Welcome back to our study of the book of Hebrews, today we'll be looking at Hebrews 6:1-8, a passage that mainly deals with the dangers and consequences of Spiritual immaturity. We saw in Hebrews 5:11-14 that the writer was warning his readers against spiritual immaturity. He said that they were still at the stage of an infant when it came to their spiritual growth because they still weren’t acquainted with the elementary principles of the doctrine/teaching about Jesus Christ. In verses 1-8, he will be telling them and ultimately us about the implications of spiritual immaturity.

hello good morning and uh welcome back to our study of the book of uh hebrews
0:05
today we're gonna begin chapter six and we're only gonna look at verses one through eight last week we talked about
0:11
spiritual immaturity and we talked about the fact that god is not pleased when as
0:16
believers seasoned believers we remain at the stage of an infant in christ and we talked about why
0:24
you know the jewish believers that under the writer was addressing in his letter he told them that the reason why he
0:30
couldn't talk to them more about melchizedek is because they were still at the stage of an infant and they
0:36
couldn't really understand uh the deep things of god that he wanted to convey to them concerning melchizedek and then
0:42
today he's going to talk about the dangers and the consequences of spiritual immaturity now in his in
0:48
verses 11 to 14 we talked about some foundational pieces about jesus christ and we didn't go into details about them
0:56
but today we're going to look at that we're going to talk about those foundational pieces and we're going to talk about the fact that those things
1:02
are to be almost like the abcs when it comes to knowing christ and being acquainted with
1:08
his ways and as a seasoned believer and when i say season is someone that has been in the church for a few months like
1:14
many years maybe three four five years at that time after two even after two three years you should be able to know
1:21
the abcs of the basic principles of the deduction of jesus christ so
1:26
um the writer of the book of hebrews he is telling his readers listen i told you about spiritual immaturity and is is not
1:33
without consequences there are consequences when you are not mature in christ when you remain at the stage of
1:38
an infant there are things that are going to hurt you along the way and that's what he's going to be talking
1:43
about in verses 1 through 8. so now what i'm going to do is i'm going to read under scripture and
1:49
then we're going to try to unpack it now again hebrews chapter 6 5 4. those past
1:55
those are portions are really really hard to interpret so i've been leaning
2:00
on an expository book that i've had i've been given by uh my former pastor pastor
2:06
jim nelson i don't have it on me here actually have it so i've been looking at that i said wait till i really capture
2:12
uh what the passage is saying again to interpret scripture we must be first involved by the holy spirit because he
2:18
is the one that wrote the scriptures so he knows what he wrote he knows how to interpret it so it's always good to look
2:24
at good resources and to always heavily rely on the spirit of god because he's the one that leads us and and i'll say
2:31
this like scripture always interprets scripture so when you come across a passage that is hard it's better to
2:37
to see if there's anything in the scripture that is remotely close to that passage to kind of have some some better
2:44
understanding so with that said i'm going to read hebrews 6 verse 1 to 8 and
2:49
then we are going to try to unpack that so the scripture says and i'm reading from the esv
2:56
therefore let us leave the elementary doctrines of christ and
3:01
go on to maturity now laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works
3:08
and of faith toward god and of instruction about washings the laying on of hands the resurrection of the dead
3:15
and eternal judgment and this we will do if god permits for it is impossible
3:22
in the case of those who have once been enlightened who have tasted the heavenly gift and have shared in the holy spirit
3:30
and have tasted the goodness of the word of god and the powers of the age to come
3:35
and then have fallen away to restore them again to repentance since they are crucifying once again the son of god to
3:43
their own harm and holding him up to contempt for land that has drunk the rain that
3:49
for often falls on it and produces a crop useful to those who
3:54
those for whose sick it is cultivated receives a blessing from god but if he
4:00
bears thorns and thistles it is worthless and near to being cursed and
4:05
his saint is to be burned this is the word of god again this scripture here is probably
4:13
one of the hardest to interpret what i believe the spirit of god will give us
4:18
light into this now verses one and two say therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of
4:26
christ and go unto maturity now laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works
4:32
and of faith toward god and of instruction about washings the laying on of hands the resurrection of the dead
4:38
and eternal judgment now if you were here last week uh in hebrews 5 11 to 14
4:46
the writer was warning his readers against spiritual immaturity okay he said that they were still at the stage
4:52
of an infant in christ and when he came to their spiritual growth and they were still not
4:57
acquainted with the elementary principles of the doctrines of christ okay they were still learning their abcs
