Exploring The Dam in Long Lake Provincial Park - Halifax, Nova Scotia

This large earthworks dam was constructed to supply water for the city of Halifax. When it was de-commssioned in 1977, talks immediately began about protecting this un-spoiled nature. Wise decisions back then resulted in the huge asset Long Lake Provincial Park is to the people of Halifax today.
