Hello there and welcome to another episode of ups and downs for Maul Shadowlord and this time it is
0:07
for episode 6. Yes we have started once again looking at the ups and the downs and we've only
0:15
got four episodes left but so far it's been absolutely brilliant so let's get going and
0:21
look at some of the ups for episode 6. So an up straight away looking at Maul training now his
0:26
legs are working we can see how he meditates well his form of meditation which is training
0:32
getting back into the force using his lightsaber and it was really good to see his kind of mentality
0:38
in that alone time where you know he is thinking he is planning and he is sorting out what he needs
0:45
to do especially now that the empire is here and it was just nice to see that scene of him
0:50
having that time to himself it was also really nice to see that dynamic between him and rook
0:55
as well and the conversations between them. I've really been enjoying this dynamic of the two of
1:00
them so more of those scenes in the future please. Also I'm going to give an up to Maul looking a bit
1:06
on edge. Yeah the Empire is here and you can see that he is worried especially now that the
1:13
Inquisitors are here and Maul is aware that the Inquisitors are here. For the first time in a long
1:18
time we are starting to see Maul look fearful but I don't think that'll last for long. Now he knows
1:25
are there he'll have a new plan in place but it's good to see this side of mole our favorite and
1:31
hero and again we're going to give an up to lawson as much as he wants to help those in need his
1:37
priority which is great is always going to be his son and as much as he wants to help dackey who he
1:43
sees as a fellow father at the devon riley will always be his first priority and he will make sure
1:49
that he is safe now that the empire is here over helping others and i really like this side of
1:54
lawson the protective father standing up for those who need it but always putting his son first which
2:00
you'll find in a lot of shows as well that usually they'll ignore family and do the greater good
2:05
this guy is a family man and he is standing up for riley and protecting them love this guy i'm
2:10
not going to give it up to the teenagers getting spent some time together and interacting it was
2:15
actually a really nice scene both of them worried both of them chatting but showing that both of
2:20
are good people and is it safe to say there could be a little bit of romance and flirtation between
2:25
the two of them i don't know but it could happen but they are definitely going to have at least
2:31
brother sister vibes moving forwards and i can see these two having more scenes together and i'm
2:36
interested to see how that dynamic works as well is lawson going to end up taking devon under his
2:41
wing because of as i predicted dackey i don't think is going to survive but who knows how this
2:48
is going to work is Riley gonna end up having some force sensitive abilities I hope not I'd hate for
2:55
that to happen because not everyone needs to be force sensitive but we'll see what happens in future
2:59
but Riley starting to get a bit more screen time which I feel we going to see more of in the future but yes an up for the interaction between the two of them I also going to give an up just to the father bond and Daki and Lawson they are understanding each other they may not agree on the course of action
3:14
but they understand where each of them are coming from and that they are trying to protect their
3:19
younglings as it were and yeah really enjoying this dynamic of Lawson and Daki and I feel like
3:25
this is going to grow and we'll see further in the episode it does they have a mutual respect for
3:30
each other but understand why maybe they can't work together at this point and i'm going to give
3:36
it up for the fact that it was a trap yes they let lawson go knowing that he is going to work
3:42
with the jedi thinking lawson was getting away with it but no those force echoes from the last
3:48
episode i believe told marrock that lawson had these jedis working with them they trust him and
3:55
if they followed him for long enough he would lead them to it and as it seems Marok has now
4:01
found them. I'm going to give it up to the battle inside the kitchen living area as well. Very close
4:07
quarters, very intimate but Daki once again shown his skill as a master Jedi and it was really nice
4:15
to see like a very close knit close quarters battle. Usually there's a bit more open space but
4:20
this one really showing the skills of everyone involved and how seasoned they are is inquisitors
4:27
jedi padawans and fighting off marak as well devon again stepping up and showing her skills
4:34
daki really has trained her well but is it well enough to dissuade her from more well we don't
4:40
know i'm gonna give it up to devon as well we've talked about it before but yes she's really coming
4:45
into her own she's really standing up she's taking on a full airship like come on that is not a start
4:53
now padawan that is someone that is ready to stand on their own and yeah i thought devon absolutely
4:58
kicks some butt in this episode she's done really really well and yeah protecting lawson and his son
5:03
she's done a good job deserves an up and also let's give an up for taking the ship as well
5:08
that's pretty cool this girl's got it and we know why maul wants that on his side as well
5:15
also i'm going to give it up for this scene it just looks awesome with marak looking over
5:19
the pan and away of the camera absolutely loved it thought it looked cool i am really loving the
5:25
art style i know i've mentioned that a lot but i do i love it it just looks so cool and in a nice
5:31
change compared to all of the car battles we've had in vehicle battles we now have an airship battle
5:37
Nice sort of change up, but we do like some fast-paced shooting and action
5:42
