0:00
okay hi everyone it's Global
0:01
Scholarships and I'm your host as I hope
0:03
you're all doing well and normally we
0:05
make these videos during our live stream
0:07
so I can get insights from Aean who is
0:10
our expert of course but this week I was
0:12
a bit sick so we can do the live stream
0:15
uh but I still want to talk about this
0:16
scholarship because it's a great
0:18
scholarship in Germany it's in Rwth A
0:21
University which is a great university
0:23
it's one of the best universities like
0:25
top 10 uh universities in Germany and I
0:29
believe it's in top 100 like top 100 in
0:33
uh the world as well so this is the
0:35
university you can see what it looks
0:38
like again it's a really good university
0:40
i mean German in Germany uh most
0:42
universities are really good and of
0:44
course like most German universities
0:47
they do not charge any tuition fees so
0:49
you can get more information from here
0:51
about the admission about the uh
0:53
deadlines but the scholarship we're
0:56
going to talk about today is this one
0:58
student assistantships uh now you might
1:00
be asking why like this is a partial
1:02
funding scholarship how can this offer
1:04
free education uh now this is only
1:07
partial only because the university does
1:10
not charge any tuition fee at all so it
1:13
gives you uh this amount of money every
1:16
um every semester and you also don't
1:18
have to pay tuition fee so this is like
1:20
full funding uh but full funding would
1:23
be in United States or Canada or
1:25
something like that and normally student
1:27
assistantships are for masters and PhD
1:30
students but in Germany bachelor
1:32
students can get them as well uh this is
1:34
one of those um basically what they do
1:37
is they give you uh you work in the
1:40
university there there are job post uh
1:42
we're going to see those and basically
1:43
they pay you about €6,000 per semester
1:47
now you might be asking what's with the
1:49
odd number here to be able to understand
1:52
that you can go uh and Google RTH
1:55
University living cost and click here to
1:58
see what the estimation is uh for your
2:01
living cost in this university you can
2:03
read all of this but also here it says
2:06
the amount for the proof of financing
2:08
per blocked account which has been risen
2:10
accordingly to
2:13
€11,900 per year so if you do not know
2:15
in Germany you have to have a blocked
2:17
account and you have to have this amount
2:20
of money in that account to show them
2:22
that you have enough funds to be able to
2:25
study in Germany for a year it's not
2:28
it's not an amount that you paid the
2:30
government or something like that it's
2:32
just you have to have that amount of
2:34
cash in your account so the German
2:37
government knows that you're you're not
2:39
going to have financial issues there uh
2:42
and this uh the proof of financing this
2:45
amount basically is equal to how much
2:48
they estimate your living costs would be
2:51
so you will probably spend about like
2:54
€12,000 per year which is why this
2:57
scholarship gives you about €6,000 per
3:00
semester which is €12,000 per year so
3:04
basically it covers your living expenses
3:06
and since you don't have to pay any
3:08
tuition fees as you can see you only
3:10
have to pay €300 per semester which is a
3:13
semester fee this basically covers
3:16
pretty much everything like this is kind
3:18
of a full funding scholarship that would
3:20
cover everything you need so yeah there
3:23
is no really any eligibility criteria
3:26
international bachelor master PhD
3:28
student or applicant you can see more
3:30
about the application procedure um and
3:33
the deadlines here usually
3:35
assistantships are like being employed
3:37
by the university so the application
3:40
procedures can be a bit difficult be bit
3:43
detailed if you have any questions you
3:45
can always leave them here uh he only
3:47
answers every single question you can
3:50
click here to go and see the
3:52
universities page directly as you can
3:53
see these are like job like job post job
3:56
listings and you can click on any one of
3:58
these to understand like these are the
4:01
institutions units like chairs these are
4:04
deadlines uh they're like different
4:06
deadlines for different job posts and
4:09
you can read about them here um they're
4:11
in German i don't think you can uh read
4:14
about them in English yeah no it's not
4:16
available in English so of course if you
4:18
want to go there and uh work in
4:21
university it's kind of vital that you
4:23
know a certain level of German so yeah
4:26
the application procedure you can find
4:27
through here uh of course to be able to
4:29
apply these scholarships you need to
4:32
first apply to the uh university and
4:35
then when you're an applicant and you're
4:37
admitted uh you can apply for these jobs
4:41
uh which will pay you about €12,000 per
4:43
year which will cover your entire living
4:46
cost so that's pretty much it it's kind
4:48
of straightforward basically if you get
4:50
this this kind of offers you free
4:52
education in Germany which I know a lot
4:56
of you are interested