5:04
and couldn't quite make a full sentences yet that's the analogy that he's given them he's saying
5:09
you are you guys are still at the the stage of an infant and now you start the next uh verses one
5:15
verse one of uh hebrews chapter six therefore basically saying because i've told you these things now
5:22
let us leave this elemental reduction of christ and go on to maturity so we are
5:27
going to we are going to look at these foundational pieces okay because the the the
5:33
spiritually mature christian is characterized by a departure from the foundation of pieces about the doctrine
5:40
of christ provided they are fully understood provided that those foundational pieces are understood you
5:46
can't move on to from your abc's unless you understand the abcs okay to be able
5:53
to make full sentences you have to know your abc's so before you go into maturity those foundational pieces about
6:00
jesus have to be understood and then he proceeds to define what
6:05
those species are and we are going to look at them in detail now the first one is repentance from dead works
6:12
repentance from dead works so basically according to the writer as a seasoned
6:18
believer once you know that salvation begins by acknowledging
6:24
one's sin before god okay if you don't confess your sins before god and recognize how ugly they are you're not
6:30
gonna move on from that state you first have to come to a full realization that you've offended god and you you confess
6:38
to sin because scripture tells us if we confess our sins he's faithful and just to forgive us our
6:44
sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness first you have to acknowledge those sins before god and no
6:50
this is wrong and then the next thing is a change in your mind okay you you you basically say to the
6:58
lord you know you can feel remorse for your sins there's one thing to feel remorse for your sins and say well i'm sorry for
7:03
what i've done was another thing to ask god for the strength to no longer do
7:08
those things for the strength to no longer indulge in those sin so basically the writer is telling his
7:14
readers first thing is first set of your abcs is understand the
7:20
meaning of repentance and not only understand it cognitively but also let that transform you because repentance is
7:27
not just something that we think about but it's something that we do okay it begins with acknowledging your
7:32
sin before god understanding how ugly they are and then saying to the lord lord please give me the strength to not
7:39
go in that direction is a change in direction repentance from those dead works
7:44
again we can go to galatians 5 to see a list of those uh that works i'm going to
7:49
go to galatians 5 and we're going to read verse 19 to 20. listen to what scripture says
7:56
now the works of the flesh are evident sexual immorality impurity sensuality idolatry sorcery
8:05
enmity strife jealousy feats of anger rivalry dissensions divisions envy
8:12
drunkenness orgies and things like this now listen to what he says i warn you as
8:19
i warned you before that those who do such things will not
8:25
inherit the kingdom of god but then he gives the fruit of the spirit the fruit
8:30
of the spirit is love joy peace patience kindness goodness
8:37
faithfulness gentleness self-control and he says against such things there is no
8:44
law and those who belong to jesus christ have crucified the flesh with his
8:49
passions and desires you see repentance from those dead works
8:55
but then you don't just repent and say well i'm not gonna do this anymore because the next thing is this you don't
9:00
do what the flesh does but now you do what the spirit enables you to do so is a departure from those that works
9:07
and then um a beginning of uh sanctification the works of the the holy
9:13
spirit in you so that's the first foundation of peace is repentance from dead works okay and the next
9:19
foundational element is faith toward god now as a seasoned believer
9:25
the writer is telling them once you know that without faith it's impossible to please god now these two elements which
9:32
is repentance and faith are both gifts of god because it is god who grant us
9:37
repentance he's also god who works in us both to will and act according to his
9:42
own purpose so faith and repentance are both granted by god so if god allows you to repent
9:48
it's a gift if it gives you faith it is a gift it is a gift of god so that no one can boast it is not something that
9:55
we can do it is a gift that god grants to those he chooses it's a gift of god
10:01
because by nature we are objects of wrath we come out for the mother's mother's womb dead on arrival we hate
10:08
god as soon as we come out of our mother's womb this is why we do what we do we sin
10:13
because we are born sinners okay us our sins that we do is because
10:18
of our sinful nature so it's god that has to grant us to repentance to say what i'm doing is
10:24
wrong and i need to change direction and then he grants you faith to believe in him and to change that so this is the
10:31
next piece in in in the foundational element is faith toward god if you go to acts 11 18 listen to what
10:38
the scripture says here this is when peter went to cornelius and then he preached the gospel to them and then
10:45
they were saved listen to what he says there when they heard these things they felt silent and they glorified god
10:51
saying then to the gentiles also god has granted repentance that leads to life
10:59
see the jewish believers at the time they didn't think that they did um they were only going to the jews and they
