Yep.
0:01
But you can't just stand here.
0:02
I can stand where I like out here. Thank
0:04
you.

Hey up and welcome to the channel. Today
0:22
we're in Sheffield having a look at one
0:25
of the migrant hotels, the Holiday in
0:29
Express, just off Blancc Street.
0:32
And behind the doors of the Sheffield
0:34
Hotel, taxpayers are footing the bill
0:36
for a broken system costing the public
0:38
millions while those inside
0:41
are facing overcrowding, disease, and
0:44
neglect.
0:45
This holiday in is operated by IHG, one
0:50
of the many hotels used to house asylum
0:52
seekers under the home office contract.
0:55
This one is run by MI and the
0:58
government's own figures show that it
1:00
costs around Β£145 per person per night.
1:04
And in December 2024, that's the latest
1:07
info I could find,
1:10
Sheffield housed 266 asylum seekers. So,
1:14
I'm not sure how many is in this hotel
1:16
itself, which costs us 38,500
1:20
a day or 1.2 million a month. That's
1:24
including all the hotels in Sheffield,
1:26
not just this one. So, I think on the
1:28
data I saw, I think this one was
1:30
estimating somewhere around 640,000. It
1:33
houses 150, but I'm not 100% how
1:36
accurate that information is.
1:39
But the costs of the hotel isn't just
1:41
financial. Inside this hotel there is
1:44
reports of scabies and room sharing
1:46
among strangers. They're nowhere private
1:49
to sleep or wash
1:51
but they are getting it for free. But I
1:53
say is isn't good for anybody isn't that
1:56
the security has become a concern
1:59
after violent protests at similar hotels
2:02
such as the one in Mambas and this hotel
2:05
apparently had barriers installed to
2:06
protect staff and residents.
2:10
As I said, the company responsible for
2:11
this one is Mia,
2:14
and they made, how much did they make?
2:17
Where is it? They made 383 million in
2:21
profit on the immigration crisis since
2:23
2019.
2:27
And the National Audit Office now warns
2:29
that these contracts in the UK over the
2:32
10-year period is three times more than
2:34
expected,
2:36
which is roughly around 15.3 billion.
2:42
So, and I'm I'm here as well due to the
2:46
illegal
2:47
deliver riders. So, I've personally seen
2:50
several turn up to this hotel with empty
2:53
backpacks and just walk in, not stopped
2:56
by security or anything. So,
2:59
[Music]
3:01
we will have we will go over and have a
3:05
closer look at
3:14
Heat.
3:27
[Music]
3:32
Heat.
3:53
[Music]
4:00
Right. So, we're just walking up to it
4:02
now. There is public access. We are
4:04
having a public pay display car park.
4:06
Now, there's a set of stairs which lead
4:09
to the bridge. You can cross over onto
4:11
the road to another public car park. And
4:13
there's another public car park there.
4:16
So, I've got every right to be in that
4:18
car park and out the front of the hotel.
4:23
And I'm going to research this hotel.
4:30
And I'm going research this hotel. It
4:32
does have a C1 license.
4:35
So people can come and go, go to the
4:38
bar, have a drink,
4:42
and what they want really.
4:47
So we'll go investigate and have a look,
4:50
see what's going on outside.
4:52
If we speak to anybody,
4:55
we'll speak to them
4:59
[Music]
5:02
on Google, though. Um, as I put on the
5:06
screenshot earlier,
5:10
the hotel is open to all members of the
5:12
public
5:14
and there is a fright of way through
5:16
there.
5:24
Go in the back door.
5:35
Have a little walk around. See what's
5:36
going on.
5:42
Hey, up your weight.
5:44
Speak English.
5:45
No.
5:46
No. Anybody that does?
5:52
All right, lads. Do you speak English?
6:00
How's it going?
6:04
How's it going? See, I'm not here to
6:05
cause any issues with anybody. I've just
6:07
doing um heard some reports about the
6:08
hotel. So, I've just come to check it
6:09
out about overcrowding
6:12
and things like that.
