I thought I didn't like cardholders with a leather wallet portion, until I extensively tested the Double Oak's Founder's Wallet, which you see right here. Alright, so I recently went on record talking about how I didn't super like

Xters Parliament Wallet and they had given me a while back to check out and I just wasn't

super impressed by how thick it was. It was a plastic card holder on the inside and that kind of stuff

And so I kind of thought I didn't really like these card holders with a leather surround

And so that actually brings me to what I'm reviewing today. And that is Double Oaks Leather Wallet

This specific variation is called the Founders Edition. And it's the same basic idea

You basically have a card holder on the inside that holds up to seven cards

And then on the outside, you have a kind of a leather surround wallet

And you have cards that can fit in the back. You can have cards that fit on the inside

And then you have a cash place in the inside there. You only have to fold that cash once

And it's the same basic idea. But there's one big change. that, well, the card holder itself actually slides completely out of the wallet

And it holds up to seven cards by ejecting it via a button right there

And the other major difference being this is top grain leather. So while it follows a lot of the same characteristics as the extra parliament

this is a much better wallet. And instead of being at near the bottom of my list of best wallets

and this has actually become my new favorite wallet because it's just impressive

So I went over really quick what this wallet is just a little bit of what this wallet is. quick what this wallet is, but in this video I'm going to be talking about what I do like

and what I don't like about this wallet and then exactly who it is for. But before we get there

yourself. Alright, so let's jump right into what I do like about this wallet. In the number

one thing, and this is really what changed my mind on these leather wallets with a card

holder in them is the fact that it is removable Now this is a really really cool wallet So you can have the best of both worlds You can have a really nice leather wallet So if you

somebody that really likes a leather wallet, you can have that. However, you also have the

capability of being able to just remove the card holder and just go because it cuts down a ton

on the bulk and it just makes it so that it's really usable. Now, the major downside to it being

that you just aren't going to have cash with you, but if you aren't somebody that uses a ton of

cash like me, it's not a big deal. And then the next thing I really like about the wallet after

using it for a couple weeks is just how nice the leather is. So this is top grain leather. It's

not genuine leather. Anytime you see genuine leather, that's actually the lowest level of leather

This is top grain. It's actually one of the highest levels of leather and it looks really nice and

feels really nice and honestly even smells really nice. It has a really good smell to it. That's

obviously something I can't show on video. However, it is starting to show. It's patina. After I have been using it for a couple weeks, you can kind of see how it is changing

color a little bit. And that is a good thing with leather if you're seeing it change color. That

means it really is a higher quality leather. And it is really nice all through and through

This leather is incredible. And right when I opened up the packaging of this wallet, I was

impressed by the quality. So the next thing I really do like about this wallet is the card

holder portion of the wallet. It is really, really reliable. It works really, really well

All you do is you push down on that lever right there and it pops up to seven cards out of the wallet

Most card holders can only fit six. So it is nice to be able to have that extra card because I am somebody that holds a few more cards than I think the normal person does

And that is really nice. And you can also hear it has a really nice click to it. I actually put it next to the microphone

It has just a really, really satisfying click to it. So that is really nice

And then right here it has a lockout. So you push up on that and it actually locks the card so that they won't fall out

it, you can kind of hear them. It's not going anywhere because it does have that lockout

A lot of other wallet companies essentially do a little bit of rubber on the inside, and I think

there's a much more reliable and honestly a more satisfying version of that. And so you don't

have to worry about cards falling out The next thing I like about the card holder portion is it MagSafe compatible While I am filming with my iPhone I can show you guys the magsafe compatible but it is There a little magsafe plate

I think it's right behind here that you just basically pop it on the back of your iPhone and you go

So that is really nice. You remove the leather portion and you can just pop this on the back of your phone

You don't even have a wallet in your pocket outside of the one that's sticking on the back of your phone

And then the final thing I really liked about the wallet is really the gold color

This is what I really, really wanted. There are a lot of other colors that you can buy of this wallet, but this gold color is really

really what I wanted. You can see it kind of shimmers, it has a really good matte feel to it, and I was really

impressed by this color. It's just something a lot of the other wallets just don't have

They all kind of are black or silver, that kind of stuff, and this one just really stands

out in my collection of way too many wallets. And so those are the things I really like about the wallet

There are just so much to like about it. However, there are some things that I didn't like about the wallet

And the first one, again, comes to the cardholder portion. I was running into, I can't really get it to do it with these demo cards, but I was running into where the wallet would get jammed

Now I did talk about the brand and they said they would replace the cardholder portion of anyone that is running into this

But what would happen is basically I would eject it and then I would take one card out like this

And then when I was ready to put it back, I would do that and then push down and it would jam

So what I would have to do is basically pull all of them out ever so slightly and then push down

And then it was able to go down. It's not really doing with these demo cards because I think they're brand new and so they're not having much wear anyways

But it was happening quite a bit and it was happening to both the card holders. But again, the brand is saying that they would replace it under warranty if that was a problem that you run into

And then the next thing that is just really indicative of these leather surround style wallets of

having a card holder is that they are just thick. Now a good example of this is I have this

aviur slide wallet that this brand had gifted me. And you can see there are cards inside of

there just like there is in this wallet And you can see there is just a big difference in thickness Just leather adds so much thickness to wallets And you can see also size comparison right here The double oak is just considerably larger overall And that is a bit

of a bummer. Now again, the card holder is removable, but when you are using the leather

surround, it is noticeable in your pocket and honestly is quite large and is a major downside, I think

for a lot of people. Now, the final verdict on this wallet and who exactly should be buying it. So my final

verdict is, honestly, this is hands down my favorite wallet right now, just being so versatile

in having a mag-safe card holder that's removable from the leather and the high-quality

leather itself. And honestly, the pricing on these is lower than a lot of the kind of low-end

versions of a lot of these other wallet companies. So for the price, you really can't beat it

The quality on these is just impressive and just crazy for the price that you're paying

It really goes to show maybe the other companies out there are maybe charging a little more than

they have to because just the quality of this wallet shows that it doesn't have to be expensive

if it's also nice. So as for who should buy it, I think the people that this really caters well

to are people that are really liking their bifold or trifold wallets. They like the smell of

leather, they like the feel, they like the patina, but they want to move to something a little

bit more minimalistic. Having that really nice card holder that ejects cards is just so nice

but you still get all of the great characteristics of a bifold wallet. So I would really really

really recommend it towards those people. Now, if you're somebody that truly wants a true, true

true minimalist wallet, this probably isn't for you, honestly. It is thick, it is bigger

unless you remove it. Instead, I would probably recommend getting something like Knight's Edition

right here. So this is a true card holder. They do sell those as well. And that probably is a

better option for you, along with maybe something like a Ridgewallet or an Exter. But honestly

if you're somebody that does like leather, this is probably for you. With all of that said, that is my
