Delicious Mango Lassi
Mango Lassi is a popular and refreshing Indian drink made with yogurt, ripe mangoes, and a touch of sweetness. It's a perfect beverage to enjoy on a hot day or to complement spicy dishes. This smoothie-style drink offers a perfect blend of creamy and tangy flavors that will cool you down and energize you at the same time.
Ingredients:
1 large ripe mango, peeled and chopped
1 cup plain yogurt (or Greek yogurt for a thicker texture)
1/2 cup milk (adjust to desired consistency)
2 tablespoons honey or sugar (or more to taste)
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional, for extra flavor)
Ice cubes (optional, for a colder drink)
Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Mango: Peel and chop the mango into small pieces, making sure to remove the pit. The riper the mango, the sweeter your lassi will be.
Blend the Ingredients: Add the mango pieces, yogurt, milk, and honey (or sugar) into a blender. Optionally, add the cardamom for an authentic touch. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Adjust Consistency: If the lassi is too thick for your liking, add more milk, a little at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. For a frosty version, add a handful of ice cubes and blend again.
Taste and Sweeten: Taste your lassi and adjust sweetness by adding more honey or sugar if desired. Blend again to incorporate the sweetness evenly.
