The first story today is one that makes
0:01
you wonder what's really going on in the
0:03
operating room. It's from a thread
0:05
asking, "What's the funniest secret
0:07
someone has revealed under anesthesia?"
0:09
And this one is pure gold. It's a
0:12
reminder that sometimes the truth is
0:14
stranger than fiction, and sometimes the
0:16
truth is just a hallucination.
0:19
This person's boyfriend was getting an
0:21
endoscopy, which is a pretty routine
0:23
procedure. They put you under a light
0:25
sedation, you wake up a little groggy,
0:28
and that's it.
0:30
But for this guy, it was a little
0:31
different. As he was coming out of the
0:34
sedation, he started whispering, "I need
0:37
to tell you something urgent." Now, the
0:40
nurse, she's seen it all. She just
0:43
smiled and said, "They get pretty
0:46
emotional after sedation. Nothing to
0:48
worry about." But as soon as she left,
0:51
things got really weird. He grabbed his
0:54
girlfriend's hand, his eyes wide, and he
0:56
looked around the room like he was
0:57
surrounded by enemies.
0:59
I have to confess, he whispered, his
1:02
voice full of gravity. I'm actually an
1:04
undercover spy.
1:06
He said that dating her had compromised
1:08
his entire operation.
1:11
She was trying not to laugh as he kept
1:12
glancing at the door, convinced someone
1:14
was listening in.
1:17
Then the doctor came in with the
1:18
discharge papers.
1:21
Now a normal person sees a doctor. A
1:24
sedated secret agent sees his handler.
1:29
The boyfriend's eyes went wide. He
1:31
started frantically tapping his nose and
1:33
making bizarre hand gestures. "That's my
1:36
handler," he whispered way too loudly.
1:40
"He's using a medical cover. Very
1:42
clever."
1:44
The doctor just raised an eyebrow and
1:46
continued to review the instructions
1:47
while the boyfriend kept winking and
1:49
responding with strange code phrases.
1:51
But the story doesn't end there. On the
1:54
drive home, the boyfriend suddenly
1:56
gasped and pointed at a pet store.
1:59
Emergency extraction protocol. Pull over
2:02
now. Before she could stop him, he
2:04
stumbled inside and came out with a
2:06
goldfish in a plastic bag. This is Agent
2:10
Bubbles, he announced completely solemn.
2:13
My replacement. He'll complete my
2:15
mission. 6 months later, Agent Bubbles
2:19
is still swimming in their living room.
2:21
The boyfriend claims to remember nothing
2:23
about it, but he still refuses to make
2:25
eye contact with his gastroenterologist.
2:28
Honestly, it's a great cover story.
2:31
Okay, from the hilarious to the
2:33
heartbreaking.
2:35
This next story comes from a thread
2:37
asking, "What secret did your family use
2:40
to destroy you?" This is a tale of
2:43
betrayal so deep it makes you question
2:45
the meaning of family itself.
2:48
This person, let's call him Ben, and his
2:51
cousin Alex were like brothers. They
2:53
grew up together, shared their first
2:55
car, and were inseparable.
2:59
Ben trusted Alex completely.
3:02
Then their grandma passed away.
3:05
And that's when everything changed.
3:08
After the funeral, Alex started
3:10
whispering things to the family,
3:11
painting Ben as the troubled one. He
3:15
would say things like, "Remember when he
3:16
disappeared for months?" Conveniently
3:19
leaving out the fact that Ben had been
3:20
in rehab fighting to get clean, a secret
3:23
Alex had promised to keep. The family,
3:26
trusting Alex, bought the stories. And
3:28
when the will was read, Ben got nothing.
3:32
Alex walked away with everything, the
3:34
house, the savings, even the antique
3:37
collection their grandma had promised
3:39
Ben. Ben confronted Alex outside the
3:41
lawyer's office. Alex looked him dead in
3:44
the eye, smiled, and said, "It's just
3:47
business, cousin. You'll understand
3:50
someday."
