HY-100: Turkey Starts Mass Production of "Secret" Submarine Steel

Turkey has initiated domestic manufacture of HY-100 steel, a critical ingredient for submarine construction. Steel was originally imported but is now produced locally. This helps Turkey to reduce its dependency on foreign sources while still supplying the shipyard for its national submarine project.
