hello my friends it's Danny and today
0:02
I'm showing you how to make the most
0:04
delicious blondie recipe this is a
0:07
healthy vegan recipe that uses almond
0:10
butter and chickpeas as the base so it's
0:13
a little bit unexpected but it is so
0:15
good and could not be any easier to make
0:18
shocking what you can do with some
0:19
chickpeas and an almond butter so to get
0:20
started I've got my oven preheating at
0:22
350° F and I'm going to grease an 8x8
0:26
baking dish with some coconut oil you
0:29
could do this with cooking spray as well
0:30
you just want to use something to make
0:32
sure that the blondies don't stick now
0:34
from here this recipe pretty much is
0:36
going to be made in a food processor so
0:38
I have a large food processor here if
0:40
you didn't have one you could probably
0:42
get the job done in a blender as well so
0:44
there are options so the first
0:46
ingredient are our chickpeas also known
0:48
as garbanzo beans and these make a
0:51
surprisingly great base for this recipe
0:53
and it's awesome because they're rich in
0:56
protein and rich in fiber which we don't
0:58
usually find in a traditional baked good
1:00
so I've got one 15oz can of chickpeas
1:03
that I'll drain and then rinse under
1:05
some cold water i always rinse off my
1:07
canned beans it's just an easy way to
1:09
wash away any extra sodium and keeps us
1:11
in charge of all of the ingredients so
1:13
I'll get those into the food processor
1:15
and then we're ready for our almond
1:16
butter now you want to look for an all
1:19
naturatural almond butter the only
1:20
ingredient that should be in there are
1:22
the almonds and ideally you want your
1:26
almond butter to be at room temperature
1:28
it's going to be the easiest to work
1:29
with that way you want it to be nice and
1:31
loose and creamy like I have here it's
1:33
almost pourable that's the consistency
1:36
that you're looking for and just as a
1:38
side note you could use any nut or seed
1:40
butter that you have on hand so use what
1:42
you have and or use what you love next I
1:45
have 1/3 of a cup of monk fruit now for
1:48
those of you who have not experimented
1:49
with monk fruit yet it's an all-natural
1:52
plant-derived sweetener that is
1:55
substituted one for one with granulated
1:57
sugar but it has no calories and it does
1:59
not affect blood sugar levels like
2:01
traditional sugar so I've been
2:03
experimenting with it in a handful of my
2:05
recipes and I really do like it if you
2:07
don't want to use it you could use any
2:09
type of granulated sugar you prefer and
2:11
or you could even do this with honey or
2:13
maple syrup they all work next 1
2:16
teaspoon of vanilla extract and then 1/4
2:19
teaspoon each of kosher salt baking
2:22
powder and baking soda i'm going to pop
2:26
my lid on and then just let this blend
2:29
together until you see that a nice thick
2:32
batter has occurred just like if you
2:34
were making a cookie dough when it's
2:36
done and it's ready it's going to look
2:37
just like this this is the consistency
2:39
that you're looking for this texture
2:40
right here now the last step is the
2:43
chocolate chips so I'm adding a half a
2:46
cup of chocolate chips if you want to
2:48
keep this 100% vegan make sure to look
2:51
for a vegan brand of chocolate chips i
2:53
like to just fold these in with a
2:55
spatula so that the blade from the food
2:57
processor doesn't break them up so just
2:59
gently fold that in until they are all
3:01
worked throughout the batter and also
3:03
keep in mind you could do this with
3:04
white chocolate chips and if you don't
3:05
want to do chocolate chips you can play
3:07
with any type of stirring you like so
3:09
have some fun with it and dare I remind
3:11
you that this dough this batter we have
3:13
here has no eggs so it's perfectly safe
3:16
if you feel the need to just taste test
3:18
it as you go the option is there my
3:20
friend from here I will transfer the
3:22
batter into our prepared baking dish and
3:26
then you're just going to even it out
3:27
with your spatula do the best you can
3:30
then I'll pop this into the 350°ree oven
3:33
for 25 minutes or until they are lightly
3:36
golden on the top and they're set
3:37
through the middle and keep in mind that
3:40
whenever you're baking the moment the
3:42
kitchen starts to become very fragrant
3:44
like you want to kind of bite the air
3:46
that's a good indicator that your baked
3:48
goods are just about done so should you
3:50
ever forget to set a timer or you're
3:52
just not sure let your nose lead the way
3:55
once the blondies are done you do want
3:57
to let them cool completely before you
4:00
cut them and get them out but once
4:02
they've cooled they should come out
4:03
really easily i like to cut them and
4:05
then I pop them into an airtight
4:07
container and store them in the fridge i
4:10
find that they actually taste best when
4:12
they're cold they are so good it's
4:15
almost like a chocolate chip cookie bar
4:17
i cannot wait for you all to give this
4:20
recipe a try and when you do make sure
4:22
you tag me on Instagram and on Facebook

4:26

4:42
