hey gang Jane back today with another fun and stylish crochet granny square tutorial I call this one the graceful
0:07
Diamond I love working with geometric patterns and granny squares for me are often like creating designs using puzzle
0:14
pieces this geometric Square starts with a small square and then I rotate it so
0:19
that the center appears as a diamond very much like a kaleidoscope Design This square has such a versatile look
0:26
depending on how many colors you use and where you choose to place them had a lot of fun with the square playing with just
0:33
the color hey if you haven't already be sure you hit that subscribe button and if you're enjoying these tutorials
0:38
please like and share them with your friends that helps me to keep this free content coming and to help Inspire more
0:44
people to get creative as with all my squares you can find the free patterns over on my blog at www. jspc create.com
0:53
along with inspirational picks detailed close-ups and color variations all right
0:59
let's jump into to our graceful Diamond Square tutorial so before we get going let's
1:05
just take a look at this Square this is the one we're going to be working on today but this has so many varieties
1:11
each one of these was done in a different color combination with a different number of rows done in each
1:17
color so the square that's done in eight rounds which it will be today's I'd say
1:23
it's a 5 and 1/2 in square this Square can also be done with less rounds these two squares were done with six rounds
1:29
same Square just the last two rounds were left off and they are 4 1/2 in and
1:35
they're much more simple look to them you can see I did this one in three colors and I did this one in two colors
1:42
so lots of variety with the square and again this will be the one that we're doing today so you can see the
1:48
difference here and then you can have fun with it by adding even more colors so what I did
1:54
with this one four different colors in one round that's how I got this look and then this square right here very simply
2:01
is done in two colors the full eight rounds so lots of variety can be done with the square to get different looks
2:09
so in the Square we're going to work on today I have four colors so here I have a barley color this is an off-white
2:16
color then I have a charcoal and then this color is Clay I'll list all the
2:21
names of the colors and the yarn over on the blog post so we have eight rounds and it's a 5 1/2 in square I'll be using
2:29
a worsted weight yarn today a 5 mm crochet hook and you'll also want a pair
2:34
of scissors and a daring needle we are going to work our ends in as we go but
2:41
you always need the darning needle to help us do that we're going to start with our barley color and I'm going to
2:47
do a magic ring so we lay the yaron across our Palm cut in facing us holding
2:52
in place with your thumb in your first finger wrapping around your first two fingers underneath cross crossing over
3:00
hold it with your thumb back over the next three fingers
3:05
so everything is held in place now you're going to take your hook and go under the first strand over the second
3:12
strand pulling it underneath and twisting your hook so it's nice and
3:17
twisted on there to hold it in place now the Strand that's over our third finger we go underneath that hook it and pull
3:24
it through the loop on the hook and we've created our magic ring and we're ready ready for round one round one is
3:32
going to be half double crochets so we start with a chain two that represents
3:38
our first half double crochet since we already have a chain one on there we only need to do one more so that is now
3:46
our chain two that represents our first half double crochet we're going to work 11 more half double crochets into this
3:53
ring half double crochet is yarn over your hook insert into to the loop yarn
4:02
over pull up a loop three loops on the hook yarn over and pull through all
4:08
three loops on the hook there's your first half double crochet which actually means we have two in there you want 12
4:17
total so we need to do 10 more into this
4:24
ring one more two more and make sure you have
4:31
lots of yarn so it doesn't interfere with your tension I'm just going to make a few here and then we'll count
4:40
them so I find if I count slowly I always mess it
4:50
up so let's see how many we have on here so I'm actually going to count the V
4:55
stitches here it's all it's easier than counting these post cuz they're very short and I'm going to start up here and make
5:02
sure that you count that chain two as well so 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and 10 is that
5:12
chain two I only need two more one and
5:22
two all right we're ready to pull up our magic ring for round one I hold it with
5:28
my finger and thumb of the same hand I have the hook in and I pull on this cut
5:34
end right here pulling on it gently and slowly to cinch this hole
5:40
in try to hold that yarn that you're working with a little bit away there so it doesn't got knotted in and just pull
5:47
it so it's nice and firm and closed up now we want to finish off this round and
5:53
I'll be changing my color so I am going to cut my yarn and do an invisible join
6:00
so cut it about 3 to 4 in now we want our darning
6:07
needle pull the yarn through with your hook and let's do an invisible join put
6:13
that yarn on your darning needle you want to skip over the chain two that's
6:20
here go under the two Loops of the first actual half double
6:26
