Katherine Short, the daughter of actor and comedian Martin Short, has died at the age of 42, her family has confirmed. In a statement, the Short family said Katherine was "beloved by all, and will be remembered for the light and joy she brought into the world." According to People, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to her Hollywood Hills home and paramedics pronounced her dead shortly after. Law enforcement sources reportedly told The Los Angeles Times that her death is being treated as a suicide. Adopted by Martin Short and his late wife Nancy Dolman, Katherine was the eldest of their three children. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and gender studies from NYU in 2006 and a master’s in social work from USC in 2010. Katherine went on to become a social worker and was involved with the charity Bring Change 2 Mind, which aims to end stigma around mental illness. This comes after the recent passing of actor Catherine O'Hara, who worked with Martin on the sketch show 'Second City Television' and was a close friend of the family.
