Imagine that every snap of my fingers is an hour where somebody loses 10,000 euros in online scams

And that's exactly what's happening only in the country of Czech Republic

Hey, we're the Honest Guides, and today we're going to talk about online scams

And what you just saw was a video that was actually recorded by my friend

and he allowed a scammer to go inside of his computer. It was all controlled

He's an IT expert. So he just wanted to watch what the scammer would do

And obviously, the scammer went after his internet banking. So at one point, he just kicked him out

You know that we usually do scams that happen on the streets of Prague

but we've already made a video about online scams. And it was mostly related to like Facebook marketplace scams

where people send you a text message that they want to buy something from you

but they're trying to get onto your credit card. But the scams are evolving, and people share their scams with us

And just recently, somebody sent us an email where she explained that she got a phone call from a bank saying

watch out, you're being scammed. Now, this person was actually pretending not to be from like a private bank

but from the Czech National Bank. and even the Czech National Bank warned about this on their Facebook

Now basically what the scammers are doing here is they're keeping up with the trend

They know there are YouTubers who warn people that there are scammers and they will say

you know, don't fall for these scams. There's a lot of them. So what do the scammers do

They'll call, pretend to be a bank and tell you, oh yeah, watch out for these scams

Just make sure you give me your credit card number and I prevent you from a scam Think about that Can I give a little comparison to the street scams we do Because there are some similarities

You know those money scammers that stand by exchange offices and say, do not exchange money here, it's a bad exchange office

Now, we're inside of a complex of one of the Czech banks that has one of the most beautiful buildings, by the way

And they have an entire department that only takes care of online scams

So they call their clients if they're being scammed and they prevent that from happening and they can stop hundreds of scams a day

That being said, sometimes they fail. Like they gave us a phone call where one of their clients was being scammed

And you know, they have those little red lights that just go off in their offices and they're like

oh, our client is being scammed. Let's call him and make sure everything's all right

And despite all this, the client still fell for the trick and he called back the next day

I know this is going to sound harsh, but the banks have everything all right

Everything is safe and under control. The only mistake that can happen the only person that can take the wrong step is us or you or me it a human factor

there's 50 times more online scams than there was. And we're not really successful at catching them

but sometimes we do. So here's a video footage of Czech and Ukrainian police

uncovering a gang. You can see all those phone chargers, all those computers that they used to scam

And it's always a pleasant sight to see them on the ground in their underwear

Now, if you come across an online scam, and I'm sure you will know it's an online scam

You can obviously write something funny like this. You can keep the guy online for as long as possible so he doesn't scam anyone else

This may sound weird, but if you ever get into a situation where you might be getting scammed

calm down, slow down, maybe even stop, hang up the phone. Nothing bad is going to happen

Maybe call someone who's a better expert in it. Maybe call your son if he's more educated in that topic

Or maybe if you're a kid, call your parents to make sure that what is happening is legit
