Applying for KOICA Scholarship

Welcome to another video for Global Scholarship for International Students

And today we'll be covering Kauika scholarships, which is offered by Korea International

Cooperation Agency. And I'll go over one of the scholarships offered by Kauika so that I can show

you the application process and also the admissions procedure regarding the scholarship

So we're just going to exit our presentation and go to the main homepage of Coika Scholarship. You can easily find this by typing Coika Scholarship

And I also have provided the link in the description down below, so make sure you follow

along with me. So as you go on the homepage, you'll see two sections over here. You'll see

the notice section and the application section. Since we already know what the Coika Scholarship

is about, we're just going to go straight into the application section. And after going to the

application section on there are several um scholarship that are being offered in

variety of programs so you'll see one similarity here and that is that is

only offered for master's degree program and that means you have to complete

your undergraduate education okay so um I'll just choose the first one and

Let's go along with it. So, if you click on any one of them, you'll see the program title, duration, and the Training Institute

For this, it's Brousaum National University, and it also has number of awards, which is 20 people

And it has no, you need three recommendations. Applicants are possible to get recommendations

We'll talk about this when we're filling out a required form. So there are two main steps for coica scholarships

And the first one is that you need to qualify for this scholarship. And the second one is you need to apply for the scholarship after being qualified

Okay. So how do we pass the qualification stage? So if you scroll down here, you'll see the application guideline

So click on that and you'll be led to this page. So, if you see the application guideline, you'll see that KUICO scholarship program is only for master's degree

and it's designed to nurture key leaders in developing countries who can contribute to the socio-economic development of their home countries

So you need to be from one of these target countries. And if you are not, you cannot apply for this scholarship

So, look at Asia, Africa, Latin America, Middle East, and CIS. So this is set by the Korean government

So you need to be from one of these target countries. So if you scroll down, available universities and field of studies

So if you look at it here it lists whatever that they offering here So course title Global ICT Policy and the sector is technology environment and energy

So you need to choose the sector that interests you the most and the major that will help you the most. Okay

So all applicants can take only one course for application of Coika program

And you can also search for available courses, but it's also listed right here

So make sure you click on the one that you would like to apply

So this is the qualification stage. You need to pass all this requirement in order to apply

So the first one is that you need to be a citizen of that of the target countries listed above

And also you need to be officially nominated by your government. So, you can either be a government employee with a minimum of two years of experience in the field of study

so, or you can apply by using two letters of recommendation from your government office and also from your Korean Embassy

Okay? So Korean Embassy, so these are the two ways. Either be dominant

by your government by working for the government in the first place or also be nominated by two

letters of recommendations so the third one is the age limit you have to be under 40 and you have to be

in good health so you can probably prove this by taking a physical examination in a local hospital

and also there is a limit on your level of education which is you know

which is you need to have completed a bachelor's degree, which is your undergraduate program, or it's equivalent

Okay? So six, since these classes for Kouika scholarships in Korea, will be taught in English

So you need to be proficient in English, excuse me, and you need to be proficient at it

So you need to speak. English well and also listen and also write English well since all classes will be conducted entirely in English and you will write reports also in English

So, 7. Not be a person who has withdrawn from Coika Scholarship Program. This is pretty straightforward

Have not previously participated in the Coika Scholarship Program or any of the Korean Government Scholarship Program

And you need to qualify for admissions to the university that you're applying for, which is Busan National University

If you do well academically in your undergraduate career and if you have experience, you will pass this qualification service

Okay? So after passing the qualification, we can go straight into the application procedure

but let just quickly look at what this scholarship covers So it covers your airfare So it starts from the beginning So when you coming to Korea they will pay for your plane ticket and they will also pay for your return plane ticket as well

So they'll pay for your tuition fees. They will pay for extracurricular activities such as going out for a field trip

And they will also give you a monthly allowance, such as for personal expenses

and for here it says meals, books, and study supplies. And they also pay for your accommodation, which is your living fees

Settle on allowance is a fee that is required such as to settle in to Korea

And also, there is, if you complete your scholarship, there is additional money that is given to you

for you to go back home and settle back home as well

And last but not least, it also covers your insurance. also coverage your insurance fees. Okay

So if you go down to selection procedure, you'll be required the first step is applying for this scholarship

So what do you need to fill out to apply for Coika's clarion

So you have passed the qualification stage, which is listed right here

And after passing that, you can just go back to the page that we started out with and go to the PDF file, the first PDF file

And if you click on that, you'll be led to a 30-page program information

It will just set the basic details. And what we will be focusing in is part 5, the required document

So it's page 25, okay? So we're just going to go straight to page 25

And we will see the required documents. So this is the fifth section, so make sure you know where we're at

All documents should be sent to the Coika Regional Office or the relevant government

office. Since you have been nominated by our government, you should know where to send the required

documents. If you don't, just make sure to contact them to know the address to send it to

So the first step is the Kouika application form. The first required document is Kauika application

form. And this should be filled out for every student. So if you look at, I think this is form

one. So we're just going to look at form one and we're going to open it

So if you come back here, the first step is Coika Application Form

So this is not it. Form 1 is not it. So we're just going to look at..

Let's look at this form. I think it is this form. Let's see, let's see

Okay. Okay, okay. So the Coika application form, the first, is the Kuika application which is written right here so if you click on that you be you have downloaded a word document and if you click on that it will go to the coica application form so this is the form that you need to complete

and it's a long list okay long list a personal information that you need to fill out and after

that you'll have finished the first part of your application okay so so we have finished number one

The next one is Form 1, which is right here. So if you click on that, you'll be led to this site

And this is for Pusan National University for them to keep you in contact

So it will basically fill out your information and all your personal information that is required by that university

which is Pusan National University in this case. And next, we have finished the second form

and the third one is Form 2 and you just download this and fill this format, okay

Okay. So after filling Form 2 and Form 3, you'll need a CV, which is basically like, what do you call it

It's basically your history, where you were employed, where did you work, where did you go to high school, where did you go to college, and additional information such as that, six copy of your passport and copies of your parents' passport, and official document indicating parent-child relationship between you and your parents, which is probably easy thing to do

in your verification of academic record which is the transcript and certificate

of employment since you should have at least two years of experience of working

and certificate proving English proficiency this is probably easy for you guys

if you're a professional English take a TOEFEL test or TPS test or IELTS test

in order to prove your English proficiency. Okay. Okay. And I think this is it

It also gives you the contact information in which you can ask some questions

And basically, this form just tells you what the program is, what the program covers

a quick overview of Busan National University, which is your training institute for this one

and the academic regulations of Busan National University. So, I've provided all the information that you need, and your turn is to

your turn, it's your turn now, and your part is to use the information that I have provided

to apply for this scholarship, and hopefully, get accepted to a scholarship program
