I've tested thousands of dollars worth
0:02
of wallets over the years, and with that
0:04
has come a large amount of really unique
0:06
wallets. While there are plenty of
0:07
triedand-rue designs that I think a lot
0:09
of people are used to, these are by far
0:11
my 10 favorite unique wallets, those
0:15
people that want something a little bit
0:16
different than what everybody else is
0:17
carrying in their pockets. And some of
0:19
these are actually pretty crazy. And
0:21
number one is wild. So, let's get right
0:23
into it. But before we do, I do want to
0:25
mention two different things. Number
0:27
one, every wallet on this list was given
0:29
to me by the respective brand. And
0:31
number two, if you want to purchase this
0:33
wallet for yourself or maybe a friend or
0:35
family member, I do have links down in
0:36
the description and in the top comment.
0:38
They are paid links which get me a
0:40
commission if you do use that link to
0:42
make that purchase. And I try to have
0:44
coupon codes for each one if possible.
0:46
And then there may be links to our shop
0:47
if it's something that we retail. And
0:49
with that, let's get into number 10. Now
0:51
number 10 is this Dango M1 Maverick
0:54
wallet. This is a byfold design wallet
0:56
that kind of mixes leather with metal.
0:59
There are wallets out there that do
1:00
combine metal and leather, which we'll
1:02
actually see later in this list as well,
1:04
but this one is just truly unique. It
1:06
has a truly tactical feel to it that
1:08
looks pretty awesome for those people
1:10
that like that tactical look. It has a
1:11
built-in multi-tool that has plenty of
1:14
different functions to it. And there is
1:15
a place for your cards pretty much
1:17
anywhere in the wallet, allowing for
1:18
some easy access. While this isn't
1:20
necessarily a wallet that I prefer, I
1:22
prefer a more minimalist wallet. This is
1:24
a truly high quality wallet. The metal
1:27
is high quality. It's well thought out.
1:29
The leather is really, really nice. And
1:31
actually, it probably has my favorite
1:32
feel of any leather. And honestly, it
1:34
has a pretty impressive card capacity
1:36
and is a great wallet for somebody that
1:38
is looking for a biffold, but wants
1:40
something a little bit different than
1:41
really anyone else has. The major
1:43
downside that I have to it is that in
1:45
some places the cards can be a little
1:46
bit difficult to get out. And this is
1:49
one heavy wallet. You definitely notice
1:51
it in your pocket. Now, number nine is
1:53
the Ridge Wallet Light. Now, Ridge is
1:56
probably one of the most well-known
1:57
names in the wallet industry, but their
1:59
light version is actually truly unique.
2:01
While it technically is competing with a
2:03
rubber band, because that's really all
2:05
it is, it is still really nice. It's
2:08
really high quality, just like the rest
2:09
of their wallets, but it is a much more
2:11
compact design, meaning that the cards
2:14
actually stick out of the wallet. And
2:15
from testing, I found that honestly you
2:18
barely notice this wallet, even more so
2:20
than their standard wallet in your
2:21
pocket. And because the cards do stick
2:23
out, you can actually get the cards out
2:25
with just one hand. So if you have
2:27
something in your other hand, you can
2:28
actually get some of your mostused cards
2:30
with just one hand. And while it doesn't
2:32
have a cash strap or money clip like
2:33
their other wallets, you can stick cash
2:35
on the interior of the cards if you want
2:37
to store a couple bills, but it's really
2:39
not what it's meant for. As for
2:40
downsides, just because the cards are
2:42
sticking out, they are going to be a
2:43
little more prone to damage. So, you're
2:45
going to want to have cards that you
2:46
don't really care about on the outside.
2:48
The interior cards are going to be a
2:49
little bit more well protected. And of
2:51
course, considering its main competition
2:53
is a rubber band, the Ridge Wallet Light
2:56
is going to be thousands and thousands
2:58
of percent more expensive than its main
3:00
competition. Number eight is the Treyax
3:02
Contour Light. This is another wallet
3:04
that blends leather and metal extremely
3:07
well and is in fact USA made, being one
3:09
of the only ones in the list that is
3:10
made in the USA. I was really impressed
3:12
by its extremely high quality build. Its
3:15
unique take on the wallet industry. It
3:17
is still a sandwich style wallet, but it
3:20
has really nice leather that wraps
3:22
around. You just pull the tab off right
3:24
here and you can have access to the cash
3:25
in the back. And that also gives you
3:27
access to your cards. And because of
3:29
that strap, you don't have to worry
3:30
about your cards falling out at any
3:31
time. As for the leather, it is top
3:33
grain leather, which I was impressed
3:34
with. And once you get the strap off,
3:36
it's actually relatively easy access to
3:38
your cards and cash. And it's completely
3:40
adjustable to allow for more or less
3:42
cards just by using the screws on the
3:44
front. Now, the only downside that I
3:46
found with this outside of its pretty
3:47
expensive price, if you add just a
3:49
little bit too many cards in there, it
3:50
is really difficult to get cards out
3:52
sometimes. So, you can only really use
3:54
the cards that you have adjusted it for.