6:17
Can you go slowly with me?
6:20
Yeah. So, I've had reports on the hotel
6:22
that there's like overcrowding in rooms
6:25
and other issues with it. I'm just just
6:26
coming to check see if it's
6:28
I screen over there.
6:30
Which one?
6:32
Uh that door.
6:34
Okay, I'll go have a look. No. Is it Are
6:36
you finding it okay in England?
6:38
Yeah.
6:38
Do you like it here?
6:41
Ask me.
6:43
Well, you can't tell me if you like it
6:44
or not, can I?
6:47
No worries. Right. Brilliant. Thank you.
6:59
So he didn't speak English.
7:02
Security guard just behind the door.
7:04
[Music]
7:07
And look at all the bikes.
7:14
Loads of them. I'm not going to pull the
7:17
handheld out.
7:21
Look at them all. None of them are
7:23
locked up.
7:26
How much is the paying display?
7:29
Yeah. Pol in parking. I for hotel guest
7:32
register to pay at reception.
7:38
How you up? You all right?
7:41
Yeah. Good.
7:43
What are you there?
7:44
No. I'm good. I'm just having a look
7:46
around.
7:46
Yeah. Can leave now.
7:47
I'm in a public I'm in a public car
7:49
park. Daddy,
7:50
I'm in a public car park.
7:51
In a public car park? Yeah.
7:53
Pay display if if a member of the
7:55
public, I can park it.
7:56
You walking?
7:57
Nope.
7:58
Can I access it as a member of the
7:59
public can come in?
8:00
Yeah, you can go. Yeah.
8:01
Yeah. So, I can come right down here.
8:02
It's all publicly accessible.
8:04
That's right.
8:04
That's publicly accessible. So, I'm okay
8:06
to stand here.
8:07
Yeah.
8:07
Yeah. So, that's not meant to stand
8:09
here.
8:09
Why?
8:10
Yeah. It's not public access. It's a
8:12
private.
8:12
It is. So,
8:14
pedestrians can walk through.
8:15
Yeah. You can walk through. You can't
8:17
stand.
8:18
So, you can walk through. Yeah.
8:19
So, I couldn't stand and make a phone
8:20
call if I wanted to.
8:21
No, you can stand. You can walk. No.
8:23
Okay. I I um I disagree.
8:26
Okay. So, I'm just going to have a look
8:27
around the car park a bit more.
8:29
You don't need to look car park a bit
8:31
more. You have to leave, please.
8:32
I'm on public land.
8:33
Yeah. I know. You can walk down. You
8:35
can't stand here.
8:36
I'll walk around car park.
8:38
You can't walk down car park. What is
8:39
your What's your business here?
8:41
I was just checking the prices a second
8:42
ago.
8:42
You don't need to check the prices. It's
8:44
not working. Is it work?
8:46
Well, it's open. It's not covered up.
8:48
Don't say do do not use on it.
8:50
There's no sign saying the car park
8:51
closed.
8:52
I'll carry on going around when I'm I'll
8:54
go when I'm finished. Thank you.
8:55
You can't go when you finish. You can
8:57
leave now.
8:59
Hello.
9:00
Hello. Okay.
9:01
Yeah. Yeah. I'm I'm not coming in. I'm
9:02
not causing you any trouble. I'm just
9:04
having a walk around the public
9:05
accessible areas and that's me done.
9:08
So, I can stand here if I wanted to.
9:10
I've also I've also come to uh I've had
9:13
reports I've seen them myself like
9:14
deliver riders living in this hotel. Are
9:18
they working illegally or legally?
9:21
That's what I'm saying that you can walk
9:22
down. You can walk up. Nothing bad in
9:25
that.
9:26
Yep.
9:26
But you can't just stand here.
9:28
I can stand where I like out here. Thank
9:30
you.
9:30
You can't stand here. It's not
9:32
It's not permissible to stand here.
9:34
That's what I'm saying.
9:35
It's not possible.