crochet pull your yarn through gently not too tight and come back and go into
6:33
the Stitch you came out of going down to Loops
6:38
behind pulling that through and what you want it to look like is all the other
6:44
stitches so there you are you have your invisible joint now I want to darn this
6:49
in so it's out of my way what I do is where I went in I come back up into the
6:56
invisible stitch which is the Stitch that I made just now right through the
7:01
center of it pulling it nice and firm but not too tight don't want to mess up
7:06
my tension go back down into the Stitch behind it and that gives it a little
7:12
Loop and secures it and as I say to everybody it really does cuz when I try to pull these out I can never find it
7:20
and then we just go through the back Loops only of maybe halfway around our Circle
7:25
or maybe all the way this will all get worked into the next round so it stays
7:31
nice and secure so that one is now worked in and
7:37
I can cut it and on the back I still have this one
7:42
I started with I'm going to work that in as well so it's out of my way
7:48
now this is the one that I pulled up the ring with so I'm going to go continue
7:54
around that ring so going under all these stitches in that first round and
8:01
I'm going to continue around in a circle might feel tight but that's okay
8:08
because if it's tight that means it'll stay put and I go all the way around at least once again give it a little
8:15
tug and you can either keep going around again or you can turn around and go the other way it's personal preference I
8:22
actually find if I even just go around a little bit more it's in there good and solid
8:34
round one is finished round number two I'll be using
8:39
my putty yarn and I'll be using it for the next two rounds in this case so let me pull back in the one that we are
8:45
working on this Center piece right here is right here now we're going to do the
8:52
next two rounds in putty before we change to the charcoal which will be in round four so I take my putty and I'm
8:58
going to join join in any one of these stitches with a single crochet and I like to do a standing single crochet so
9:05
I hold my yarn at the back and around my finger I put my hook underneath it and
9:11
loop it onto the hook just over just a yarn over insert into any one of the
9:17
stitches going under the cut end at the back yarn over and pull up I have the
9:25
two Loops yarn over pull through two and that's my standing single crochet I do
9:30
another single crochet in the next Stitch I forgot to mention this but I will be working over top of my cut end
9:37
for this round and you can see it in this picture here so I have two now and this next
9:46
will be my corner and that's going to be a half double crochet chain three half
9:51
double crochet into that one stitch half double crochet chain
9:59
three and half double crochet so right off the bat we have the
10:07
first Edge and corner of our Square now we're going to move on to the next Edge and that is simply single crochet in the
10:15
next Stitch and single crochet in the next Stitch so two single crochets one in
10:22
each Stitch and our next corner has arrived half double
10:27
crochet chain three and half double
10:35
crochet so there we have two corners and two edges we only have two more of those
10:41
to do to finish our Square single crochet in the next Stitch
10:46
and single crochet in the next Stitch next corner is here we'll do a half
10:52
double crochet chain three and a half double crochet
11:01
now I didn't really talk about this as I was doing it but I held the yarn at the back the entire way around here and just
11:06
worked over top of it this time it was just simply working over the yarn and as you can see on the back it's
11:14
worked in nothing fancy with that one just working over top of it we're going to finish off this round with single
11:21
crochet and a single crochet one in each of the next two stitches when you get
11:27
back to that Stitch where you did the visible join because we Loop the the yarn around it it can be a little hard
11:33
to get into sometimes so you just kind of work your way into it and we should have one stitch left and that's going to
11:40
be our Corner half double crochet chain three
11:46
and a half double crochet now I'm going to use this color
11:53
on the next round so I do not need to fasten off but I do need to slip stitch join so go into that first single
11:59
crochet with your hook and slip stitch join by just pulling the Aron through
12:04
and through the loop on the hook and you have completed round number two round number three is fairly simple
12:11
it's all single crochet and you're just going to do single crochet chain three single crochet
12:17
Corners so we start with a chain one we single crochet in that first Stitch that
12:23
we joined in single crochet in each of the next two stitches
12:30
and that gives us three single crochets so far in the corner we're going to do
12:36
single crochet chain three single
12:42
crochet now we're going to work a single crochet in each of the next four this
12:48
gets tricky because these half double crochets the tops of their stitches lie
12:53
to the right of the Stitch whereas most of them although they are laying to the
12:58
right the half double crochet seems to do it even more than any other Stitch so it
13:04
can actually be hard to see that that's a stitch so your first Stitch is right
13:11
here right above that half double crochet and you feel kind of like you're working in the chain space but you're
