Okay, I think we're live. Should be. So, all right. Hi everyone,
0:08
it's Global Scholarships and I'm your host as I hope you're all doing well. I hope everything is going great. As
0:14
always, we are here for another weekly live stream, another Friday, another live stream. If you're new here, uh we
0:20
do this every Friday, pretty much every Friday. Sometimes like we have to get take the day off or something like that
0:26
but usually we are here every Friday. Basically this is a Q&A live stream about scholarships as you can see it's a
0:33
scholarship live stream about studying abroad that that type of thing basically. Uh hang on.
1:29
Um, okay, I'm back. Sorry about that. Anyway, hi everyone. As always, this is a Q&A live stream. Basically, we are uh
1:36
global scholarships. We're a platform that shares a lot of informative stuff about scholarships, about stuff. Hi, our
1:42
proy. It's great to see you here as always. Welcome to our live stream. Um, anyway, so this is our platform. This is
1:49
our website. Basically, we do have a website. We do have a YouTube channel. We also do have a Tik Tok account. Um,
1:56
we are kind of a little behind on that front. Um, I'm planning to like share
2:02
new stuff in there uh pretty soon actually. Anyway, so here we have a lot
2:08
of information about scholarships. We have guides about scholarships. We have guides about studying in different
2:14
countries. Uh, finding cheap and free universities. Uh hi there Sheriff Abed.
2:20
So basically this is a live stream Kel live stream but um one little odd thing
2:25
about this is that I'm here as the host. So basically uh what we're going to do
2:31
today is we're going to talk about like scholarships uh study abroad opportunities a little bit and first
2:38
half hour will be that but at any point you can just uh ask your questions in the chat and we're going to put them in
2:45
a question box and in in about like 20 25 minutes our expert like our actual
2:50
expert Aman will be here to answer all of them very fast like rapid fire questions. Bam bam bam is going to
2:56
answer them. Uh so like so that we don't really waste his time more uh like
3:01
talking about like this and that and etc. So if you have any questions at any point uh feel free to ask them. I'm
3:07
going to do my best to answer those questions. Uh but I'm not the real expert here. I'm just the host. I have
3:13
some information that I've accumulated uh like in the last year about scholarships etc etc. So if you have any
3:21
questions at any point just feel free to ask them. Okay. So if you're new here,
3:26
uh this is our website. Uh you can get a lot of information about scholarships, ton of information about different
3:32
schools. So we have a search tool. Basically, if you have a university in mind, let's say you want to study in
3:38
Oxford, right? A lot of people want want to study in Oxford. Uh here we can choose Oxford. Uh of course, and that
3:46
that is going to take you to our page, the page that we have for that university. As you can see, this is the
3:51
page that we have for this school. Uh and you get a lot of information here like uh the location, the population,
3:58
and number of scholarships. Uh this is of course a United Kingdom, so there are a lot of scholarships, but usually they
4:04
are not for either they're not for everyone. Uh sometimes they're for specific nationalities. Sometimes
4:10
they're they're for um people like displaced people, people who are looking for uh like refugees or looking for
4:17
sanctuary, etc. And a lot of them are uh just partial funding. If you don't know
4:22
what that means, we're going to talk about that in a second. So, but yeah, we have all of these here. And if you're
4:29
just interested in scholarships, you can just click here and it will take you to our like scholarship section. But we do
4:35
also have a lot of other stuff here. Um like learning about admissions. You can just click on any one of these to go and
4:42
learn about their admission process from the university. Like we have a lot of like links that you can click to go and
4:49
get more information directly. uh from the university or whichever uh we have
4:55
some uh scholarship and admission results. Basically these are some results that we have found uh from
5:01
people applying to this university. So for example we have five um for Oxford
5:06
and as you can see these are all accepted. they have their SATs uh ACTs
5:12
uh their expected family contribution which means for example like if they have no expected family contribution
5:19
which means that like um if they they're accepted for example uh like this person
5:25
from Asia with 1540 SAT no uh EFC no GPA
5:32
uh and they're accepted for a fully funded scholarship which means basically the university covers all of their um
5:38
educ educational costs basically like living costs, tuition etc etc. So yeah,
5:44
we have that. We have deadlines. We have of course the tuition. So um if you if
5:50
you're planning to study in let's say I don't know United States, in United Kingdom, in Canada, Australia, um
5:59
less so in places like Japan, but like still uh in a lot of other countries as
6:04
well. Um your main cost will probably be like your tuition
6:10
because uh for example this is about I guess about $40 $50,000
6:16
and if you're um planning to study in United States your tuition will be about like between 30 and 60 or something like
6:23
that. So tuition is very important. Um there are some places that you don't have to pay any tuition or like very
6:29
little tuition and we're going to talk about that. for example uh some very very very affordable universities in
6:35
Austria uh we're going to see those okay pro says can you help which units units
6:41
sorry is best for low tution fees or to get 90 to 100% scholarship for master in
6:47
computer science and also can this possible who have low GPA so you know
6:54
what um let's we'll look at this uh look into these later so um there are a a lot
7:01
of places if you're planning to study a masters uh that offer offer a lot of
7:08
scholarships um subjects usually do not matter all that much. For example, I'm
7:14
uh I'm planning to um like I've made a video like we're making a video about
7:19
seven full funding scholarships sorry in Scandinavia, right? Uh so about like six
7:26
of these hang on actually. Yeah. I know seven of these uh scholarships all of
7:31
them are available for master students and there are some countries they're full they're all full funding by the way
7:36
we're going to like we can see them in a second but there are certain countries in for especially in uh like Europe
7:43
places like Netherlands or Belgium uh they do have a lot of um full funding
7:49
scholarships for masters so actually you know what let's use our search tool
7:55
uh so when it comes to um low GPA Okay. Uh let's ask about that uh let's ask
8:02
Aean about that in like like 15 minutes or so uh when he comes. But usually um
8:08
the universities don't really care all that much about like usually your like GPA kind of matters when you get into
8:15
the university. Uh so like if they accepted you um like especially for
8:20
masters they kind of look into more like um like what research you have or
8:26
something like that. Uh Brevin says how can we apply for the scholarship from Nepal? Nepal uh can you show me the
8:33
steps? So uh can there is is there any are there any scholarships for bachelors? There are. So this is our
8:40
search tool. I'm I'm just going to share the link with you. So you can uh look into this yourself. Uh so basically we
8:48
have all these filters here. You can choose for example let's say bachelors. You can choose nationalities. Usually
8:54
nationality does not really matter like uh most scholarships are just for everyone pretty much. Uh for example,
9:01
William Pulken memorial scholarship um as you can see all nationalities. Um and
9:08
there are some scholarships for example let's choose Nepal as nationality right
9:13
um hang on you know what oh there it was.
