okay this is a 1969 Dodge a100 cab
0:05
forward pickup truck and I've had it for
0:08
almost three years and it's great I love
0:10
driving this this little truck doesn't
0:13
go too fast because of the rear gearing
0:15
but usually when I'm on a highway like
0:17
today coming down here to Jersey for the
0:19
meet I get in the right-hand Lane and I
0:22
do my 55 maybe 60 with a good tailwind
0:25
and it's great to drive I get a lot of
0:28
looks and the kids love it it's usually
0:31
the kids and the senior citizens because
0:34
they remember the truck when it first
0:35
came out it's not the original color
0:40
originally I believe it was a very dark
0:42
far screen and it was repainted this
0:47
aqua aqua color because just before I
0:50
bought the what the truck three years
0:51
ago it's yeah it's noisy it gets a
1:00
little warm on summer days but it's
1:04
great it's got the solid front axle so
1:06
you feel you feel the road you really
1:07
feel the road a lot but that's that's
1:09
part of the charm it's got a homemade
1:12
rear bumper which I did not put on it
1:15
was there when I bought they bought the
1:16
vehicle which is probably stronger than
1:19
the original bumper I purchased the
1:22
truck in mastic long island out by the
1:25
north shore and I went out with a
1:28
flatbed truck sight unseen and I bought
1:30
the truck that same evening I flatbed it
1:32
at home to Mount Vernon New York and
1:35
that's just about got the only thing I
1:37
really had to do with this is replace
1:40
the oil pump because the oil pressure
1:42
was enough to by my standards so I
1:44
replaced the oil pump and that cured the
1:46
problem and the next thing I'm gonna do
1:49
with the truck is wet sand it and and
1:52
buff it out because there's a lot of
1:53
orange peel on the truck we have to say
2:00
thank you to time minding us film and
2:04
photograph his truck and for giving us
2:07
more of an idea of what it's like to
2:09
actually have such a piece of history
2:11
Dave does have
2:13
100 vans as well which are similar and
2:15
at least one of those has been profiled
2:17
