The Chibi News Daily Reflection

Welcome to St Michael's Church in New Haven. I'm Marcus Mack, a vicar in the Church of England

A landowner went out to hire workers for his vineyard. At 9am he found workers who agreed
0:21
to work for the typical daily wage. More were found at 12 than at 3pm and were offered the
0:27
same rates. At 5pm he found others unable to find work who also agreed to work in his vineyard

When evening came the owner paid the workers their wages. Those hired at 5pm were paid the daily wage
0:43
and those hired first, having done most of the work, expecting to receive more, receive the same
0:50
daily wage. After complaining about this the owner said, didn't you agree to work for the daily wage
0:57
I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you

The lesson here is that no matter the length of our labours for Jesus
1:08
the reward of receiving eternal life will be equal for all. Whether someone served for one day or 100 years
1:16
God will grant them entrance into heaven. The gift of heaven is not based, given on our service
1:24
but on the grace and generosity of God