9:22
So as you can see we have about like uh 200 2,600 scholarships in general and
9:28
when we choose Nepal uh we lose about 200 of those which means like about 90 more than 95% of all
9:36
scholarships that we have in our database they're just available for any nation does not matter anyway. So uh you
9:44
can look into these. These are for bachelors. Um you can choose full funding. Uh basically if you are so um
9:52
no we do not have that uh service. Um we do have tutorials. We we do make
9:59
tutorials for um application to universities and sometimes the university applications are pretty much
10:06
the same as scholarship applications because some scholarships don't really require any separate application. you
10:12
apply to the university and uh they automatically consider you for uh the scholarships but usually for a lot of
10:19
scholarships um you have to first apply to the university get accepted to the university and then you can apply to the
10:26
scholarship so that's why we can't make a lot of scholarship uh tutorials application tutorials because their
10:32
application procedures are usually for like that first I would have to apply to
10:38
the university commit fraud get into the university would I take application and
10:45
then have to study uh apply for the scholarship and then just not go and
10:50
study there so which like which is not something I can do really it's both like
10:55
like all kinds of problematic okay so but uh there are specific scholarships
11:02
uh for example whenever we make videos about like currently open scholarships on our channel uh you can see that I
11:08
always talk about like whether the scholarship um requires a separate application or not. Uh for example,
11:15
uh let's see this one for example. This does not require any separate application, right? Star scholarship at
11:22
Carlton College. Uh this is in United States. Basically, it says uh there is
11:28
no separate application. I have secured one 371. Can I get full scholarship or
11:33
none? It is really not that easy to say. It is kind of different for uh all
11:39
scholarship but I think 3.7 is if you're like out of
11:44
four I think that's a good GPA. Uh but it's not really possible to say that oh
11:50
yeah you'll 100% get a scholarship with that one or not. Uh but yeah it's quite
11:57
good. One thing you can do is again uh go to globalcolarships.com
12:03
and here we have scholarship stories as well. uh C admissions basically these are like a lot of um for example someone
12:11
from Latin America with 3.74 uh no SAT uh no expected um family
12:19
contribution they were accepted to Harvard College Hford College sorry Hford College um you can like uh filter
12:27
by GPA um as you can see there are for example from India with two GPA excepted to
12:34
northern Illinois University. Um there are some very low GPA uh um applications
12:41
here that are accepted. Uh and like this one for example, three University of
12:47
Massachusetts, University of Cincinnati with scholarship and like their SAT is also not that crazy high as well. So
12:55
yeah, it is possible. uh but in a lot of times like the you'd have to be accepted
13:00
to the university of course but a lot of times they are looking for the individual candidates so yeah it's it's
13:07
not just GPA there are a lot of other things that are quite important so um
13:14
Roy yeah we were talking about that right for example I'm going to show you a couple of scholarships right now or
13:20
masters so um you do have a lot of uh a lot of
13:28
those in Europe for example let's say full funding ones so one great thing about uh Europe is
13:35
that um usually like if you ex exclude the
13:40
United Kingdom a lot of the universities don't really have extremely high tuition fees for example uh here we have NL high
13:48
potential scholarship at master university and it's given to 24 people uh there are
13:55
some eligible nationalities. I'm not sure if you're one of these from one of these nationalities and it covers a lot
14:02
of things. Uh full tution and monthly stipend. We have some students from
14:08
outside EUA. Uh Switzerland or Surinam. I'm not sure why they're excluding Surinam. What did
14:14
Sururnam do? Those have not pursued a degree program in Netherlands. Not older than 35, which is usually the age limit
14:22
for a lot of like master scholarships. Uh so you can look into this uh there
14:27
are quite a few of those. This is about for example this is 38 of these and
14:32
these are just full funding programs for masters in Europe. There are other
14:38
places as well. uh for example let's see Sweden had some of those and when I was
14:44
looking for like yeah as you can see this is for public health computer engineering
14:49
right computer engineering and electrical engineering for bachelors and masters in lule university of technology
14:56
you can look into this as well um all nationalities except Sweden doesn't
15:02
really matter full funding um it covers your living expenses this is this I
15:07
believe is about you know what Let's just look.
15:13
It's about 12,000. So, that's a lot.