11:05
were preaching the good news to the jews now paul um peter was called to go to cornelius who was a
11:11
roman was a gentile and he preached the gospel to them and as he went to the house of cornelius
11:17
cornelius and his household they began to as peter was preaching they began to speak in tongues
11:23
and and and peter was surprised he goes wow even to them god has granted this
11:28
gift of the holy spirit so when he came back to his people they criticized him for going to gentiles and he told them
11:35
the entire account and that's when they realized wow salvation and repentance
11:40
has been granted also to the gentiles now gentiles are people like me and if you are not a jew then you are
11:46
considered a gentile so it's a great it's something that god grants to people and you can see that in this scripture
11:52
here now so that's the next foundational piece okay so repentance and faith they
11:58
go hand in hand because uh first you must acknowledge your sins before god and then you change your mind and again
12:05
all this is granted by god by his conviction from the holy spirit and next
12:10
you put your trust in christ so the writer says that a seasoned believer should know these abcs repentance and
12:17
faith those are the first two foundational pieces and then the next thing is uh
12:22
the next set of foundational pieces are washings and baptisms and they're laying on a veins
12:29
now these have to do with the personal the person's relationship with the local assembly of believers
12:35
your congregation because after a person gets saved they repent and they put their trust in
12:41
jesus the next step is to publicly declare to everybody that they identified with
12:48
jesus in his death burial and resurrection that's the next thing so the baptism was a declaration
12:54
of new life under the authority of christ the old man was dead with his dead works the
13:00
scenes were washed away but being immersed in the water the ins itself doesn't wash away your sins it's the
13:07
blood of christ that washes away your sins okay so this this is the next those are the next unfoundational pieces which
13:13
is baptism and the laying on of pain so the baptism if you go to first period 3 verse 20 to 21 listen to
13:20
what the scripture says because they formally did not obey when god's patience waited in the days of
13:27
noah while the ark was being prepared in which a few that is eight persons were
13:33
brought safely through water baptism which correspond to this now saves you not not as a removal of dirt
13:40
from the body but as some appeal to god for a good conscience through the resurrection of jesus christ now if you
13:48
go this is so basically the blood of christ washes away our sins and he does worship he takes away the sins he takes
13:55
away the sins is basically he removes sins from us that's what the blood of christ does the old
14:02
system can do that only the blood of jesus has worth and is worthy to do that
14:07
now the next set of elements is the laying on our paint and that symbolized um
14:12
the shedding of some blessing or the sudden a part of a person for ministry again once again according to the writer
14:19
the seasoned believer should know all these things you should know about repentance faith you should
14:25
know about baptism they should know about the land on offense all those abcs should be understood and there's one
14:31
more a foundational piece the last foundation of pieces they were the resurrection from the dead and then eternal judgment
14:38
so the writer is telling his readers you need to move on to maturity by leaving these foundational pieces behind you
14:45
need to know about faith and repentance you need to know about laying on your hands in baptism and you need to know
14:50
about the resurrection and eternal judgment those things should be like for a season believer
14:57
those are the abcs those are the foundational elements anyone that has been the christ
15:02
follower for at least a year or two should be acquainted with these ways and this is why the right is telling them
15:08
listen you guys need to move on from that that place okay so
15:14
um he he's he's basically telling them look you've been a christian now for how many years and you still don't know this
15:21
and i'm submitting to you the same thing like if you've been a believer for at least two years and you still don't know that as a
15:26
believer you need to repent from dead works and you need to have faith and that you your
15:32
baptism and in laying on your head all these things should be understood eternal judgment and the resurrection
15:37
those are things that should be part of your dna by now because if you don't understand these pieces
15:44
other things are going to be hard for you to understand this is why sometimes you hear people say well you know like
15:51
i my christian life is private you know if somebody else want to be a muslim and they want to do that you know what am i
15:56
to tell them that they are wrong i'm not saying you should go out you should go out and start blasting people
16:02
but you know that they are wrong because they don't believe in jesus because scripture says that he is the way the truth and the life so
16:08
if you don't know these pieces if you don't know about eternal judgment resurrection if you don't know about
16:13
repentance from dead works then you have this kind of conversation you can tell if a believer is is a
16:20
mature or not by the way they're speaking by the things that they do so spiritual immaturity is is very