9:36
Yeah. It's not possible. You can walk
9:37
down anywhere. It's not possible to
9:39
stand here.
9:40
That's what I'm saying to you. You can
9:41
walk down. You can walk down this way.
9:44
You can walk down this way. So that's
9:46
what I'm saying.
9:47
Okay.
9:47
Yeah.
9:49
I'll stand on there then. So that's the
9:50
right way.
9:53
Down there.
9:55
Is that better?
9:58
Is that better?
10:02
that you can see that way.
10:05
So, they don't even like you standing
10:08
on the public property.
10:13
No mention of the delivery riders. He
10:16
just like waved like, "Yep, we know. We
10:18
understand."
10:20
So,
10:22
you're not allowed to stand on this
10:25
access, but you're allowed to walk.
10:30
[Music]
10:31
That's how they treat residents of the
10:33
UK.
10:40
So, I'll go for a walk around on this
10:42
side. See if there's any signages on the
10:45
door.
10:47
Publicly accessible.
10:51
There's a meeting going on inside. All
10:53
deliveries go on the side.
10:56
IGN clean promise.
10:58
No smoking, no signs saying
11:02
close to public.
11:04
And Google says it's open.
11:20
So,
11:23
nothing else to see on that side. Nice.
11:26
So, we'll come back.
11:31
They are very well protected.
11:34
He didn't go hands on with me to try and
11:35
move me. That's why I kept retreating
11:37
around the bicycle to keep him from
11:40
going behind me.
11:43
[Music]
11:52
[Music]
11:56
So there's nothing I can say then
11:57
because I was walking not standing.
12:01
There is a bin there for members of the
12:03
public.
12:08
Please do not step over the chain.
12:11
Please use exit to the car park to join
12:14
the hotel.
12:16
So, there's a litter bin for the public.
12:22
There's a lift outside, but this to me
12:24
is publicly accessible.
12:36
So, I'll stand here for a little while.
12:44
And just to be a just to be an
12:46
annoyance, I'm going to walk back to
12:48
them
12:50
just to prove a point.
12:53
[Music]
12:55
Yep. I know it's petty, but there we go.
13:00
Morning.
13:05
Good morning. How are you?
13:07
Yeah, good. You?
13:08
What?
13:08
Very good. Yourself?
13:11
Selfie?
13:11
Very good.
13:13
You're very good.
13:13
Yeah. Are you?
13:14
Very good.
13:16
So, not not You're not allowed to speak
13:18
to me.
13:19
Not allowed to speak to me. Are you
13:20
enjoying England?
13:23
Very good.
13:24
Very good. How is it?
13:25
Super.
13:27
Been cold inside now. He's
13:36
now notifying them about my camera.
13:41
He's on the phone. So, could be speaking
13:45
to the police. So, I will hang around
13:48
out here
13:51
[Music]
13:53
and wait a few minutes cuz if it's up
13:57
somewhere like this calling,
14:00
then
14:02
there will be coming quite soon.
14:06
So, I'll get the handheld out now.
14:12
Show how publicly accessible it is.
14:16
Got this bridge leading from the public
14:17
car park all the way down crossing out
14:21
to go through there.
14:25
And then
14:27
the road itself
14:29
lays all the way down there
14:33
[Music]
14:35
onto Blanc Street. So it is publicly
14:38
accessible from three different angles.
14:48
We have got the hundreds of bikes
14:52
lined up given free from the government.
14:56
This hotel is run by meters.
15:04
They call them all inside now. So man's
15:06
walked through with a camera
15:08
shutting all the blinds inside.
15:12
So, I wasn't looking in the windows
15:13
anyway.
15:15
So, there we go. Talk about integrating
15:20
with the community.
15:22
I've got no issue with anybody who comes
15:24
in the country legally.
15:28
So,
15:30
it's just the illegal ones which don't
15:32
pay into the system
15:34
which I've got an issue with. They might
15:36
just be holding
15:39
holding centers.
15:41
But again, they enjoy England. Got no
15:45
issue with that. The weather is
15:46
beautiful. It's not absolutely pissing
15:48
down today.