15:19
So, they're giving you about like $1,200 or $1,300 every month. Um, this is just for
15:28
European Union, though. Okay. Uh, so yeah, tions are use usually not
15:36
that expensive. Uh but as you probably know, Scandinavian countries are very very very expensive.
15:43
Um wait, where's the tuition? I guess tution is free, I'm guessing. So let's
15:49
see other ones. We have like graduate assistantships at home university. uh
15:54
which all nation LTS it covers uh bas basically you you go and work in
16:02
the university and it covers like it basically they give you a specific
16:08
amount of salary uh for how much you work and there are other as well of
16:13
course there in there are a lot of these in United States um United States is a
16:19
bit of kind of a bit of a gamble gamble because like if you don't get full funding scholarships or at least full
16:25
tition scholarships in United States. Uh you might have to pay about like I don't know $40,000 tuition every year which
16:33
which is really not affordable for a lot of people. But what you can do, you can just try to go to for example Germany
16:41
where you don't have to pay any tuition anyway. Usually universities are free
16:46
and you will need about€1,000 or something like that to cover your living expenses and you also get like uh
16:55
some some full tuition. These are free tuition. You get some partial funding uh
17:01
part like it says partial funding but basically for example um this is very good student assistantships at RWTH Aen
17:09
University. So basically you don't have any you don't have to pay any tuition fees. What about GPA? Shininess.
17:16
Um in Germany it's very hard to get admission. Yeah it is. It it actually is. Um again we we would need to ask
17:25
Amon about that like what countries are more likely to accept you for um with
17:31
like 3.1 GPA. Uh so like he'll be about he'll be here in about like 5 10
17:37
minutes. he'll he'll have a better idea. Um I wouldn't really know. I I think still
17:45
Europe might be your best option in the sense that uh for example um like
17:51
because in if you go to United States, if you go to Canada, if you go to a
17:57
Australia, if you go to United Kingdom, so usually those places don't have a lot
18:03
of uh scholarships that cover everything, right? uh he'll be here like
18:10
he he he joins us uh about about 30 now.
18:15
So like you would have to get some extremely uh extremely um competitive
18:22
scholarships in United States and like in a lot of very highly competitive universities as well. Uh but when it
18:28
comes to Europe because since they already don't ha don't charge you tuition
18:34
uh most scholarships that they have to give you aren't really that uh expensive
18:39
for them. Like for example this one they only give you about about like 6,000
18:46
per semester. So you get about like €12,000 per year which is pretty much how like which is pretty much your
18:53
entire living costs. It should be right. But when like when American universities
18:59
give you like a full funding university, full funding scholarship, uh you get numbers like like when you include the
19:06
tuition and you include the living cost, it comes about comes about like $100,000
19:12
every year. So it becomes incredibly expensive for them. So yeah, looking into Europe might be more affordable.
19:20
Yeah. one problem about um Europe is of course
19:26
um language. So like but uh pretty much every country in in Europe they do offer
19:34
English taught programs as well. We talk about that we talk about that all the time and I'm and I try to make like more
19:43
videos about like English taught programs English taught uh universities in different countries. They don't get a
19:50
lot of views but I think I I feel like it's important for a lot of people. Um, so yeah, uh, you can look into those.
19:57
Uh, one country, uh, one country that we don't really talk about all that much
20:02
is, um, Austria. Austria also don't have that many, um,
20:09
scholarships, but that's mainly because they also have very low tuition. For example, these are
20:17
six cheap and free universities in Austria. And like for example this one is free to everyone like all everyone
20:25
basically. So like you can click here and this is Valberg by the way it's a really good university as well. Um let's
20:31
say all currently not charged tuition fees like any like usually when you see
20:38
things like this it's like it's free to EU students but it's not free to non-EU
20:44
students. These are not like that. Uh these are all normally free for EU students, but these are also like very
20:51
affordable, but for example, these are all about €700 per semester for non-EU
20:56
students. So like this is about two, let's say 1,000,
21:02
like about $1,500 every year. Um compared to $50,000 in
21:09
United States. So um also like Austria is not that expensive.
21:17
Um let's see for example Germany can be quite
21:23
expensive based on like uh depending on where you are studying. Uh but like for
21:28
for example in different places in Austria they offer very good educationities that don't charge
21:35
admission fees. Don't charge admission fees. Um, I think we've made some,
21:41
you know, there's application fees. Um, don't charge admission fees. I don't
21:48
know. I don't really know about that. Let's look. Let's Let's ask Aean uh about that as well. I don't think we
21:54
have like a ready list about um universities that don't charge admission.
22:00
Um I don't even know if that like there's there are some universities that
22:06
give you scholarships uh that basically cover your admission fees, application fees like whatever
22:12
fees as well. Um anyway so so uh we'll ask that to Aean when it comes back when
22:18
it comes in about what 5 minutes. So for example, University of Vienna, right?
22:23
Um, we have some scholarships here as well. Like for example, this is a partial scholarship. When you look at
22:30
this scholarship, it's just a partial scholarship. It just gives you about like €3,000.
22:37
But when you consider the fact that you also pay about half that every year to
22:45
tuition, it becomes very very uh affordable. So we have some full funding
22:51
scholarships here but that's just for PhD unfortunately. Um medical university
22:56
of Vienna uh University of Salsburg for example. All of these are about €700 per
23:02
semester. Uh we made a video about that as well. Uh Vienna University of Technology. These are really good
23:08
universities by the way. Uh so this is let's see this is for masters
23:15
performance-based. So, this is for all um you have to pay only pay about like
23:22
€1,500 every year anyway. And this scholarship is about is worth about 1,500.