16:26
dangerous and we're going to talk about the dangers of that in a little bit but in this specific letter the writer has a
16:32
purpose for saying that and we're going to get to it shortly now in verse three he makes like his is like an important
16:38
remark and i want to single that out because in verse three he says the following and this we will do if god
16:45
permits basically this we will do is what the question is we will do what
16:50
basically saying we will move on to maturity we will leave these elementary teachings about christ behind but one
16:57
thing the writer communicates is that moving on to maturity spiritual growth a work of god through his holy spirit you
17:04
can't move on to maturity unless these species are understood and it is god again we enables that growth
17:11
okay tell me why someone sometimes you see someone that has been a christian for maybe a year and he knows so much
17:17
now when i say no so much i'm not talking about somebody that's puffed up or someone who
17:23
god has taken a hold of his life and he just uh is on fire for the lord in the sense that you see him growing and then
17:30
you have somebody else that's been a christian for like 10 years and still doesn't know the the those elementary
17:36
pieces about jesus christ and they still do the same thing every sunday they go to church and they leave their bible in
17:41
their car they don't get into it now those people maybe god has a different plan for them but it is never
17:47
good to remain in a stage of an infant in christ because we must grow and and
17:53
growth is a sign of actually not just maturity was also a sign of being a true believer because someone who's who still
18:00
is like searching around and not really knowing chasing your tail almost it's like maybe you're not saved okay now it
18:08
is god who enables us to grow in our work it is god who gives the green light to anyone as to when to move on to
18:13
maturity or not it is not it's not the work of man i can't do that i can't make you stretch i can't stretch you
18:20
okay but it is god who carries anyone through their christian work so now
18:26
god knows when to stretch and and lead us to maturity so now we're gonna reach out verses four
18:32
and six those are very very important verses because the the writer makes a sudden shift
18:38
and i'm gonna spend some time in these verses because if you don't understand the background it's hard to like
18:43
understand verses four and six and listen to what he says next for it is impossible
18:49
in the case of those who have once been enlightened who have tasted the heavenly gift and have shared in the holy spirit
18:56
and have tasted the goodness of the word of god and the powers of the age to come
19:01
and then have fallen away to restore them again to repentance since they are crucifying once again
19:07
the son of god to their own harm and holding them up to contempt now what do these verses mean
19:14
before we get to that i need to give you a background okay so we need to to figure out we need to
19:20
know what was going on in the church at the time now again the book of hebrews is primarily addressed
19:26
to jewish believers okay and these people were being persecuted because of their faith in
19:32
christ so some of them or maybe a lot of them were being tempted to go back to
19:37
judaism and the old ways and the writer since the beginning of his letter has been proving
19:44
like from one truth to the next that jesus is superior to the laws and the prophet and to the angels and everything
19:51
so there's a reason for that because to understand verses 4 and 6 i wanted to see if there was like remotely anything
19:58
close to this in any other scriptures in the bible because scriptures again are harmonious they go hand in hand so and i
20:05
believe that the best way to understand like verses four and six is to look at um
20:11
uh the parable of the soil because it gives us some insight as to how to
20:16
interpret the scripture so we're gonna go to mark chapter four we're gonna look at verses five and six and we're also
20:22
gonna look at mark four verses six and seven and sixteen and seventeen now listen to what jesus says here
20:29
mark four verse five and six he says he's talking about a parable of the soil
20:34
okay other seed fell on rocky ground where he did not have much soil
20:42
and immediately he sprang up since it had no depth of soil and when the sun rose it was scorched and since it had no
20:49
root it waded away i'll read that again other seed
20:54
fell on rocky ground where it did not have much soil and immediately it sprang up since he had no
21:01
depth of soil and when the sun rose it was caused and since he had no root it waded away and
21:08
then he gives the explanation of this parable in verse 16 and 17. and you see and these are the ones
21:15
sown on rocky ground the ones who when they hear the word
21:20
immediately receive it with joy and they have no root in themselves but
21:26
endure for a while then when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the
21:33
world immediately they fall away i'll read that again
21:40
and these are the ones sown on rocky ground the ones who when they hear the word immediately
21:47
receive it with joy and they have no root in themselves but endure for a
21:53
while when but then when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the
21:59
world immediately they fall away so now we have some kind of an idea
22:05
what's going on here so the rocky grounds main problem in the parable of the soil was the lack of root
