In the Gospel of John, we meet a man named Nicodemus. He was educated, moral and deeply religious

He was actually a religious leader of the time. If anyone seemed good enough for God, it was him

yet he himself knew something was missing and there must be more to life and it troubled him

He watched Jesus and his ministry for some time and he knew that this was different to anything

he had seen before. So he came to Jesus at night with honest questions about eternal life

and the reply was surprising. You must be born again Jesus said. Nicodemus was confused how can

someone be born twice But Jesus wasn talking about a second physical birth He was talking about a spiritual one He teaches that the spiritual life begins with a new start that God gives It not about becoming more religious and it not about trying harder It about receiving

this new life from God. Jesus was talking about the life in the spirit. So why is this necessary

Because according to Jesus, our problems aren't just that we sometimes make choices. It's that

something is broken at a deeper level. We can all sense it, the guilt we can't shake, the habits we

can't fix, the selfishness we can't overcome. We can improve ourselves outwardly, but we can't

actually change our own hearts completely. Jesus explains that being born again means inner renew
