Chamomile Tea Recipe
Introduction:
Chamomile tea is a calming, caffeine-free herbal infusion made from the dried flowers of the chamomile plant. Known for its soothing properties, it’s perfect for relaxation, easing digestion, or as a night-time drink to help with sleep. Chamomile tea has a mild, floral flavor and is incredibly simple to prepare, requiring minimal ingredients. Its natural sweetness can be enjoyed on its own, or enhanced with honey, lemon, or other flavors.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon dried chamomile flowers (or 1 chamomile tea bag)
1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
Optional: honey, lemon, or a cinnamon stick for extra flavor
Preparation:
Boil the water: Start by bringing water to a boil. For best results, use fresh, filtered water.
Steep the chamomile: Place the chamomile flowers in a tea strainer or directly into a teapot. Pour the boiling water over the flowers. If using a tea bag, place it in a cup and pour the water over it.
Steep time:
For a mild flavor, steep for 3-4 minutes.
For a stronger infusion, steep for 5-7 minutes.
For an extra-strong and slightly bitter tea, steep for 8-10 minutes.
Strain the tea: If you used loose chamomile flowers, strain the tea into a cup using a fine mesh strainer. If using a tea bag, simply remove it.