22:13
foundation root is synonymous with foundation okay now the people referred
22:19
to in the parable of the soil as being rocky ground had no root and only endured for a while but when times of
22:26
persecution and tribulation came because of the word immediately they fell away now this is
22:33
the thought that's been conveyed in verses four and six see the writer just mentioned the importance of having a
22:39
strong foundation he says listen there's nothing good about being spiritually mature
22:45
he just he just mentioned that now he's going to give them the reasons why and the dangers okay the reason why the
22:51
people he was addressing were being tempted to go back to judaism because of the persecution is because
22:58
they were still at the stage of an infant in christ i'll repeat that again the reason why a lot of these guys were
23:05
going back to judaism because of persecution because of the word is because they were still at the stage of an
23:13
infant in christ and the parable of the sword shows the dangers of spiritual immaturity now we can kind of tackle
23:20
verses four and six a little bit in depth here so basically the writer is telling his readers that
23:27
there is a reason for for my warning to you about remaining spiritually immature okay he's saying that those that have
23:33
once professed to be believers and have enjoyed to some extent some of the benefits of being
23:40
believers if they fall away if they shrink back and turn away from the faith they once
23:46
professed if they turn away from that there is no way to bring them back to the current again because in their
23:52
current state of being or falling away they are basically crucifying jesus
23:57
again and submitting him submitting him submitting him to open shame and hurting themselves in
24:04
the process okay in the case of his heroes because of immaturity they might have
24:10
been tempted to go back to judaism basically forsaken the perfect for the
24:16
imperfect that which cannot save them okay going back to the old system under which
24:21
their sins could not be atoned for because under the old system we saw that since we're only covered
24:28
okay they were not taken away they were only covered and so that people could be ceremonially clean it was only external
24:34
it didn't nothing for them he couldn't wash away their sins their sin could not be blotted out in
24:39
the old system so the writer is telling his readers that spiritually immaturity
24:45
isn't without consequences it can as we saw in the parable of the soil leads someone
24:51
who once professed to be a follower of christ to turn away from the faith because of persecution
24:57
and in that state that person cannot be restored to repentance because they are rejecting the very thing that's supposed
25:02
to save them okay if you if you if you turn away from christ after knowing all these things and
25:08
because of your lack of immature lack of maturity there's no way to to to go back because at that moment
25:15
you you you're turning away from that very thing that can save you so there's no room there's no
25:21
restoration you're going to be restored to what that's what he's basically telling his readers you guys have seen uh you have tested
25:28
that the holy spirit is good you have seen you have have all these things but because of your spiritual immaturity
25:35
you are tempted to go back to judaism and as a result in that state if you go
25:41
back to being to to to the old system we can't restore you because that's everything that's supposed to restore
25:46
you is what you're rejecting so there is nothing left for you and the reason why these people were doing that is because
25:52
of their spiritual e maturity so he's saying here
25:57
spiritually maturity is not without a consequence there is there are consequences to it consequences to it
26:04
there are dangers to it it's not just something that you go well you know why i'm just a baby in christ
26:09
you know there's no consequences now because when times of persecution comes
26:15
people will fall away because they have no strong roots and and jesus talks about
26:21
that even in another paragraph when it talks about the person that is on the uh
26:27
built his castle on the saint i don't know if i'm correcting i'm i'm correctly uh mentioning that scripture but you see
26:34
what it means like the wind came and the storm came and he was destroyed but those that have
26:39
a solid foundation those that are spiritually mature those that have established have been established and
26:46
and have those roots they will not fall away so easily because god himself sustains them because they are growing
26:53
this is why spiritual immaturity is dangerous because it can lead someone to fall back and to
26:59
go back to something to a certain lifestyle that is not right and in the case of these people a lot of them were
27:04
going back to to the old system and the writer has been proven since the beginning of his letter that in under
27:11
the old system sins could not be atoned for he proves that jesus is the way the truth in the life he
27:17
proved that jesus is the son of god the faithful high priest in the order of melchizedek he wanted to talk about
27:23
mercy but because of their spiritual immaturity a lot of them were falling backwards and
27:29
he's saying if you go backward there's no way to save you again because
27:34
you cannot be restored on that if you remain in that stage and that's because of your spiritual immaturity so we have
27:40