3:52
Ben was crushed. He struggled for years
3:55
while Alex flaunted his success, posting
3:57
pictures from vacation homes and living
3:59
a life that should have been partly
4:01
Ben's.
4:03
But karma, as they say, is a patient
4:05
hunter. The market crashed, Alex's
4:08
businesses failed, and his lavish
4:10
lifestyle came crumbling down.
4:13
And that's when Ben got the message.
4:15
Hey, I know it's been years, but family
4:18
is family, right? I need a loan.
4:22
Ben played along, watching his cousin
4:24
beg, letting him think help was coming.
4:28
The final message from Alex was, "You're
4:31
really going to do this?" Benja smiled,
4:34
remembering Alex's words from years ago.
4:37
It's just business, cousin. You'll
4:39
understand.
4:41
A chilling but in a way satisfying end
4:43
to a long painful chapter.
4:46
This next story is a testament to the
4:48
fact that some promises when broken can
4:51
leave a scar that never fully heals.
4:54
It's from a thread asking what's the
4:56
moment that made you hate someone you
4:58
once loved.
5:00
This is about a father's promise to his
5:02
son and the devastating betrayal that
5:04
followed.
5:06
This woman, let's call her Charlie's
5:08
mom, divorced her husband in 2010.
5:12
Their son, Charlie, was 11 and the split
5:14
crushed him. His dad moved three states
5:17
away for a fresh start with some woman
5:19
from his gym. Then came the Disneyland
5:22
promise.
5:24
Charlie was on the couch on speaker
5:26
phone with his dad when his father said,
5:29
"Hey buddy, for your 12th birthday, it's
5:31
going to be just you and me at
5:33
Disneyland. How's that sound?
5:36
Charlie's entire world lit up. Lit. He
5:39
immediately got a Mickey Mouse calendar
5:41
using his allowance to buy a red marker.
5:43
Every night he would cross off a day
5:45
counting down. He even started a
5:47
Disneyland fun jar with quarters from
5:49
his chores. He asked his mom, "Do you
5:53
think dad will let me buy him one of
5:54
those Mickey hats with his name on it?"
5:57
On his birthday, he was up at 5:00 a.m.
6:00
He'd packed his little blue suitcase a
6:02
week before, and his mom had even found
6:04
him sleeping next to it twice.
6:07
By 7:10 a.m., he was sitting by the
6:09
window in his goofy shirt, waiting.
6:12
Dad said early, "Mom," he said. Hours
6:15
passed, then dinner time. "Maybe he got
6:18
lost," Charlie said, his hope fading.
6:22
"Mom, his phone probably died. That
6:25
happens, right? His mom called straight
6:27
to voicemail. A month later, her sister
6:30
sent a Facebook screenshot.
6:33
There was her ex smiling at Cinderella's
6:35
castle with his new wife and her kids.
6:38
Charlie found out at school when some
6:40
kid showed him the post. He came home,
6:43
walked straight to his room, and took
6:45
down that Mickey Mouse calendar. He
6:48
never mentioned Disneyland again. A
6:50
promise broken, a heart shattered, and a
6:53
father-son bond severed forever. Okay,
6:57
let's pivot back to revenge. But this
6:59
time, it's a sweet, delicious, and
7:02
meticulously planned dish best served
7:04
cold. This story is from a thread
7:07
asking, "What's your I played the long
7:09
game revenge story." This person had a
7:11
friend in their weekly dinner group who
7:13
was a notorious freeloading opportunist.
7:15
He'd always push for an equal split on
7:17
the bill. He'd casually order the $80
7:19
Wagyu steak while everyone else got $16
7:21
burgers. He'd pile on fancy cocktails,
7:24
always top shelf, always multiple
7:26
rounds. Meanwhile, this person would be
7:28
sitting there nursing a single beer,
7:30
watching their bill balloon to an insane
7:32
amount. When the check came, the
7:34
freeloading friend would grab it and
7:36
say, "Let's keep it simple, guys. Just
7:38
divide by five." He said it so
7:41
confidently, like he was doing them all
7:44
a favor. The person would end up paying
7:46
$95 for a $22 meal, but they never said
7:50
a word. Instead, they got a small black
7:53
notebook from the dollar store. Every
7:55
single dinner for 6 months, they would
7:56
jot down what the freeloading friend
7:58
ordered versus what everyone else got,
8:00
the price differences, the extra rounds
8:02
of drinks, the group appetizers that
8:04
only he ate. Page after page filled up
8:07
with numbers that made their blood boil.
