The most surprising thing about working with Shonda is, I'm going to be honest with you, is her participation

I've worked with many a showrunner who keep themselves at a distance

And Shonda is, you know, even with all the hubbub as you can see around us here, accessible

And I appreciate that. The thing that I love the most, and I guess it's not surprising, but I love that she is professional and direct because she knows what she wants

And that puts me as an actor at ease when I feel like somebody is steering the ship really strongly and like really firmly

Then I can create and push the boundaries of the story that we're telling even more

So yeah, the fact that she feels, when you work with Shonda, you always feel like there is a steady hand at the wheel

And you feel taken care of personally and professionally. Oh gosh. Like how gentle she is in person, I think is, I'm trying to think, because everybody knows so much about Shonda

It's hard to think of something that someone doesn't know. But yeah, I think that's just it

She seems like maybe from a distance that she'd lead like a big othering life, but like very loving and inclusive and just a lot of fun