to be careful again it is god who causes growth and again when we talk when we talk about
27:47
spiritual immaturity some people may not even be saved now this is why the scripture is so hard to understand my
27:53
point is this like if the spirit of god is speaking to you and is convicting you because you are
27:59
spiritually mature consider yourself blessed because that's going to lead you to change but if you
28:05
hear these words and they mean nothing to you i i don't know what to say
28:11
i hope that god grants you ears of faith to hear these words so that it can cause
28:16
a change in you and in me because we are all in danger of of falling because again
28:23
no one should like ever say well i'm i've i've grown so much that i don't need to grow anymore no we all are
28:29
constantly in need to be stretched and to grow it's a constant thing until jesus comes
28:34
back that's when we're going to be clothed with it perfect right now we are still growing we are still being sanctified we
28:40
are still being set apart it's a process and maturity is important because
28:45
spiritually maturity has dangers and i just told you about all these dangers
28:50
so now especially in the time that we are living in now we are going through a crisis
28:57
if the coronavirus there's been things that have happened and those we've seen how the church has
29:02
been split there have been people have said certain things and there's been a lot of problems and a lot of people have been
29:08
exposed you know for being like superficial believers and that's because some of them maybe
29:14
were never believers or some of them were still at the stage of an infant and it's easy to fall back and to fall
29:20
away if you had a stage of an infant all right and then verse 8 in verses 7
29:25
and 8 he gives again an illustration here he says for land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it and produces
29:32
a crop useful to those for the sake for whose sake it is cultivated receives a blessing from god
29:39
but if he bears thorns and thistles it is worthless and near to being cursed and its hand is to be burned
29:46
basically in these verses the writer gives his readers another illustration to make his previous point clear the
29:53
spiritually immature believer in his state is likened to a land that though watered by rain
29:59
produces thorns and thistles instead of useful crops that land according to the reader is near to being
30:06
cursed by god and he and his produce would be burned the thorns and hazel will be burned they will not be kept
30:13
okay a field proof is worth by burying useful crops again a fruit a field prove its worth by
30:20
bearing useful crops in the same way a true believer is authenticated by his
30:26
spiritual progress being bearing fruit for the glory of god remember what jesus says remain in me
30:33
and i remain in you if you remain in me and my what you mean you you bear much
30:38
more food apart from me you can do nothing he is divine we are the branches so we have to remain in him we have to
30:44
remain in those strong roots he is he he is divine and we are we are what we are
30:50
the branches and his father is the vine dresser so if we are not bearing fruit in our
30:55
lives there is a problem there is a serious problem so in
31:01
conclusion what i'll say is that i'm going to ask you a quick question here have you been a believer in christ for a
31:06
long season and my question is where do you fall are you acquainted
31:12
with the basic principles of the doctrine of christ which are mentioned faith repentance laying on a faint
31:18
baptism eternal judgment resurrection do you understand those things is it like second nature is it like a part of your
31:25
dna are those things foundational to your life and do they affect and do they
31:30
inform the way you live your life because those are those pieces will inform how you live your life you gotta
31:36
look at the fruit of your life or are you ashamed to stand for the truth do you make excuses for why you don't
31:42
want to speak the word of god boldly do you identify with christ even if it means you will be going
31:49
against the crowd do you identify with jesus okay do you use terms like i'm a private christian you know my faith is
31:55
private because your answers to this question will inform where you stand when it comes to spiritual maturity
32:02
okay there's no game plan here god is going to expose those who are his and he's going to
32:07
chastise and then discipline those whom he loves if we are spiritually immature he's going to cause us to grow i
32:14
remember 2016 it was probably one of the worst time of my life but that's when i grew the most because
32:20
i was still immature in my walk i thought i was mature but i wasn't and god had to stretch me it was very
32:27
painful but the pain was worth it because it causes you to really look at
32:34
your life from a different standpoint from a different like vantage point and and god is about to really shake up
32:41
the church it's gonna shake us up when he's coming so be prepared
32:47
now next week we're gonna talk about the good news i know so far we've been talking about how the dangers are
32:52
spiritually maturity but the verse nine and the rest of the verses talk about the good news in the sense that
32:58
for those who god loves even though at some point we may we may like like we
33:03
may it may seem like we are falling away god is able to restore
33:09
us so there is good news and uh next people gonna talk about that all right okay have a wonderful day
33:16
and i'll see you next monday