8:10
Then came that Saturday night at their
8:12
usual spot. The freeloading friend was
8:15
in rare form, ordering the chef's
8:17
special premium sides and three
8:20
different cocktails.
8:22
As the bill arrived, he started his
8:23
usual speech about keeping things fair.
8:27
That's when the person did it.
8:30
Without saying a word, they pulled out
8:31
that small black notebook and set it
8:33
right in front of him. They'd never seen
8:36
someone's expression change so fast.
8:39
He stared at that notebook like it was a
8:41
live snake.
8:43
The next week, before anyone even
8:45
ordered, he quietly asked for separate
8:48
checks.
8:50
The long game paid off. This next story
8:52
is a classic example of malicious
8:54
compliance and a perfect case study in
8:56
how a bad manager can cost a company
8:59
millions.
9:01
It's from a thread asking, "What's the
9:03
most expensive mistake your boss ever
9:05
forced you to make?"
9:07
The narrator of this story was a
9:09
forklift operator in a warehouse. Their
9:12
manager, a micromanaging control freak,
9:15
complained that the forklift operators
9:17
were inefficient with their routes. This
9:19
was because they were just trying to
9:21
avoid empty shelves and blocked areas.
9:23
So, he implemented a new system, follow
9:26
specific pre-mapped routes with no
9:28
deviations or face disciplinary action.
9:31
One Tuesday morning, their biggest
9:33
client placed a rush order that needed
9:35
to ship within 2 hours or they'd cancel
9:37
their $5 million annual contract. The
9:40
CEO himself called down to emphasize how
9:43
critical this was. The narrator headed
9:46
to the storage area only to discover a
9:48
broken water pipe had flooded the
9:50
official route. They called the manager.
9:54
"Sir, there's a water leak blocking the
9:56
route to section H. Can I take the back
9:59
way around?" The manager's response was
10:02
firm. Absolutely not. Follow the
10:05
approved routes only. That's why we have
10:08
them.
10:09
The narrator tried to explain that
10:11
they'd missed the deadline, but the
10:13
manager shot back, "Are you questioning
10:16
company policy? Just follow the
10:18
procedure." So, that's exactly what the
10:20
narrator did. They followed the long
10:23
route, waited for maintenance to clear
10:25
the path, and documented every single
10:27
delay as required by the new policy.
10:30
They missed the deadline by 18 minutes.
10:33
The client canled their contract that
10:36
afternoon.
10:37
The very next day, the manager called an
10:39
emergency meeting about operational
10:41
flexibility after the CEO discovered
10:44
that his rigid rooting system had cost
10:46
the company its biggest account.
10:48
Sometimes following the rules to the
10:50
letter is the best revenge.
10:53
This next story is a masterclass in
10:55
courtroom drama and the ultimate tables
10:58
turned moment.
10:59
It's from a thread asking, "What's the
11:02
most satisfying tables turned moment
11:04
you've witnessed in court?" The narrator
11:06
was working at a courthouse when they
11:08
saw a mechanic get sued for destroying a
11:10
customer's Ferrari.
11:12
The plaintiff was a wealthy businessman
11:14
who claimed the mechanic had
11:16
intentionally ruined his $300,000 car
11:19
after a payment dispute. The evidence
11:22
seemed overwhelming. Security footage
11:24
showed the mechanic working on the car
11:26
for almost an hour. Witnesses testified
11:29
they saw him handling engine components.
11:32
The businessman drove off and the engine
11:34
broke down completely.
11:36
Repairs would cost $80,000.
11:40
The businessman presented oil analysis
11:42
showing contamination and tire pressure
11:44
logs showing tampering.