3:56
If you have more or less, you have to
3:58
adjust it again, which can be kind of a
4:00
pain. Now, number seven is the Double
4:02
Oak Slim Wallet. I really liked their
4:04
standard wallet, but however, I have
4:06
come to prefer the slim wallet. It is
4:09
extremely unique in this industry
4:11
because it is a full metal high quality
4:14
ejector wallet, but they have a leather
4:16
surround. Now, that leather surround can
4:18
actually be removed just so you have the
4:20
metal wallet if you prefer. And the
4:21
metal wallet portion is also mag safe,
4:23
so it can be thrown on the back of your
4:25
iPhone. That is a pretty cool feature.
4:27
Another cool feature is that it is that
4:29
the button does push upwards and it
4:31
locks the cards into place so that the
4:33
cards will not fall out until you push
4:35
the button down again. This is a really
4:37
high quality wallet that I've been
4:38
really really impressed with and I've
4:40
been recommending over and over again.
4:42
But it is also truly unique and just the
4:44
capabilities that it has. The really
4:46
only downside is its lack of storage
4:49
outside of the standard card holder. you
4:50
really only have room for your just a
4:52
couple maybe one or two bills or in one
4:55
card in the back of the sleeve. Outside
4:57
of that, you're kind of out of luck with
4:58
storage. Speaking of MagSafe wallets,
5:02
this is number six and it is the Phantom
5:04
M wallet. And the M stands for Mag Safe
5:06
because this actually does fit on the
5:07
back of your phone, which is a really
5:09
nice and unique feature. Not a lot of
5:11
wallets have done well. And what makes
5:13
this work so well is this is a
5:14
horizontally ejecting fan out wallet.
5:17
So, you just pull this lever right here,
5:18
and the cards do eject out horizontally,
5:21
meaning that it goes out the side of
5:23
your phone instead of out the bottom
5:24
like a lot of the other ejector wallets.
5:26
I also really like the fact that the
5:28
bamboo is really high quality and has a
5:30
texture to it. A couple things that I
5:32
didn't really like about it is I'm not
5:34
super impressed by the optional money
5:35
clip. Probably wouldn't recommend
5:36
getting that cuz it's a little bit too
5:38
tight. Also, the bamboo likes to get
5:40
marks on it in your pocket if you keep
5:41
with your keys. And every once in a
5:43
while, I'll kind of get cards stuck in
5:45
it if I just use it a little bit wrong,
5:47
which is a bit of a bummer. Before we
5:49
move on to my top five favorite unique
5:51
wallets, if you have found this video
5:53
helpful whatsoever, I invite you to like
5:55
it as it helps me out and make sure to
5:56
subscribe to the channel as I do a lot
5:58
of awesome men's gear buyer guide like
6:00
this. Which brings us to number five,
6:02
which is the proof wallet leather. Now,
6:04
I've tested I think pretty much every
6:06
variation of the proof wallet. I have to
6:08
say this leather version right here is
6:10
definitely my favorite. I like the
6:12
quality. I like how compact it is. And
6:14
the functionality of the wallet is one
6:16
of the best out there. Now, it takes the
6:18
standard sandwich wallet design and adds
6:20
a pull tab where you just pull it up and
6:22
you have your cards right there. It has
6:24
been extremely durable for me and its
6:26
card capacity is one of the best at 25
6:29
cards, which I have tested and it does
6:32
work. The only real downside I have with
6:34
this wallet, this honestly is one of my
6:35
favorite wallets just overall, is the
6:37
fact that it doesn't fan the cards out
6:39
like you would see on something like an
6:40
extra wallet where it fans it out so you
6:42
have easy access to cards kind of in the
6:44
interior. Generally, you have to fan it
6:45
out a little bit differently to make it
6:47
work. Now, number four is the Groove
6:49
Wallet 3.0. And this one is surprising
6:51
because the previous two generations
6:52
have not exactly been my favorite
6:54
wallet. However, with the third
6:55
generation, we finally have what is now
6:57
one of my favorite minimalist wallets
6:59
and is actually really unique in its own
7:01
right because it has this front plate
7:03
right here that slides upward. And that
7:05
is the ejector mechanism. It isn't using
7:07
a push button. It's not using a pull tab
7:09
or any of that. It's one of the only
7:11
wallets I've ever seen where you use the
7:12
full face of the wallet to get the cards
7:14
out. And I really like it. It's almost
7:16
kind of a fidget toy on its own right.