23:29
Basically, if you get it, you don't pay anything. Uh
23:35
so, this is performance based. So, with GPA of 2.0 or higher, which should be
23:42
applicable to you. Um let me see. This says performance based. So maybe it's like every it's renewed
23:50
uh with the requirements meet the proposal criteria
23:55
uh respective period of study additional semester so
24:05
this could be like this this might be every year I'm not sure about that uh
24:10
but yeah it is quite affordable uh Germany or for example France as well
24:16
has uh some hang on let me see they also do I believe have uh some English taught
24:24
programs and they're also quite affordable Italy does have a lot of those I think Italy is a very good
24:30
option for a lot of people um not very expensive tuitions are usually very
24:36
affordable um there are quite a number of scholarships
24:42
as well so and they do have programs in English, too. So, I think it's a good it
24:48
might be a good idea. Um, hang on.
24:55
So, it's possible to study for free in Korea or Japan. Uh, like even the
25:00
flight. So, there are some extremely generous scholarships that cover your
25:07
flight. Um, I'm not sure if any of those exist
25:12
in Japan, but actually let's let's let's look at it. Right. Let's let's type in Japan.
25:19
It's quite rare for a scholarship to cover your sorry um airplane tickets. So, we have
25:28
about 21 scholarships in Japan. It will also have a lot of scholarship, but I
25:34
don't know is this good computer science or not. Um
25:40
yeah, I think a might have a better answer, but like I don't think I think like the education you would get there
25:46
about on uh computer science would be really good. I think another option a
25:53
really good option that people kind of like sleep on is China. China do also
25:58
offers programs. Hang on, Rashid. We're gonna get back to that in a second, but
26:04
like I want to show something. So let's say China China not only offers programs
26:09
uh in English or French for example Shanghai University but also uh they
26:15
have specific scholarships just for English or French programs
26:22
China let's say full funding and usually scholarships in China um they have like
26:29
different levels so like even if you don't get the highest amount like full funding you still can get like full tion
26:36
and then your living cost would be much much more affordable than a lot of other countries. Um and like there they have
26:43
very good computer science education like Singo University for example they have Schwartzman scholars. Uh this is
26:50
like one of the top 10 universities especially when it comes to um learning
26:55
about like uh computer science. Uh hi there. Uh hello brother from India. Uh
27:02
it's it's uh you're very welcome. It's great to hear you hear from you. Welcome
27:08
to our live stream. Thank you very much for joining in. If you have any questions at any point, feel free to ask
27:14
them. Just like if it's more specific, we can help you a little better with your questions. So, uh for example, they
27:22
do have like excellent academic records, uh minimum academic requirements. minimum academic requirements you can
27:28
see um from their universities but they like even this is one of the top ranking
27:34
uh scholarships in the top ranking universities like I do believe Chingo University is probably like top 10
27:41
globally uh but they for example um let me see undergraduate Chinese
27:48
program like for example Shangai Jatong University this is a very good university uh they have specifically
27:55
they have scholarships for specifically Chinese programs, but they also do have undergraduate English and French program
28:01
scholarships. These are specifically for um hang on and this is for this is just
28:09
for masters. Sorry, bachelors. Hang on. Let's see. Masters as well. Usually
28:15
masters get better uh scholarships. So you still have about like 20 full
28:21
funding scholarships. one belt, one road scholarship, university scholarship in Pecking University, China. Uh again, one
28:28
of the highest ranking universities in the world. So you get 100% tuition fees for partial
28:37
scholarships, 100% tuition, living statement, accommodation. Uh one great
28:43
thing about China is usually like the culture there is most students
28:49
just like they stay in the university like accommodation is in the university which kind of makes a lot of uh living
28:56
costs way more affordable for students. So like like it's you're way more likely
29:02
to get um your accommodations covered in China especially on campus uh than let's
29:09
say it in a lot of like European countries, United States, they don't really cover that like even sometimes
29:16
they give you a certain allowance or support for accommodation even then like usually you won't like it won't cover
29:23
your expenses uh because like depending on where you study uh rents can be
29:29
insanely high and they give you comprehensive medical insurance which is another thing that is not really talked
29:35
about enough because uh in places like United States
29:41
yeah like medical bills just can bankrupt you pretty much very very
29:47
easily. Anyway, so it's 6:30. Uh let me just join in with Aean so you can come
29:54
in and answer your questions. So let's see. This is our second Zoom call. Uh,
30:01
let me find the first one. I I confuses these every single time.
30:07
Choose the wrong one. Um,
30:14
okay. Waiting for him to just see me. And are
30:20
there universities where you don't pay application fee when applying for admission? There are. Um, we've made
30:25
videos about those actually. I think I've made like a short
30:31
uh very recently, but uh you can just uh you can just like search for
30:37
application fee in our YouTube channel and you'll see we've made a couple of videos about like application free
30:43
application universities in United States or free application universities in South Korea. Uh hi Emman, can you
30:49
hear me? Um hello, can you hear me? Oh, yep. I can hear you as well. I do believe
30:56
you're also uh audible in the live stream.
31:02
So, how are you? How are things? I'm doing well, thank you. How are you? I'm doing well. I'm doing well, too.