11:46
Throughout the prosecution's case, the
11:48
mechanic sat calmly, occasionally
11:50
whispering to his lawyer, who did
11:52
nothing. When it was the mechanic's
11:53
turn, his lawyer asked just one
11:56
question.
11:57
Did you ever touch the car that day? The
12:00
mechanic's response was a simple, "No,
12:03
sir." He then revealed his brilliant
12:05
plan. I saw him draining his own oil the
12:08
night before. He planned to scam me, so
12:11
I pretended to work while documenting
12:12
everything the camera angle doesn't
12:14
show.
12:16
He then produced footage showing the
12:17
businessman tampering with the car
12:19
himself. The judge dismissed the case
12:21
immediately. The businessman now faces
12:24
insurance fraud charges. A genius play
12:27
that turned the tables completely.
12:29
This next story is a powerful reminder
12:31
that heroes aren't always in capes.
12:34
Sometimes they're just people who stand
12:36
up for what's right, even when it costs
12:38
them. It's from a thread asking, "Who is
12:42
your real life superhero?" This person
12:44
grew up with cerebral palsy. As a kid,
12:46
their mom convinced them that having CP
12:48
was cool and that the canes they used
12:50
were badass. But in high school, that
12:52
all changed. They met a kid named Brad,
12:55
the principal's son, who made it his
12:57
life's mission to make fun of them.
13:00
Brad would pretend to push their canes,
13:02
causing them to fall. And he was never
13:04
in trouble because his dad was the
13:06
principal. The person's parents weren't
13:08
rich, and it took them a while to save
13:10
up for special shoes designed for them.
13:13
On the first day they wore them to
13:15
school, Brad stole them from the
13:16
changing room during gym class and threw
13:18
them in the garbage. They never saw
13:20
those shoes again. But their math
13:22
teacher, who hated the principal, got
13:24
wind of this.
13:26
He pulled Brad into his classroom, and
13:29
the entire school could hear him
13:30
shouting. The principal actually fired
13:33
the teacher for yelling at his son. But
13:36
as the teacher came to pack up his
13:38
things, he gave the person a brand new
13:39
pair of shoes he had bought for them. A
13:41
simple, powerful act of kindness that
13:43
showed them what a real hero looked
13:45
like.
13:46
The final story today is a chilling
13:48
account of a child's resilience and a
13:50
parent's worst nightmare. It comes from
13:52
a thread asking parents of killers what
13:54
happened.
13:56
This story, however, has a twist that
13:58
changes everything. The narrator, a
14:00
parent, started hearing that their son
14:02
was being bullied constantly in school
14:04
because of a huge birthark on his
14:06
shoulder. After one day, when the bully
14:09
tried to cut the birthark off, they took
14:11
their son out of school. But the bully,
14:14
a real monster, found their address and
14:16
would wait outside their house to taunt
14:17
him. The parents went to the police, but
14:20
they refused to do anything, not
14:22
considering it a serious matter. For a
14:25
while, the bully disappeared, and the
14:26
family thought it was over. But then he
14:28
found out their son had been named MVP
14:30
on his soccer team. The next day, the
14:32
bully threw a brick through their living
14:34
room window and climbed into their house
14:36
with the intention of hurting their son.
14:38
He started searching for him, calling
14:39
out his name. What he didn't know was
14:43
that their son was in his room with his
14:45
older brother, who just happened to be
14:46
holding their father's loaded firearm.
14:48
The bully kicked open the door, ready to
14:50
do who knows what, and was immediately
14:52
met with two rounds straight to the
14:54
chest. The sons, 13 and 14 at the time,
14:57
were not charged. It was ruled as
14:59
self-defense. A horrifying situation,
15:01
but a testament to the lengths a person
15:03
will go to protect their family. And
15:05
that's all the stories for today. Thank
15:07
you for tuning in. These stories are a
15:10
powerful reminder of the incredible
15:11
highs and devastating lows of the human
15:14
experience. If you have a story of your
15:16
own, share it in the comments below.
