because England won the World Cup on Saturday
0:03
The Red Roses, it's been absolutely brilliant. They're by far the best sports team anywhere in the world
0:10
because nobody can get near them. They're that good. And I'm very excited because Zoe Aldcroft
0:15
the actual captain of the Red Roses, is with us right now
0:19
Hey, Zoe! Congratulations. Thank you so much. Have you had any sleep since Saturday
0:25
I'm going to say about five hours max probably but we've been celebrating well over these last couple of days
0:34
it's been very fun I was listening to the radio on Saturday on Sunday
0:38
and they were saying that you guys were going to appear at Battersea Shopping Centre
0:43
and I'm thinking, what, what? You're going to turn out after all that celebration
0:48
the night before and everything else and did you, did you make it? We did, we did make it
0:53
Yeah, we got a bus through London and, yeah, I saw all the fans at Battersea Power Station
0:58
which was very cool. Brilliant. Well done. And also, the actual celebrations
1:03
I want to get onto the game and talk about everything that you've done coming up to that
1:06
but how were the celebrations? We saw so much of the Ryder Cup stuff
1:11
So, I mean, it's been a great weekend for sport in this country. So how were yours
1:15
I guess a little late being the captain, you're the one that's got to lead by example
1:19
Yeah, definitely. I think there was a rule made that no-one was allowed to go to bed before me on Sunday morning
1:26
but there was only five of us left at half six in the morning, so I don't know where everyone else was
1:33
Miss Ellie would be good at that part of it all Oh yeah very good You know what going on I not sure she be that good on the pitch But I can be part of the celebrations and the support Zoe
1:43
for you has been incredible, hasn't it? Because it was raining on Sunday at Battersea Power Station
1:46
but you saw the crowds there. I mean, the atmosphere was just amazing. Yeah, definitely
1:51
We've been so privileged throughout this whole tournament to have the support that we've had
1:56
It was aged 2,000 people at Twickenham on Saturday, which was absolutely incredible
2:00
and kind of a moment where we thought, whoa, this is a new stage of women's rugby
2:06
And then, yeah, to have everyone there on Sunday as well was incredible
2:10
Well, I was in hospital last week. It was a procedure I had to have done
2:15
And the nurse came up to me. She was the sister, actually
2:19
And she said, well, I've got my ticket. I've got my ticket for Saturday
2:24
Have you got yours? And I said, no, I'm not sure. Brentford or Bogey team for us or whatever
2:28
and I just assumed she was talking about football. I said, what are you talking about
2:33
And the nurses there, there were three of them and they all had tickets for your match
2:38
I mean, it really, you have caught the imagination, I think, of the whole country
2:42
People have bought into this as a sport. Yeah, definitely. I think we've seen so many new fans come into the game
2:50
which is absolutely incredible. And it's what we're all about. We've got so many different personalities in the team
2:55
that are kind of connecting with so many different people and it's just fantastic that everyone can come and enjoy our spot
3:02
Zoe, what's the greatest moment? I often like to speak to people about this and when they look back
3:06
because firstly, I guess you go there, you're at Twickenham, you got to take everything in so every memory going to be there for the rest of your life What stands out Is it the final whistle Is it the lifting of the trophy Was that moment you stepped out
3:20
So when you think about what an amazing day that was, what is it that's the first thing that goes straight into your head
3:27
I think the biggest thing for me was coming off the bus and kind of seeing the crowds of people, like, looking up
3:32
and seeing the stands full of people, like, cheering us on was just an incredible moment
3:38
and I actually got pretty emotional coming off the bus. But then, obviously, when that final whistle went
3:43
that was just an incredible feeling of emotions and just the thought that we've done it
3:48
and it's been worth all the hard work that we've put in. Is it relief
3:53
Is it a relief or, again, another one of my favourite questions, a relief or jubilation
3:56
What's the main emotion? I think, like, obviously, as soon as that whistle went
4:02
I felt absolutely knackered, so it was a little bit of relief that the game was kind of done
4:06
and that we could just enjoy the celebrations now and, yeah, just so much excitement and joy in that moment
4:13
Yeah, you've got the Red Roses who are ruling the rugby world. You've got the Lionesses ruling the football world
4:19
Do you get to chat to the Lionesses at all? I mean, you're all doing it for young girls out there
4:24
Yeah, they've been a massive support to us and we had Lucy Bronze there at Bad to See on Sunday
4:28
which is incredible. But, yeah, they've been a massive part of our journey and, obviously, they inspired us so much earlier on this year
4:35
in the eras and we've been following their journey and now they've been
4:39
following ours which is an incredible thing. Zoe, you were always going to win this
4:43
weren't you? There was no doubt in your mind you were always going to win this
4:48
There was a sense of calmness this week and it was just about getting that job done And yeah I think when we got our minds set to something we want to go out there and achieve it
4:58
Amazing. What have you achieved in Scarborough? Have you been back to Scarborough yet
5:03
Have you got any sort of feedback? Because I just think it's great when people represent parts of the country
5:08
that nobody really often talks about, you know? And there you are
5:12
This is for Scarborough. Yeah, definitely. I absolutely love Scarborough. I haven't been back yet, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks
5:19
I will get a chance. I know there was a massive contingent sport
5:23
at the local rugby club up there, which is fantastic. And, yeah, I've had so much support from up there
5:28
I love the stuff about John Mitchell there getting the tattoo from Ellie. Not you, Ellie Kildan, who's played for the team, wasn't you
5:35
What was I getting up to? So what about yourself? Is there something that will be a permanent fixture on you
5:42
to celebrate what happened over the weekend or not? I think a few of the girls went yesterday to kind of get tattoos
5:48
Meg actually got me lifting the trophy at the end, which was pretty cool. But, yeah, kind of needs an inspiration
5:53
You can't really have a tattoo of yourself, though. On yourself, can you
5:57
No, I've got no. No, but, yeah, no, just... If anyone has any inspiration, then, yeah, I'd love to know
6:03
But, yeah, we'll see. And, Captain, where is the trophy? I'm actually not sure where it is
6:10
I saw it yesterday again. But I presume it's at Allianz Stadium somewhere
6:14
being stored in a vault maybe now. Oh, goodness, don't lose it
6:19
And I don't have one at nine years ago. You want to find that, Zoe. Zoe, it's been brilliant talking to you
6:24
Thank you very, very much indeed. Congratulations. Yes. And you enjoy every minute of it