31:08
Thank you very much. Um, so, uh, welcome to the live stream. We have a couple of
31:14
questions for you. Um for example, Arup Roy says uh like can you help which
31:19
university is best for low tuition fees uh or get like 90 to 100% scholarship
31:25
for masters in computer science and also can this possibly uh be attained with low GPA. So we talked about some options
31:33
uh to find like low uh tuition like different countries. We've seen some scholarships. Uh this week I have made a
31:40
short about like uh very affordable universities in Austria. You've seen those. Uh but like one thing that we
31:46
couldn't really cover without you was like how much like what country would be better if you're looking for these with
31:53
low GPA. Uh I think he said his GPA is about like 3.15.
31:59
So uh for example we talked about Germany but then he said like it is really difficult to get admission uh in
32:05
Germany with like 3.15 GPA. So uh maybe thought you could give some more
32:10
insights about like what countries could be better for like targeting uh with lower GPA.
32:20
Um yeah so I think they make a good point about Germany. Mhm. And one thing that is important to
32:28
note about uh German universities, if you go on their websites, sometimes you'll uh you go there and see that the
32:37
minimum GPA would be 2.5. Mhm. Uh but that's misleading because usually
32:42
that's on the German scale which is on which like one is the best GPA. It's not
32:49
four. Yeah. So 2.5 might seem like low because people are usually used to the other
32:55
scale but the German scale works differently and 2.5 I think is around 3.5 uh on the uh
33:05
normal scale and by normal I mean uh the one used in most other countries where
33:11
4.0 is uh the highest GPA you can get. So uh I hope that uh no one gets misled
33:20
by that and uh always assume that whenever you go on uh German
33:25
universities website and see that the GPA seems low more often than not that
33:30
means that it's on the German scale. Um yeah, so 3.15 wouldn't be um
33:38
really sufficient to get into most German universities if and not to say
33:44
all of them. I think the minimum is usually uh 2.5 on the German scale which
33:51
is around 3.5. Um I think in countries like the United
33:58
States uh the GPA requirements are much lower probably around 3.0 is the minimum
34:06
but uh it doesn't satisfy the other criteria of low tuition. So I guess the
34:13
better options would be somewhere in Eastern Europe
34:18
uh like Hungary, Romania um where education is good and uh it is
34:27
affordable and at the same time the GPA requirements are not as high as uh in
34:33
Germany for example. I think Austria has similar
34:39
um standards as Germany when it comes to admissions especially at the graduate
34:44
level. So I would expect their GPA to be or the GPA requirements to be around 3.5
34:51
as well. Um so yeah a GPA of 3.15 is uh
34:57
relatively low to get into most universities especially for uh subjects
35:03
like computer science where the requirements tend to be a little higher
35:08
uh then it's just the standard. Um, yeah. So, I guess for low tuition and
35:15
then a low GPA, uh, I guess
35:20
just aim for Eastern European countries. Mhm.
35:27
Okay. Thank you very much. Uh, welcome regular shorts. Um, you're not really all that late. Aean, for example, joined
35:34
in. Did you wait for Aean to join the live stream? Did you not want to waste
35:40
your time with me? uh that is that why you are late because it that's rude but also very understandable if that's what
35:46
you did. So Revan says I think they're asking for um
35:54
uh scholarship from Nepal. Yeah, we talked about that or bachelors and I
36:00
think they mean their GPA is 3.7.
36:06
Uh I don't I'm not I'm not sure if that's right. And in general, they're asking
36:13
for like whether they can get scholarships uh with that like 3.7. I
36:18
think that is supposed to be GPA. Didn't really give all that much um detail.
36:26
Uh what do you think? Um yeah, so if it's 3.71
36:35
on um a 4.0 scale, you can get a
36:41
scholarship anywhere basically. Uh this is as high as it gets when it comes to GPA requirements. So you have
36:49
more chances uh of getting scholarships because you qualify for more. And uh it
36:56
just comes down to the rest of your application because no
37:02
the GPA is not uh the limiting factor. Uh it could be something else but as far
37:09
as the GPA is concerned and that's all they gave us. Uh you can get a scholarship at any university that
37:17
offers scholarships or any country that offers scholarships for that matter.
37:23
Yep. Okay. Um let's see GPA. Um so Rebin, if you are looking for
37:32
like help in applying for scholarships for undergraduates, basically what you can do is go to our website. Um look for
37:40
scholarships. Like we cannot give you advice about applying uh old
37:45
scholarships. I mean we can just give very general a very vague advice until
37:50
you can get like very specific. just go in and maybe watch watch some of our videos uh and see like what country
37:58
perhaps you're interested in, what university perhaps you're interested in and then we can help you kind of a
38:04
little better because there is no tutorial for applying to any scholarship
38:09
like old scholarships you can there is like there is not for example we made a
38:14
tutorial about applying a tutorial for applying to Kais University right and
38:20
for for that application application to university, you can apply to a scholarship by just like uh like you
38:28
know checking a box and that's it. Uh but that's just one scholarship. When it comes to other scholarships like the
38:35
procedure can get very very very much uh different. Uh so yeah uh you you need to
38:41
get like more specific for us. uh we talk about Austria, we talk about uh so
38:48
we talked about universities that don't charge admission fees. So I don't think
38:53
we have a list ready about this. I don't think we've made a video like we made we
39:01
made videos about um university that don't charge application fees but not about university that don't
39:08
charge admission fees. I don't really have much information about that. uh what what would you say?
39:16
Um yeah, so throughout the years, the number of these universities that don't
39:22
charge any uh application fees have gone lower and lower. Uh universities that
39:29
didn't used to charge any fees now do and now there are very few that don't. I
39:35
think most German universities don't. Uh but outside of uh Germany and maybe
39:44
some European countries, uh most universities now charge a fee.