13:17
not because there is a little bit of the Strand you've gone into there so you
13:23
want to go under the two Loops at the top of this half double crochet that's where your first first single crochet
13:30
will work and then we work three
13:35
more so you'll have a total of four across that edge and we've reached our next Corner
13:42
which will be single crochet chain three single crochet so go right into there
13:48
chain three and then another single crochet so see how we've got single
13:54
crochet chain three single crochet corner and we're on to our next Edge and
14:00
again we're going to do four single crochets one in each Stitch so look for
14:06
that first one it's right there and then we go one single
14:13
crochet two three and four now we're back to our
14:20
next corner I'm going to get a little more yarn I'm working with a ball this time which I don't normally do I like to
14:26
hand wrap them and this is where all over my desk so if it rolls into the
14:32
picture then you know why next corner will be single crochet chain
14:38
three and single crochet we're getting there next Edge
14:45
single crochet in each of the next four
14:51
stitches one 2 3
14:59
and four this is our last Corner single crochet chain
15:06
three single crochet so we started right here and we
15:15
worked three single crochets so we actually have a single crochet to work before we do our slip stitch join round
15:22
so we go right into this first half double crochet from the previous
15:27
round and we work a single crochet we can either do a slip stitch
15:33
join to join our round or we can do an invisible join because I'm not using this color again not for the next round
15:41
anyways so I'm going to go ahead and cut it about 4 in I give myself lots of room
15:47
there to darn in bring in my darning needle and put the Yon on
15:53
it and then again I'm going to do a invisible joint that's what I like to do so taking my yarn I go and I skip over
16:02
this first single crochet cuz I will be imitating a stitch over top of it and I
16:07
go to the second single crochet go under the two Loops pull my needle through come back
16:16
to the Stitch I came out of go in and go two
16:23
down see how that works really well and then I come up through the
16:28
middle middle of that one just to secure it go back down the one behind and then
16:35
I go into the back Loops only to darn my end
16:43
in and I'll do that across to the corner and then down
16:48
the next side as well and that will probably be good
16:53
because again that will all get worked into my piece I will trim my yarn
17:01
and we're ready to do round four so we've done three rounds so far
17:08
still just working on this Square we haven't got to the diamond part yet so
17:13
let's look where we are we've done the square so in order to see it properly I need to rotate it like the diamond right
17:21
we still have this row of charcoal to do before we start to do the diamond
17:27
shaping so let's go ahead and do the charcoal we take our charcoal and we can
17:32
join in any one of these Corners because we can join where we want now so I'm going to go into one of these chain
17:38
three corners and I'm going to do a standing single crochet so I wrap my yarn first go into this chain three
17:46
space yarn over and pull up a loop and complete my single crochet now I'm just
17:52
going to hold my yarn be the back of the work because again this is all single crochets so I'm going to work six single
17:59
crochets across this Edge to the next corner so that is
18:08
one 2
18:15
3 4
18:20
5 and six we started here in the corner and
18:26
I've done six single crochet across which will will give me a total of seven single crochets we've reached our next
18:33
corner and in this corner I do a single crochet chain three and a single
18:40
crochet and that's what we're going to do all the way around six single crochet
18:46
and then a corner of single crochet chain three single crochet so I'm just going to go quiet so that you can watch
18:52
me do this this round is one of the simpler ones
18:59
[Music]
19:20
[Music]
19:29
[Music]
19:43
[Music]
19:53
[Music]
20:01
[Music] so we've reached the end of our round
20:08
that's the end of our six single crochets we're back to the chain three we joined in so we work a single crochet
20:14
in that same chain three then we chain three
20:19
again and we do a slip stitch so I do a slip stitch now cuz when I end with a
20:24
chain I usually do a slip stitch I don't do the invisible one we slip stitch in that first single
20:32
crochet and we're finished we cut our yarn cuz I'm not using the charcoal
20:38
again pull it through get your darning needle and get
20:44
it on the yarn and what we do here is we're just going to do a simple through the back
20:50
Loops only so I usually go back down into the first single crochet that I
20:55
just slip stitched into and then I go into the back Loops only all the way
21:02
across and then I will go around the corner cuz I like to put it a little extra in and go down the next
21:12
Edge and the more you do it the more you just loopy loopy loop and it really works
21:18
nicely so then I stretch it back to the proper cuz it'll pull it out a shape a little and I cut it
21:30
and we're ready to go on to round five and do our shaping of the
21:36
diamond okay it's time now for our Square to become a diamond so let's pull
21:41
this one in there you can see there's our square and now we're going to be
21:46
working this Diamond D shape around it basically we're just pivoting it from a