This show has really been amping up the action from episode one
5:47
Absolutely brilliant. Really love it. It's really keeping me engrossed. It's really keeping me interested
5:53
I feel like this season is one of the best seasons of Star Wars TV
5:58
Sorry, Ando. Love you. But this is top-notch Star Wars content. I not gonna give Devon and up for the London as well especially ship that was hard to handle she done a really good job future rogue pilot who knows i giving up for the 80 ac reveal just stepping through we saw one briefly early in the episode
6:20
but we get a proper look at it here and with the mixed art style and the purple backgrounds
6:25
i just thought it looked really really cool and she's back soul returns so she's getting it up
6:31
Really interesting character and we get a little bit more information on her
6:36
She really, really values Lawson and we'll find out why very, very soon
6:41
And we're getting it up for more Spybot sass. Trashy droids, him hovering around
6:47
He's really on the pulse of what is happening. But yes, love Spybot
6:51
Love the short scenes. Really sells it as a character. I'm giving it up for this one as well
6:56
I really have been enjoying the Maul and Rook interactions. rook willing to stand up to maul say i don't think this is right but maul again has everything in
7:07
hand but he's willing to risk it all to get devon which shows that he has a future plan involving her
7:14
that maybe he hasn't shared with rook and i'm going to give it up for the soul and lawson law
7:19
drop soul used to be a bounty hunter lawson seen before he was a detective i think he was a bounty
7:26
hunter as well. I could be totally wrong but why else would he be there if they weren't hunting for
7:31
the same bounty? They both looked after each other. They both saved each other. Lawson is an impeccable
7:38
shot. He had to have been a bounty hunter that maybe met his wife. Maybe the wife was tracking
7:44
him as part of working for the empire or back then before the empire was a thing but then she's moved
7:50
over to the empire i really want more of the lawson backstory but i do feel he used to be a
7:56
bounty hunter as well and that's why he's so good at what he does and he's he's changed he became a
8:01
father it's made him more of a good guy and didn't want to be a bounty hunter anymore well that's the
8:06
impression i'm getting anyway but an up for the lawson low drop loved it also giving it up for
8:11
this bit because it just made me laugh the get ready to run just he knows what's going to happen
8:17
He knows the Empire and with Sol saying, if something goes wrong, just run
8:22
He knows that they are going to have to run. And I just found it really funny
8:26
And up again, the Lawson, his instinct before anything is to get his son to safety
8:31
And he's willing to take on the Empire to do so. Daki, the same, sending off Devon
8:38
Both of them know they need to protect their young. And they are willing to stand up against anyone in order to do so
8:45
And I'm giving it up for the quip-offs. I am loving the dynamic between Daki and Lawson, the father-father kind of dad jokes kind of thing and the quick quips to each other as they're going through. Loving this dynamic. More of these two working together. It's good fun. Even though it's a tough situation with the Empire, they are still having a bit of fun with it. You can tell they are enjoying what they are doing
9:08
And just nub for Spybot, Spybon. And giving it up to Devon yet again no fear At the start of this season she was scared to stand up to Maul because she knew she would lose yes she has no choice here but she not shown fear she is willing to step up and she really
9:26
starting to get confidence in her ability she's taking on a blooming inquisitor and holding her
9:31
own these are meant to be some of the toughest people to take on and she is shown that she can
9:37
do it she is strong with the force and i think maul can sense this and again i'm just going to
9:42
given up because this scene looks absolutely amazing the art team the direction the cinematography
9:48
whatever you want to call it this show looks so good and it needs to get awards for how good this
9:55
looks and what an entrance from mall always just appearing just when you need them so yes that's
10:01
getting up i thought this is a really fun way for mall to appear and really enjoyed the ensuing battle
10:06
and then we have devon starting to trust maul really enjoyed this you can see she is conflicted
10:13
but the enemy of my enemy as she's been putting it is my friend and again this trust building
10:20
maul knows what he's doing he's not saying come join me he's just slowly building the trust
10:27
working together showing that he is also against the empire to convince devon to join him but again
10:34
absolutely amazing battle loved it also going to give an up for the lightsaber throw as well i
10:40
thought that was really cool and nice work by mole and one of our final scenes in the episode
10:45
the devon mole standoff you can see that devon is conflicted she knows she should take him out
10:52
she has the perfect opportunity to do so but she knows it would be wrong mole standing down
10:59
Turning off his lightsaber, not using it against Devon, showing that he is willing to trust her and she does the same
11:08
Where does this lead us in the next episode? I don't know, but I am so excited to see
11:14
Is this where Maul finally turns Devon to his mindset and his thinking
11:18
Now that she is away from Daki, Maul has the perfect opportunity to convince her
11:24
And is Lawson's son going to be the voice of reason instead of against Maul
11:28
we will see next episode and our final scene maroc talking to someone is it darth vader because
11:35
that's his boss or is it palpatine is it sidious we don't know but what a cliffhanger to leave us
11:43
moving into episode seven but one episode of maul shadow lord i hadn't give it any downs that is
11:51