39:50
Um it's usually around uh $50 to $100.
39:59
Mhm. Um but I think that uh there aren't many or
40:05
not as many as uh there used to be. So the options are just to contact the
40:14
universities and see if you can get the fee waved. Um,
40:21
but other than that, uh, even if you find a list, it's going
40:28
to be a short list. Uh, there aren't going to be many universities that don't charge any fees
40:34
anymore. Okay. Um, so is it possible to study for
40:41
free in Korea or Japan? like even the flight someone asked or should ask and I
40:47
said like there are very few scholarships um that cover your uh like flight like
40:54
airplane tickets as well. Uh there are some but extremely few that like and I don't I remember that there are some in
41:02
like either Korea or Japan. I was looking into like maybe I can find those as well. Uh but like I wanted to ask you
41:08
as well uh maybe you have one like that jumps to mind uh like very comprehensive
41:15
ones for example sorry for example I just uh
41:21
found one in Kochi University of Technology but this is board PhD uh it covers it gives you one time payment for
41:28
like uh yeah 1,500 sorry 150,000 Japanese yen for travel and initial
41:34
living expenses. So yeah, there are some uh but not that very many. Anyway, sorry
41:40
uh sorry for um just go ahead. No, no, it's fine. Um yeah, so as you
41:48
mentioned, there aren't many scholarships that uh
41:53
offer comprehensive funding including the flight tickets.
41:59
Mhm. Um, I thought that uh either the
42:05
MEX or Global Korea scholarships cover it, but I'm not completely sure.
42:11
Uh, but I think one that I'm pretty sure it does is the uh
42:20
um it's a joint scholarship. I think it's the Joint Japan World Bank scholarship,
42:26
but it's for graduate students. I think we have it in the database. Uh so the
42:32
mix does uh cover it, right? Uh yeah. So this is global Korea
42:38
airplane tickets. This is mixed. It does cover roundtrip travel and this is join
42:45
Japan round trip economy airfare between your home country and the host university at the beginning and end of
42:51
studies. So yeah, you can look into these. Yeah. Anyway, go ahead. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. I think those are the ones
42:57
that jump to mine because uh they're basically government scholarships, but
43:04
most university scholarships uh don't cover any um
43:12
uh plane tickets that they they cover a loan, but yeah. uh they don't go as far as
43:18
covering the plane tickets or the visa fees which some scholarships do.
43:25
Um yeah, so these are the scholarships I can think of. So these are the go-to
43:31
scholarships, but most scholarships just don't uh really go as far as covering
43:39
your airfare um or visa or any travel expenses. So
43:45
there's one that I just found. I'm sharing the link with you. This is international students incentive
43:51
scholarship program at Maji University for bachelor's, masters, PhD. There are some specific nationalities
43:58
and every program you have to apply for this separately. It covers half of full
44:04
tuition fee, examination, admission waiver, and monthly stipent uh 100,000
44:11
yen travel cost to Japan from Japan. But thing is uh like you have to also look u
44:18
to read about like directly from the university but because sometimes uh some of these are benefits are for like uh
44:25
just for masters or PhD and some of them are also for bachelors as well. Uh so
44:31
you can look into these uh but like it it looks very gener uh generous
44:36
uh but yeah you you need to read uh yourself from the university um pay
44:43
application fee so yeah I don't think
44:48
okay so music villain says do you think bachelor's from a low university ranking
44:54
matters while getting into a high ranking university for masters I'm from Pakistan professor from Hanya South
45:01
Korea accepted me but not Yuni till
45:06
is that the end of the question? Is that it? I'm not sure if that's a complete
45:11
complete sentence. Uh what do you make of it?
45:20
[Music]
45:26
I I don't quite understand uh what they're trying to get at here.
45:33
Um so do you think bachelors from a low university ranking matters as in your b
45:40
you have already done your bachelor's at a low ranking university and you're trying to get into
45:47
uh high ranking a university that is higher ranked. I don't think that ranking plays
45:53
uh much of a role into um your acceptance at a university later
46:00
on. Uh because what they're most interested in is your competence
46:07
as an individual rather than where you studied. So provided that
46:14
um you did well on your degree and uh you can prove that you're competent
46:21
at whatever subjects you're trying to pursue. It doesn't matter what university you graduated from. Uh
46:29
they they don't treat applicants uh differently if they come from
46:37
uh different universities. It's just a matter of how you present yourself to
46:43
uh the admission committee. It's it's not really about where you came from.
46:49
Yeah. And pretty much every university do like they do have their own way of uh kind of measuring your competence. For
46:56
example, uh like in Turkey, you usually go through some sort of like uh written exam and then like you also kind of like
47:03
they talk to you and like ask ask you questions verbally uh to like
47:10
doesn't really matter like if you if you are very good like if you can present your knowledge very good understanding
47:16
questions and like if you because when it comes to masters at that point it becomes less about just um kind of uh
47:24
learning just how much knowledge you have accumulated and more about like how much can you like how good you are at
47:31
analyzing uh the information that you can get or like how good are you at kind
47:36
of conveying that information. So like uh if if you're very good at that no one
47:42
will care whether you are from like a lowranking university or anything like that. So like I I've I've seen I've been
47:50
through a lot of different like um post-graduate uh like exams, entrances
47:57
etc etc. So yeah, I mean I know this is more about like international universities, international studying
48:04
abroad and I don't have much uh experience on that but when it comes to like post-graduate education yeah when
48:10
it comes to like exams accepting uh like masters or PhD students yeah they
48:16
usually look at how good you are at the thing that you are going to do with them because like because when it comes to
48:23
masters and PhD education is way more kind of like close like one- on-one or
48:30
usually stuff like that. So if you if they see you are very good at um
48:35
accepting information, analyzing it and then bring it back. Uh yeah, they they won't care about what university you're
48:42
from. Um thank you Aman for the feedback. Uh can
48:48
be specific like in Eastern Europe, which country? Um, do you have any
48:54
specific country that you would uh suggest or maybe from like central Europe? We
49:01
talked about Austria today, but yeah, if you have any uh specific country.
