Edamame is a great source of protein and essential amino acids. It is a vegetable that comes from Asia and has become popular among gardeners in North America. Caring and growing edamame is not hard but it requires consistency. Some key elements to growing and caring for your edamame are: - Make sure it gets plenty of sun - Water it regularly, especially during the growing season - The soil must drain well and be compost-enriched - Watch the temperature (55-65 for plating in Spring and 60-90 in the Summer) - Do not grow your edamame in pots, they are meant to grow outside - Allow enough time before harvesting (75-110 days) - If your plant goes over the three feet mark add some form of support