7:17
It also has really great build quality
7:19
and is one of the only wallets where I'm
7:21
willing to use a money clip instead of a
7:23
cash strap. And the only real downside I
7:25
found to this wallet is its low card
7:27
capacity. Only handles six on the
7:29
interior and you might be able to fit
7:30
one behind the money clip and still
7:32
being comfortable. Now number three is
7:34
this Lorzar wallet pro. This is an
7:36
extremely surprising wallet to me
7:38
because when the brand offered to send
7:39
it to me, I actually figured I wouldn't
7:40
like it whatsoever. I felt like it was
7:42
probably just going to be a budget kind
7:43
of knockoff wallet and that is not the
7:45
case. This is a really nice,
7:47
highquality, fully functioning,
7:49
well-thoughtout wallet, and it's also
7:51
one of the only wallets that has a
7:52
tracking mechanism that's truly embedded
7:54
in it. It's not a card. It's built into
7:57
the wallet, and it has wireless
7:58
charging, so you can keep using it over
8:00
and over again when the battery dies. It
8:02
also is the only wallet I have that's
8:04
actually spring loaded. Rather than like
8:06
a lever mechanism where you push down on
8:08
a button and the lever kind of pushes it
8:10
up, this one's actually spring-loaded.
8:11
So, when you push the button, it
8:12
releases the spring and springs the
8:14
cards out, which is a really interesting
8:16
feel and very unique. I think there's
8:18
also going to be a lot of people that
8:19
like the clear kind of tech feel that is
8:22
really popular nowadays. This is one of
8:24
the only wallets I've seen with that
8:25
feature. And of course, the fine my
8:27
works just like any other fine my
8:28
network. It just works and that's that's
8:31
that. The only concern I have with this
8:33
wallet is the durability of the spring
8:35
mechanism. Because I haven't used a ton
8:36
of wallets with a spring mechanism, not
8:38
a push button mechanism. I'm a little
8:40
concerned at how long that's going to
8:41
last, especially since it has a little
8:43
hole in the bottom that says help. All
8:44
right, guys. We're getting close to the
8:45
end of this video. And the number two
8:47
wallet is the Axewell carbon fiber. I
8:51
have to say this is a really nice
8:52
wallet. And you're probably used to this
8:54
design by a company that's name kind of
8:56
follows a mountaintop and rhymes with
8:59
smidge, but Axwell has kind of taken it
9:02
a step further and has made it so that
9:04
the thumb notch is a little bit wider
9:06
and more angular to allow for your
9:07
finger to push up better. And what
9:09
really makes this wallet unique against
9:11
really anything else is the fact that
9:13
these face plates are completely
9:15
removable, which allows you to fully
9:17
customize the look, so you can get other
9:18
face plates and customize it to look
9:20
however you want. They have different
9:21
materials, different colors, all of
9:23
those things. I like that. The thing
9:24
that is even better by allowing these
9:26
face plates to be removed is you can
9:28
swap it over to either the money clip or
9:30
the cash strap, which both come with the
9:32
wallet in just a couple seconds. It's a
9:34
pretty impressive feature. And of
9:36
course, it's a great wallet because it's
9:37
going to be really reliable because
9:39
there's really no moving components to
9:41
it and the build quality is really
9:42
impressive. The only downside is
9:44
honestly the same one as its main
9:46
competitor in that it's actually kind of
9:48
challenging to get to the interior cards
9:50
of the wallet. All right, and number
9:52
one, my favorite unique wallet. This is
9:54
the wallet I think nobody really asked
9:56
for, but everybody should try at least
9:58
once. This is a fully magnetic wallet in
10:01
the fact that you can take it apart.
10:02
It's held together by magnets and each
10:04
accessory can be put in, take out, all
10:07
of that at a moment's notice. It's a
10:10
really, really cool design and it's made
10:12
really, really well that the leather is
10:14
high quality. Each component is well
10:16
thought out and being fully
10:17
customizable, you can have a super
10:19
thick, super high capacity wallet one
10:21
day and the next day turn it into a much
10:23
slimmer wallet by taking a lot of those
10:25
accessories out. It also has the pull
10:28
tabs where you can pull cards out the
10:30
end of the wallet without ever opening
10:32
it up. And overall is the most unique,
10:35
the coolest, and the biggest
10:36
conversation starter wallet I have ever
10:39
used. Now, as for the downsides, because
10:41
of those magnets in the wallet, it does
10:43
make it a little bit longer than it
10:45
necessarily has to be, meaning it's more
10:47
of a back pocket wallet rather than a
10:49
front pocket wallet. And I think the
10:51
magnets are slightly too weak in that it
10:54
comes apart sometimes in just normal
10:56
usage, even if I don't want the wallet
10:57
to come apart. Now, if you liked this
11:00
video, but wish they were leather and
11:01
slimmer, I'd highly recommend watching
11:03
this video right here on the
People & Society