21:52
square this way to a square this way our next color is going to be this clay
21:58
color so this will be the most fun round of the entire Square now in this case we're going to join our clay in a
22:04
specific spot not just any spot but we want to join it in the first single
22:09
crochet of the last round and if you can't find that first single crochet because we did darn our ends in what I
22:16
want you to do is just join it in the first single crochet after any of these chain three spaces so it doesn't really
22:22
matter if it's the first single crochet of the previous round it's just the easiest way to find it so we're going to
22:27
do a standing single crochet in that first single crochet after the chain three so wrap your yarn around insert
22:35
into that Stitch and under the cut end and complete your single crochet there's
22:41
going to be chain stitches throughout this one so I want to work my end in and I will be working it up and down weaving
22:48
it into this round so we take the cut end and we bring it up to the top across
22:54
the working yarn and we chain one then we bring it back back down and the next
23:00
Stitch is going to be a half double crochet so I'm going to wrap the Yon around my hook including the cut
23:08
end and then I come back and I work into the next Stitch and I go under the cut
23:14
end there as well so super wrapped into this Stitch yarn over pull up a loop
23:20
you've got a whole lot going on here yarn over and pull through all of it then we're going to bring our cut in
23:28
back pop across the working yarn and chain one now we're bringing it back down
23:34
again I don't have a lot left so this will probably be the last Stitch I work it into and we're going to do a double
23:40
crochet into the next Stitch so yarn under and all of this including the cut
23:46
end goes around it go into the next Stitch and go under your cut yarn pull
23:52
up a loop yarn over and pull through the first two including that cut yarn you
23:59
have two Loops left on the hook yarn over and pull through those two now I'm
24:04
going to leave my cut end B just leave it it's worked in nicely up and down all through here chain
24:12
one and the next Stitch will be a treble so twice around the
24:18
hook and then you insert into the Stitch yarn over pull up a loop trebles are
24:24
yarn over pull through two yarn over pull through two two and yarn over pull
24:30
through the last two now we chain three and then we're going to reverse
24:37
what we just did here along here so starting with a treble twice around the
24:44
hook insert into the next Stitch yarn over pull up a loop yarn over pull
24:51
through two yarn over pull through two and yarn over pull through the last two
24:58
chain one now we do a double into the next
25:04
Stitch so a double crochet chain one and a half double
25:11
crochet in the next one chain one always a chain one in
25:17
between the stitches except up between the two trebles you've got a chain three so after a chain one we finish
25:25
with a single crochet in the next Stitch so you're working into every one of these
25:31
stitches complete your single crochet so now I'm going to work a chain one and
25:37
we're going to skip over this chain three space right here and we're going to single crochet into that stitch on
25:44
the other side of the chain three just a single crochet let's take a look here at
25:50
what we've done we've gone up to a corner and back down again chain ones in
25:56
between each Stitch and a chain three up here for the new corner of our Square when we got to this corner we did
26:05
just a chain one skipped over all that chain three space and did a single crochet into here now we're going to
26:13
repeat what we did here so let's do this again chain one and we're going to work
26:20
a half double crochet in the next Stitch chain one a double crochet in the next Stitch
26:30
and a chain one and now a treble into the next Stitch and this takes us to our
26:37
new corner so from here we do chain three that's the new corner of our
26:43
square and we do a treble in the next Stitch we are only doing one stitch in
26:50
every Stitch across but there's always these chain stitches in between double
26:55
crochet in the next Stitch chain one half double crochet in the
27:02
next Stitch chain one and a single crochet in this last
27:10
Stitch and chain one we're going to skip over this chain three corner here from
27:16
the previous row or round and we're going to work a single crochet into the stitch on the other
27:23
side of it let's take a look again
27:29
now we've done two edges of our square and we've created two new corners in the
27:34
middle of those edges so once again let's look at the one we had before see
27:40
how it fits right into here this is what we're working on now we've rotated the
27:46
square and we're creating a new Square so now we have a diamond in the middle let's do another one I'll walk you all
27:52
the way through this one because it it is the trickiest round chain one
27:58
half double crochet in the next Stitch chain one you're going to hear a lot of chain ones double crochet in the next
28:07
Stitch chain one and a treble in the next
28:13
Stitch chain three this time 2 three and
28:18
another treble in the next
28:23
Stitch make sure you have enough yarn so it's not pulling too much on you here chain chain
28:29
one double crochet in the next Stitch chain one half double crochet in
28:38
the next Stitch chain one and single crochet in the next Stitch chain one
