House Chaos - 'Republicans Lost The Majority

This week we have watched Republicans, well technically it's last week, we watched Republicans

pass an over $1 trillion omnibus. At the same time, we've seen Ken Buck retire in the past month and now Mike Gallagher says

he's retiring. Kevin McCarthy already left. The Republicans now have a one vote majority in the House

You couldn't replace the Speaker even if you wanted to at this point

How are you going to get the votes? You're not. You can't

So until they actually get a real majority, they kind of are at the mercy of Democrats

And in this new interview, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy pinpoints the time he believes

Republicans truly lost the majority in the House. Now I don't know if I agree with him, but he does make a valid point and I want you

Take care everybody. Now it's time for real leadership. Republicans sacrificed their own speaker in October and now we're doing it again in March

Joining me now, someone all too familiar with this process, former Speaker of the House

Kevin McCarthy. Kevin, what is going on with the spending and what just happened with Johnson

I don't know what they're doing spending now, but when I became speaker, I instituted a

72 hour rule that got not just the members the opportunity to read the bill, but America

as well. You'd never waive it unless it's a continuing resolution, something you're already doing

so people would know. I think it's always helpful to allow people to read the bill, allow America to read the

bill and really this comes down to what's happening in Congress today, goes back to

when those eight Republicans led by Gates partnered with every single Democrat to decide

who could be speaker. That's when Republicans lost the majority. Jesse, remember what we were able to do in a small majority the first nine months

The strongest, most conservative border security bill, energy independent. We did a parent's bill of rights

We stopped DC from decriminalizing. We stopped the pandemic officially. We stopped them from kicking out our men and women in the military who refused the vaccine

We had the biggest cut and savings voted on American history. More than two trillion dollars

We got welfare reform. We cut 20 billion of that from the IRS that was going to hire to go after us

You're very successful when you work together with a small majority and all those bills

had 72 hours to read them because people could get behind them

So how do you now feel that they got you out of there and they're spending millions of

dollars on shrinks for migrants and Fetterman's giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to

his favorite podcaster? How does the Senate, how is the Senate running things

Well that's it. If you have the majority, you've got to be willing to utilize the majority for the strength
