We Finally Understand Groot's Entire Backstory

If fans weren't familiar with the Guardians of the Galaxy when the film was first announced, they probably thought Marvel was joking about a talking tree voiced by Vin Diesel who only speaks three words. However, Groot quickly became a fan favorite, with each utterance of "I am Groot," having a different meaning. The character is easy to fall in love with, but he has quite a complicated backstory in the comics, and he actually started out as a villain. Maybe we'll see some of it if we ever get a Groot standalone film, but let's take a look at the entire backstory of Groot.