28:46
skip over this chain three space right here and work a single crochet on the
28:51
other side of it into that first Stitch it'll feel like there's a lot going on in here but it fits in don't worry and
28:58
we'll be working a long single crochet into this space on the next round just
29:04
to give you a little preview of what's coming so chain one half double crochet in the next
29:11
Stitch chain one double crochet in the next Stitch
29:17
chain one and treble in the next Stitch chain
29:24
three treble in the next Stitch
29:29
chain one double crochet in the next Stitch
29:36
chain one and half double crochet chain one we're coming up to the
29:43
end here single crochet in the next Stitch that's the last one of that edge
29:50
chain one and now you want to slip stitch in the first single crochet of
29:56
the round so so because I do standing single crochets they're not as easy to get into you have to remember to leave
30:02
them loose so I just pull through a loop and pull through the one on the hook we're going to continue with this color
30:08
in the next round so I don't need to cut it off so we finished round five and that was the most complicated round of
30:14
this Square the next three rounds are all going to be very similar we've done this clay round now and we're going to
30:21
do another round of the clay just to square it out nicely I find see how it's a touch wonky here going to be doing
30:28
long single crochets I'll show you when we get there and it's going to make the square nice and square and then we're
30:35
going to do two more rounds as a border if you called I showed you these two they literally will do the next round
30:41
and then that would be it for them so you could stop after the next round but I like to go ahead and put the two extra
30:47
rounds on for the border so round six will be slip
30:52
stitching into the next chain space cuz we want to get over there we're only going to be working in chain spaces from
30:58
now on so we slip stitched into that first chain space of the previous round
31:04
chain one and work a single crochet in that same chain
31:10
space now we chain one and single crochet in the next chain
31:16
space chain one single crochet in the next chain
31:21
space chain one and we've reached our new Corner in this corner we will work a
31:27
single crochet cret chain three and a single
31:32
crochet now we're working across our first full Edge chain one single crochet
31:39
in the next chain space chain one single crochet in the next chain space and
31:46
chain one single crochet in this next chain space and chain one now we've reached
31:54
this peak of our previous Square it's actually the the corner of our previous square but peak of our Diamond this is
32:00
where I want to work a long single crochet so we've done the chain one we're going to take our hook and go into
32:07
the chain three space of round four so going into the charcoal chain three
32:14
space yarn over and pull up a loop and pull it up to your current round now
32:20
it's not very far but it's a little bit longer than you would normally do so just making sure that your hook is
32:26
parallel horizontal and you want to finish a single crochet so yarn over and
32:32
pull through both that's a long single crochet because it goes over top of the
32:37
previous round and goes into the round before that like two rounds below this Stitch is also referred to as a spike
32:44
Stitch we'll do around this corner and I'll show you another one here so chain one and back to single crochets regular
32:51
single crochets into the chain spaces of the previous round single crochet crochet chain
33:01
one single crochet chain one and we're back to our new Corner single
33:08
crochet chain three oops two and three
33:13
single crochet and we're going to work our way across this Edge now chain one single
33:20
crochet in the next chain space chain one single crochet in the chain space
33:27
chain one and single crochet in this chain space and chain one now we've
33:33
reached this peak of our diamond we want to take our hook go from front to back
33:39
into that chain three space of the charcoal and you're working over top of
33:44
all these rounds yarn over pull up a loop pulling it up to the same level as
33:51
this one yarn over and pull through that's your long single crochet chain
33:58
one and we continue to work regular single crochets chain ones until we
34:05
reach our next Corner always working into these chain spaces not the
34:11
stitches here I am back to the next chain three so single crochet chain
34:18
three single crochet so we've now work down this corner across our first Edge
34:25
to a corner and across our second Edge to a corner now all we have left to do is this Edge and half of this Edge so
34:33
I'll go quiet and just finish this up and you can watch me do the regular stitches
34:43
[Music]
35:04
[Music]
35:13
[Music]
35:27
[Music]
35:37
[Music]
35:44
so I've come around to the end of my square and I'm going to end with a long single
35:50
crochet so see I've done the chain one go into that chain three space working
35:56
over top of everything thing pull up a loop to the same height complete your
36:02
single crochet chain one and then we'll slip stitch in the
36:08
first single crochet of the round and that completes round six so
36:17
I'm going to cut my yarn and I'm going to work it in because
36:22
you can see as I'm going I'm keeping the back as clean as the front
36:28
so I go down into the next Stitch and I go down a few strands if I can find them
