Mother, 2 year-old daughter ID'd in 1997 cold case

Well, we're also following some breaking news out of Long Island

That's where Nassau County police have just revealed the identities of two murder victims

from more than two decades ago. Fox News Jody Goldberg is live in Mineola with some new information on all of this

Jody. Bianca, we knew her as Peaches, and now police have identified her as Tanya Jackson

And we know her daughter, who was also found murdered, is Tatiana s

Take a look at these pictures. We're seeing them for the first time just released by the Nassau County Police Department

We're learning more about the mother and daughter found murdered in 97 and then in 2011

We're told Tanya Denise Jackson, seen on your screen, was a 26-year-old single mom

She was a U.S. Army veteran who was possibly employed at a doctor's office while living in Brooklyn

As for her daughter, Tatiana Marie , she was two years old when she was found

Tanya, who got the name Peaches because of a bitten peach tattooed on her

her torso was first found in a container at Hempstead Lake State Park back in 1997

Other body parts belonging to her as well as her daughter were found in 2011 at Jones Beach

These photos you're looking at show the jewelry the two women, the two Tanya, rather

the mother and her daughter were wearing. And this car is similar to the one police say she was driving

Investigators tell us Tanya was born in Alabama and had ties to Georgia Texas and Missouri The ID is made possible thanks to DNA technology and advancements over the years along with a joint effort from Nassau County Police the DA office and the FBI

The reality is our work has just begun. Knowing the identities of the mom and the little baby is just a first step

to help us get to solving these murders. having their identities helps us now say to the public

you hadn't interacted with her, please contact us and let us know

Anybody who's in the military that might have served with her and remembers her, please get in contact with us

Did you serve with her in the military? Were you a neighbor or a coworker during her time here in Brooklyn

Maybe you saw them at a medical appointment where she worked or were her friends

We want to hear from you. And now officials aren't ruling out a possible connection to the Gilgo Beach murder case

However, sources I've spoken with over the past hour tell me it is unlikely

We reached out to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. We're told the DA is not commenting on this until an unrelated hearing involving Rex Heuerman wraps up
