The Next Generation of Whitewater Kayakers | Paddle Tales
Jan 16, 2026
I took my daughter down the Ottawa River for the first time when she was 6 months old. Over the years we transitioned from rafts to a tandem whitwater kayak, which I knew this was going to be a huge asset when it came time for her to paddle her own kayak – and that time finally came this summer. After taking her first weeklong kayaking course at Liquid Skills, Chelsea can roll her kayak, and she’s paddled the river on her own.