15:50
We've got two security guards and
15:52
another member of staff outside. She's
15:54
just gone back in. One of them left
15:57
outside.
16:05
[Music]
16:07
Is that another way into the car park as
16:08
well? Over there. I think there's a
16:10
stair set in that corner too for public
16:12
to use, but I'm not 100%. I've not been
16:16
had a look in that corner.
16:18
So, we'll hang about and see if he has
16:20
called the police.
16:32
[Music]
16:42
Now he's gone back inside.
16:44
One gentleman out in the car park still.
16:48
He's not listening to their rubbish.
16:53
So this is Mia's. You're not allowed to
16:56
stand in a publicly accessible area with
16:59
public right of worth through it.
17:02
had no comment on the deliver room,
17:06
but this hotel along with the others in
17:08
the UK is costing us 385,000 pound a
17:12
day.
17:16
Altogether in the UK,
17:19
nearly 16 billion over the 10-year
17:21
contracts I've got.
17:26
So, I've shut all the blinds on this
17:27
side. Security is just still looking out
17:29
the window.
17:32
I've seen a couple of cop cars go by
17:34
when I was on the way over here from
17:36
when I was getting my drone footage.
17:40
So, we will uh
17:43
we'll just see.
17:46
[Music]
17:48
So, if anything happens, we'll get the
17:51
video. We'll cut the video to there
17:53
because it's just going to be me boring,
17:55
stood chilling in the sun. I have got
17:58
some sun cream on.
18:01
which I'm glad I do.
18:05
Can hear sirens, but I don't think
18:06
they're coming over here.
18:10
Oh, there's a bobby up there.
18:14
[Music]
18:19
So, is he coming down here?
18:24
How's he packing water?
18:38
Nope. I don't think he's coming down
18:39
yet.
18:50
So, I said we'll
18:53
get the video picked back up if anything
18:55
happens in the next 10 15 minutes.
19:00
The gentleman did just try and come out
19:01
of the hotel then.
19:04
And he got ushered back inside. So, he's
19:05
not nobody's allowed out cuz I'm out
19:08
here. I'm not even on what they could
19:11
even say is their land with public
19:13
access.
19:15
I'm on the bridge. So, we'll stay a
19:18
little bit longer and see if the police
19:20
do turn up.
19:22
[Music]
19:30
Here we go. About a 15minute response
19:34
time.
19:37
[Music]
19:39
Here they come.
19:42
Yeah, you can come through. All right.
19:47
[Music]
20:05
So, it wasn't even 15 minutes, I don't
20:07
think, from when they arrived
20:12
for when they called.
20:19
[Music]
20:25
Wonder if I've told them any
20:28
false accusations like I've been
20:30
aggressive, been harassing people. I've
20:32
just spoke to a couple of people very
20:34
politely, not aggressive.
20:38
[Music]
20:47
So, we got two security guards.
20:50
We got the other member of staff
20:54
talking to the police.
20:57
So, I wonder what they're going to have
20:58
to say.
21:15
Are they just going to leave? Are they
21:16
going to park up and speak to me? I'm
21:48
in the Police are leaving. Not a word
21:50
said to me. Nothing illegal going on.
22:00
There's another Bobby.
22:24
So, the police turned up for them. They
22:26
must have educated them that there's
22:28
nothing they can do for me filming out
22:29
here in public.
22:32
And then they've left and they've gone
22:33
back inside with the tails between their
22:35
legs. So, we'll end that video there
22:42
and we'll leave.
22:46
So,
22:50
and we've got some of the the power
22:52
washers here, but they're just working.
22:55
We'll leave them alone. But I've come to
22:58
see the one of the hotels,
23:00
which has sold out the British public
23:03
and housing
23:06
migrants costing us a collective of over
23:10
15 billion, nearly 16 billion a year.
23:14
Right. So, we'll end that there and we
23:16
will see you in the next video. Thanks
23:18
for watching.
23:20