49:07
Um, yeah. So, I I did mention both Hungary and uh Romania. There's also
49:13
Poland uh which is a very very uh popular
49:19
choice for international students uh because
49:25
it is really cheap and the quality of life is great, the
49:31
quality of education is great and you have a lot of chances of uh being admitted to uh Polish
49:38
universities. I think these are the main ones that uh international students go
49:43
to. Uh it's Hungary, Romania, Poland,
49:51
and maybe to a letter a lesser extent Bulgaria. So I don't know many
49:56
international students there, but uh the other three are domain ones.
50:02
Yeah. Uh by the way, like you can read about Romanian government scholarship here, and I think we made a video about
50:07
that as well. Uh, Hungary also do have a it's a government scholarship, right? Hungarian
50:14
scholarship. Um, yes. Yeah. Um, okay. Any tutorial on how to
50:21
wait without going crazy till January for results? Uh, yeah. I'm not at all
50:27
good uh when it comes to comes of waiting. It's just I just I sit down and
50:32
constantly think think about it. Uh, so maybe Aean has some better insights
50:38
about that one. Um, yeah,
50:45
I'm not sure how you can deal with that, but I would say don't stress things you
50:50
have no control over. Yeah. So,
50:56
if all you can do is wait, then yeah, that's basically all you can do. Um, all right. I I don't see any new
51:03
questions and I think we've been through we've gone through all of the questions that were asked before you came came in.
51:10
Um so we've talked about Austria a little bit about like education and like
51:15
usually their tuitions are more affordable. Um like some of them are
51:20
free for both uh EU and non-EU students. uh like is there any anything you want
51:27
to say about Austria in general or perhaps like something that uh anyway
51:33
you want to say um I guess Australia sorry Austria is uh
51:43
one of those countries that is that are really uh underrated uh in terms of how many people ask about
51:51
them in comparison to other countries I don't think get asked enough about uh Austria
51:58
uh when it's a very affordable country and it's a very beautiful country.
52:03
Yeah. Uh to live in uh it's a just a bordering country of Germany.
52:11
So German is the main language. Mhm. Uh I think for getting into universities
52:18
in general, you are required to have a certain level of German or English. Uh
52:25
generally it's a C1 in German and around 7.5 uh ILTS
52:32
uh in English or equivalent uh in other tests. Um it's mostly great
52:39
for the graduate students in my opinion uh because the research projects there
52:44
are really interesting from what I have checked and there is a big focus on
52:52
research um at Austrian universities. So I guess
52:58
if you're a graduate student with um a project that is uh research focused uh
53:07
Austria is a great option. Um the education is really affordable. So, I
53:13
don't think there are many scholarships offered by Austrian universities,
53:18
although there are a few, but in general, I think it is it can be as low
53:25
as €1,500 um
53:30
per semester at Austrian universities. Yeah, at least the last time I checked. Maybe
53:35
it's a little higher now, but it's not as expensive as say the UK or the United
53:42
States, Canada, Australia. Um, I don't think you'll have much much struggle
53:48
when it comes to the language in Austria because most people speak English. Yeah. Or at least from the feedback of
53:54
students who studied there. uh there isn't much uh trouble in that regard
54:02
which you can find in some other countries. So if you go to France or
54:07
Spain uh these countries you you do need to speak French or Spanish because very few
54:15
people speak English. Uh whereas as as you go north things get better. So
54:24
Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, uh Finland, Norway,
54:29
uh Denmark, all these countries, uh you can find many uh people who speak
54:35
English as opposed to the southern side of Europe. Uh yeah. So I guess it is uh one of the
54:44
best options in in Europe at the moment. I wouldn't say Austria is Eastern Europe
54:50
because it's still uh a little bit uh on the Western side.
54:55
Mhm. Um so I wouldn't put it with the other countries when we're talking about uh
55:02
studying in Eastern Europe like Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic. All these are a little bit to
55:10
the to the east but it's still uh part of the western side of Europe. Uh so it
55:18
is western side but it it is very affordable uh nonetheless.
55:23
Okay. Thank you very much. Hello Sang. Um I'm not sure what language that is. I
55:29
don't I don't speak like uh if you can if you can ask the same question in English. Perhaps we can be better help.
55:37
Uh better help. Revan I I don't think I understand that question. Scholarship form isn't
55:43
accepted by the website. What? What scholarship form? What website?
55:48
Uh participation is crazy sometimes. Yeah, it is. Waiting is just the worst.
55:53
I hate I hate it. like whenever I have to take something like uh I I just I
55:59
just try my best to go first like if it's a line or something like that or
56:05
like in general uh like people like if people are going to go through a test one by one I just
56:13
try to do first and just like get over it. Uh I have 5 point 6.5 6.5s
56:21
one planning pursue bachelor in Sunmoney University. What's fee structure and
56:27
scholarship? So let's see if we have that in our database.
