Our scuba group stayed one night at the Kupang, Indonesia, Ashton Hotel from September 3 to September 4 of 2003, on route to the Alami Resort
0:23
and my roller bag board arrived in Kupang but mysteriously went missing
0:35
My trip leader, my trip leader, Michael Wood, and I both seemed to agree that we saw my rollerboard in the lobby of the hotel
0:48
A hotel said our room wasn't ready, and they... but they wouldn't issue us luggage tags
0:56
They wouldn't put the bags behind the counter. They wouldn't put the bags in a room
1:02
They insisted on just leaving them exposed in the lobby. And eventually my rollerboard was not delivered to my room And it been missing for more than five months almost five and a half months
1:21
It did show up afterwards, and I've gotten pictures, detailed pictures, from the hotel
1:30
of the contents of this rollerboard. And it included some valuable things, my underwater camera
1:38
and a backup nitrox dive computer. And oh, there were so many things
1:46
my precious things that I wouldn't even check with the airline, but I wanted to have on board the airline with me as a carry-on
1:56
And that bag disappeared. So it ruined my vacation. And then the bag was recovered by the hotel
2:05
They never really said, where it went. But if they have it, they've sent me detailed pictures of the contents, but I can't seem to get them to send it to me
2:16
They should be so unhappy. I would like to be apologetic and just put the stuff in a box and mail it to me
2:24
I really need the stuff I use it And they keep saying they do something And then weeks go by months go by And it really very frustrating So I delighted that I have an opportunity to
2:41
hear to tell my story to warn other people and then try to get management to put a fire under the
2:48
Kupang, asked the hotel management to just send me my stuff. The solution I'm looking
2:55
for is that they will send me my stuff. They will put it in a cardboard box
3:03
They will do whatever they have to. And just they have my address
3:10
It's not their stuff. It's my stuff. I was really inconvenienced. I just want my stuff back
3:19
I don't think I should have to pay to get my stuff back. But if they assist, I can pay some
3:25
money to get my stuff back, but they won't tell me how much it is or how I should pay
3:31
And I shouldn't have to pay, I don't think, because they screwed up, in my opinion
3:36
They kept saying we do this we do that we get your stuff back to you And then weeks went by And so I were to remind them that they still have it And they said oh we get to it right away
3:51
We'll get to it tomorrow. And we'll write to you and we'll tell you what's happening
3:59
And they didn't follow up. And this happened repeatedly for, again, about five and a half
4:06
almost more than five months. My main goal is to get the attention of the hotel to send me my stuff and also to warn people
4:17
that this particular hotel at least currently has an issue about not safeguarding luggage
4:24
and not and so you really have to be really have to watch your luggage very very carefully
4:34
We took the hotel van from the airport to the hotel and
4:39
I don't know who had, I never was given a straight answer as to what happens to my, my release for a missing months or so
4:49
But now they have it and why don't they just send it to me? That's really what I want
4:54
I want them just to mail it to me
