I think that player contracts should be capped at five years

If, like, one or two of those deals are bad, you just cooked for like eight or ten years. It's not the same in football, but it should just be five years

But one, then the fee is still being amortized in nine years and you're still paying for that

But also two, if a player does really, really well, it doesn't matter if there's seven years left

on his contract. He's coming for a new one. If the player is sh-brose, it matters because he ain't

losing a dime nor shooting. It's your dumb decision to give him nine years. But like this isn't

wise for the clubs. It's just such short-term thinking. And that's what we're why so many of these clubs, particularly in COVID, you saw it, like, how shaky the financial

grounds are. And the more deals like this, the more teams are going to be risking what happened

to Bordeaux going to an administration. I mean, I saw that Holland said he was like almost a bit

shut up. I'm not having that. He's like, I'm uncomfortable with being unimaginably wealthy for

nine and a half years. I feel like for a player, though, it could also be a bad thing to sign for

that long because money and football is going up as well. So you signed this long-term deal
