‘Spider-Man’ Records Biggest Opening Weekend Of All Time
Aug 5, 2026
‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has smashed records with a $360 million domestic debut, becoming the biggest opening weekend in box office history.
The Marvel blockbuster outperformed projections, overtaking 2019's ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ which previously held the record with a $357 million domestic launch.
Marvel is now responsible for the four biggest domestic debuts of all time. The previous installment in the Spider-Man series, ‘No Way Home,’ ranks third with $260 million.
Globally, Sony and Marvel’s fourth Tom Holland Spider-Man adventure opened to a staggering $932 million over its three-day launch.
Strong audience reception and limited competition position ‘Brand New Day’ for a dominant summer run, leaving it well-placed to surpass $2 billion worldwide.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film directly follows ‘No Way Home,’ which ends with the world’s memory of Peter Parker being completely erased.
