Ingredients:
8 ounces (about 1 cup) semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
Heat the Cream:
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Be careful not to let it boil.
Pour Over Chocolate:
Place the finely chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate, making sure the chocolate is fully submerged.
Let it Sit:
Let the mixture sit for about 2-3 minutes without stirring. This allows the chocolate to melt.