36:35
just to secure it in there and then I bring it back
36:41
up and then I will go through the back Loops
36:47
only and I go around the corner and I go to the next Edge
36:59
go about halfway up pull it back into shape and then trim that off and there
37:06
we have round six completed these are the same squares this is done in two
37:12
colors and this is done in four colors and then to give you another example this one here this one is done in three
37:19
colors this one's done in four just different placement of the colors you can get so many different looks so we're
37:25
ready for our last two rounds and they are actually the same same round as what we just did without the long single
37:30
crochet in it and each one just increases by one stitch so the next round I'm going to
37:37
use the putty so bringing in my putty iron I'm going to join in the corner I like to
37:43
join in the corners when I do new colors because it just keeps things clean so standing single crochet in this
37:52
corner and then we do a chain one and I'm going to work my end in as I go so
37:57
taking the cut end up over the working yarn I do my chain stitch bringing the
38:03
cut end back down and working a single crochet into this next chain space
38:09
working over top of the cut end then I bring it up and across my
38:15
working yarn chain one and bring it back down across my working yarn single
38:21
crochet in the next chain space and we keep working that way all the way across bringing my cut end up and I'll take it
38:28
all the way to the next corner I think it'll go that far single crochet in the chain spaces and creating a new chain
38:37
space for this round bringing the iron back down and working into the next
38:43
chain space so all single crochets regular single crochets and
38:49
chain spaces in between oh I almost I almost have it
38:54
worked in this will probably be the last place I do it sing single crochet over top of it and I'm just going to leave it at the back chain one single crochet
39:04
chain one single crochet in the next chain space chain one and now I've reached my
39:10
corner the corners will be single crochet chain three single
39:17
crochet and that is what this entire round will be single crochet chain ones
39:23
in each of these chain spaces of the previous round with a corner single crochet chain three single crochet I'm
39:30
going to continue to work around but I won't talk and you can just watch me work if you know what you're doing no problem you can skip ahead and I'll see
39:36
you at the next round [Music]

41:35
now we're back to our where we joined it to finish off this round single crochet
41:41
in that same chain three space we joined in chain
41:46
three and slip stitch in your first single
41:52
crochet we're finished with this yarn so we can cut it off
42:00
darn that in the back Loops now you could again stop at the square right
42:05
here it looks great like that I do one more round with the charcoal just want
42:11
to show you the difference in my Yar balls what's happening bouncing back here this is my clay and I hand roll
42:18
these it's kind of like a yarn Winder but I do it by hand and they're Center PS that's what I like this one I pulled
42:25
out and I had done it in a ball it's been bouncing around my desk the whole time and this one's been sitting
42:32
very nicely I have a video tutorial on how to make these hand wound ones these center poles but you can use a yarn
42:38
Winder as well they're so handy because they don't bounce around your work area and wind themselves up with all the
42:45
other yarn they sit and they behave so I'll go ahead here and put my yarn in
42:51
get it out of my way so I can start the final round this one I'll probably just go all the way across the top top cuz
42:57
that's a good piece and then I'm going to cut
43:06
it so round number eight I'm going to use my charcoal I can join in any one of
43:12
these chain three spaces again and you can make the square as big as you want adding these rounds on now keep in mind
43:18
the larger you make a granny square the more it's op to skew if you're only working from one side in One Direction
43:25
so I usually find by the time I've reached about 9 in that's when the square starts to have a little mind of
43:31
its own but I like to do a few border rounds just to give the colors some pop
43:38
so I join it with a single crochet in any one of these
43:43
corners and then I work my yon in the same way as I did on the previous round chain one Bring It Back Down single
43:51
crochet in the next chain space bring the cut end back up chain
43:56
one one Bring It Back Down single crochet in the next chain space and I'm
44:02
going to continue like that just like I did for the previous round when I get to the corner I do single crochet chain
44:09
three single crochet so you do exactly the same thing as you did for the last round only you're using a different
44:15
color you're going to end up with one more single crochet stitch per Edge because you're one round bigger then
44:22
you'll finish it off the same way so I'm going to go ahead and jump to this being done show you how to finish off this
44:29
last round so I've reached the end of this round I do a single crochet into the
44:36
same chain three as I joined in chain three slip stitch in that first single
44:47
crochet pull it through the loop on the hook then I'll cut my
44:52
yarn and I will work this one in just like I did with the others working it all the way down here and you completed
