0:35
guys Pete heg he's kind of feeling the
0:39
way all of us are feeling right now
0:42
after a devastating devastating crash
0:46
between a commercial
0:47
airline and a Blackhawk
0:50
helicopter what happened last night was
0:54
an American Tragedy it's one of the
0:56
worst Aviation disasters in history
1:02
and we're all looking for
1:04
answers how did the Army let this happen
1:08
how did the the the air traffic
1:12
controllers let this happen What
1:13
happened on board these two
1:15
aircrafts these are things
1:18
that gosh we're going to be answer
1:20
asking these questions for a long time
1:22
I'm absolutely devastated hearing the
1:25
stories about the lives lost in this
1:28
tragedy it tugs at your heart strings
1:30
I've I've seen videos posted to
1:32
Instagram from some of the figure
1:35
skaters posting videos right before they
1:37
left
1:39
Camp knowing that families were on that
1:42
plane even on on the Blackhawk these are
1:44
people's
1:45
children it's
1:48
absolutely devastating to us as a
1:51
nation and we all mourn and pray for
1:54
these families who've lost loved ones
2:00
Pete hegseth the new secretary of
2:02
defense he made an announcement about
2:04
this he's calling for an operational
2:07
pause while this is investigated I will
2:10
tell you that one of my questions and I
2:11
want to know if you're with
2:13
me a Blackhawk helicopter as I've read
2:15
from experts um one particular expert is
2:18
incredibly hard to see it's designed
2:20
that way it's designed to be hard to see
2:23
even with the lights that kind of blend
2:24
in with the city lights it becomes very
2:26
hard to see this aircraft so my question
2:28
is
2:30
why would we be
2:32
testing Blackhawk helicopters over
2:36
populated cities with high air traffic
2:38
why is that a thing it doesn't make any
2:42
sense I'm sure somebody smarter than I
2:45
knows the answer to that
2:47
question but I certainly don't and I do
2:49
want to know I would like you to listen
2:52
to what Pete Heth had to say and let me
2:54
know what you think in the comments but
2:56
I also wanted to give an update on the
2:58
tragedy that happened last night here in
2:59
Washington DC and provide a little bit
3:01
more information as we are actively uh
3:04
working uh to investigate and understand
3:07
what occurred and why um at about 8:48
3:11
last night a uh60 assigned to the US
3:14
Army Aviation Brigade uh in the military
3:17
District of Washington Fort belor
3:19
Virginia collided tragically With a
3:21
Civilian airliner um the the unit
3:25
involved the army unit involved was
3:26
Bravo Company 12th Aviation Battalion at
3:29
Fort belir uh it was an annual
3:31
proficiency training flight uh and when
3:34
we look at the crew and we're not all
3:36
not all K have been notified so we're
3:38
going to withhold ranks and names at
3:40
this point we do know um on our side who
3:43
was involved it was a fairly experienced
3:46
crew um and that was doing a required
3:49
annual night evaluation they did have uh
3:52
night vision
3:53
goggles uh the 12th Aviation Battalion
3:57
as of now has granted a 48 hour
3:59
operational pause uh on contingency
4:01
missions as what happened uh is reviewed
4:04
and a senior level Aviation team an
4:07
investigative team from our Aviation
4:08
Safety Center uh was deployed last night
4:11
and already is in Washington DC to
4:13
investigate what's going on um we
4:16
anticipate that the investigation will
4:17
quickly be able to determine whether the
4:19
aircraft was in the corridor and at the
4:20
right altitude at the time of the
4:23
incident um as I mentioned NEX ofkin
4:25
notifications are ongoing it's a tragedy
4:29
uh a horrible loss of life uh for those
4:32
64 Souls on that civilian airliner and
4:34
of course uh the three soldiers uh in
4:37
that Blackhawk um they're in our prayers
4:40
their families and their communities as
4:43
people are notified I can't imagine and
4:45
I know uh it's it's gone from a rescue
4:48
mission to a recovery Mission um and
4:51
we're with all the First Responders that
4:53
are moving actively too so at the
4:54
defense department our thoughts and
4:56
prayers go out we are actively
4:58
investigating to find out what happened
4:59
and why and as we get updates uh you
5:03
will have them God bless
