I Traded My Kayak For a Whitewater Canoe | Paddle Tales
Jan 15, 2026
I've been a kayaker for 30 years and taught kayaking almost as long, but this week I've traded my kayak for a canoe, and have gone from teacher to student. Now, I've done a fair bit of canoeing over the years, but I've never done any serious whitewater canoeing. In fact, this will be my first time in a solo whitewater canoe. What better place to learn to whitewater canoe, than the first and finest paddling school in the country, the Madawaska Kanu Centre.
