Can computer radiation cause cancer? video blog. Computers and other electronic devices emit low-frequency electromagnetic radiation, primarily from the monitor, power supply, and other components.
The type of radiation emitted by computers is non-ionizing radiation, which means it lacks the energy to ionize atoms or molecules or remove tightly bound electrons. Ionizing radiation, such as X-rays and certain forms of nuclear radiation, is known to have the potential to damage DNA and increase the risk of cancer. Non-ionizing radiation, like that emitted by computers, doesn't have this same level of energy and is generally considered to be of lower risk.