56:33
Yeah, I don't think we do. Um I don't think I've read it wrong.
56:39
Uh maybe we can look into that. Uh Evan, do you know what this university?
56:45
Yeah, I think it's it's one it's not one word. I think it's like sun is there is a space.
56:50
Yeah. Uh hang on. Sun Moon University. I see. So um South Korea
57:01
they do have some scholarships. The tuition is about 68 million South Korean
57:06
ones which is let's see how much it is in dollars. Um
57:14
it's about4.6,000 so like $5,000
57:21
uh tuition. They do have one partial funding scholarship.
57:27
Let's see it's about um 50%. Yes. So um there is like a lot of
57:37
Korean universities do this. Uh basically there's a test called uh topic or test of proficiency in Korean and you
57:43
can take this uh it's kind of like I guess uh you go through it and based on your level there are a lot of uh Korean
57:50
universities that will automatically give you something like 50%, 60%. Uh
57:55
there are some universities like if you get the highest level from topic uh it's just tuition is free or something like
58:02
that. Uh so we only have this one in this university I believe. Hang on. So
58:08
yeah, this one and then we do have like global Korea uh scholarship which is the
58:13
government scholarship. Now uh government scholarships basically you can apply to the
58:19
government scholarship uh through like all the universities in uh Korea. But if
58:25
I remember correctly, different universities of or different types of universities uh have different codants.
58:32
For example, like Aean, correct me if I'm wrong, but for example, like if you're applying to a university in uh
58:38
Seoul, uh applying for this scholarship through a university in Seoul, it is
58:43
kind of more difficult to get that uh compared to if you apply to a university
58:51
uh outside Seoul, right? So like yes this is available for like a lot of
58:56
different universities in South Korea but especially like if you are applying for this scholarship through Sunmoon
59:03
University which is not in Soul. Uh so you might have an advantage like if they have different coders. Aemon am I wrong
59:09
about this? Um yeah so you are right about each
59:16
university having a specific number of uh applicants you can get in
59:23
through the scholarship. So there is this is the university track
59:30
and yeah you can also apply through the embassy uh in your country and that's the embassy track and generally
59:38
embassies have fewer uh seats than uh
59:43
university. So it's always better to apply through the university although sometimes uh you have better chances to apply
59:50
through the embassy. just a case by case thing. But in terms of numbers, uh, universities have
59:58
higher higher a higher number of seats and then with each university having
1:00:05
varying number of seats and as you mentioned some universities are harder
1:00:10
to get into than others. Yeah. Um, yeah. So
1:00:16
I guess um you choose the university that works for you best and I think they
1:00:22
give you you can apply to as many universities as you want. So it's it's it's not an issue uh when it comes to
1:00:29
that. But it's good to keep in mind that there are universities that that are more competitive just because they're
1:00:37
within a certain area or because they they have a certain ranking.
1:00:43
Okay. So cyber security do you have any idea if I got a degree from Korean universities and the world ranking about
1:00:51
like five to 6,000 if I can pursue further studies in Australia? I wouldn't
1:00:57
know much about that really. Aean, what do you think?
1:01:03
Yeah. So it's it's totally dependent on many many things
1:01:10
and just the fact that you studied in South Korea. I don't think um that matters much.
1:01:18
What matters is uh how your degree went, your grades, uh your achievements at the
1:01:25
university. So, it's not just because you studied in South Korea, you have
1:01:30
higher chances of being admitted in Australia. So, it doesn't work that way. Um, generally speaking, there are
1:01:37
actually some exchange programs between um, Korean universities and Australian
1:01:44
universities. So, if you're interested in exchange programs, but if you're
1:01:50
interested in a full uh, transition to Australia, I don't think that studying
1:01:55
in Korea or anywhere for that matter uh, increases your chances of getting into
1:02:01
Australian universities. What it does is how you performed uh during your studies
1:02:09
at that specific Korean university rather than just studying there.
1:02:16
Okay. Thank you. By the way, I'm going to share the link with you for this admission guide. So like they give you a
1:02:22
lot of information here like hang on. So let me see. Sun moon. What was it? Here
1:02:33
it says applicant qualifications. So language proficiency if you're going
1:02:40
through Korean track you have to have at least level three or higher topic
1:02:46
and but like you should be able to get a scholarship for that. Yeah about 50% exemption.
1:02:52
So yes um okay if you have any other questions uh this is pretty much it. uh
1:02:59
like we've talked about a lot of stuff and we answered all the questions and I
1:03:05
think like if you don't have any other questions we're going to end the live stream around here but if you do just just type them in uh very fast. Uh so
1:03:13
yeah that's pretty much it otherwise we're going to end the live stream here. So I'll just give you a minute to ask
1:03:21
any questions that you might have. Uh thank you very much regular shorts.
1:03:27
Uh it's really great to see you here. Um every live stream even though you don't
1:03:33
really come to our live streams for me which is acceptable. Uh our expert comes in
1:03:40
usually about uh 30 minute mark. Okay.
1:03:45
Um I don't think there are any other questions. So yeah, that'll be it I
1:03:50
guess today. Um Aman, thank you very much for joining in and answering our questions.
1:03:56
Of course. Thank you for having me. All right. Um, everyone, thank you very much for joining in. If you're watching
1:04:02
this after the live stream on VOD, thank you very much for watching. We're here every Friday. Sometimes we take the day
1:04:08
off, sometimes we can we have other things to do, but usually we are here every Friday at the same hour. Uh, and
1:04:15
