The Bud Light brand is so tarnished that they can't even give this stuff away
0:04
What's going on guys? This is Rob Smith for Explain America, and look
0:08
the Bud Light-Dylan Mulvaney debacle just keeps on getting worse. It is official. Anheuser-Busch
0:15
cannot give its product away for free after the trans publicity stunt. So according to images
0:21
shared on Twitter, stores in the Midwest are attempting to quote-unquote sell cases of Bud
0:27
Light beer for free before they get skunking on the shelves, with the company offering up to a
0:33
get this, $15 rebate on products sold this Memorial Day weekend. Now think about Memorial
0:40
Day weekend. Think about what we do during Memorial Day weekend. People go to the beach
0:44
they're out on the lakes, they're having beers, they're doing all of that stuff in any Memorial
0:49
Day previous to this one. Bud Light would have been the beer of choice for a lot of people who
0:54
were just looking to cut loose and have a little fun this weekend. That is not the case at this
0:59
point. The Bud Light brand is becoming so toxic that people just do not want to be associated
1:04
with it. Okay, so Twitter user Michael Haas shared pictures of displays from two stores
1:09
in Wisconsin. This is Wisconsin, folks. This is Wisconsin that loves its beer with the infamous
1:16
brand Bud Light attempting to offload 20 packs, originally priced at $15 for free after a rebate
1:26
And we look at this photo on Twitter, you realize that even after the rebate, even after basically
1:31
Bud Light saying that you will get this beer for free, the shelves are still stocked, okay
1:37
And this is not only in Wisconsin, folks. Another Twitter user by the name of Dandy Lion
1:44
shared a photo from his mire in Michigan, and this was a flyer advertising, get this, a mega 24 pack
1:53
of Bud Light for $3.49. And this guy wrote on Twitter, when I was a teenager in the early 80s
2:00
a six pack of beer cost $3.49. And it only gets worse, guys. They're just giving this stuff away
2:07
The few customers who buy Bud Light between May 17th and May 31st can submit their UPC and
2:14
receipt online to receive a prepaid card for the value of their purchase. Okay, folks
2:21
what you have to understand here is that this is fundamentally bad. Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch
2:29
have lost literally billions of dollars since this debacle. Now, look, you can be a conservative
2:35
influencer, or you can be somebody that rants and pontificates against wokeness and all of this stuff
2:43
on videos or cable news or whatever all you want. But the bottom line, folks, is that people are
2:49
just not buying Bud Light anymore. They are literally trying to give this stuff away
2:54
And when the people turn against a brand, when a brand has become as toxic as Bud Light has become
3:01
over the past couple of months due to this debacle, there's really kind of no coming back from this
3:06
right? And so when you look at these images that these people are sharing on Twitter, when you look
3:11
at not only Wisconsin giving this stuff away, but also this Meyer in Michigan, you realize that this
3:19
brand has a problem. Now, get this, shortly after the trans fiasco, a 2021 interview emerged of a top
3:28
Anheuser-Busch official describing how the brand uses the so-called diversity, equity, and inclusion
3:34
ideology when marketing its products. So if you want to look at the fact that Bud Light has lost
3:40
billions, when you want to look at the fact that they cannot even give this stuff away, it may lead
3:47
one to believe that maybe the trans marketing stunt was a mistake. This is Rob Smith for Explain America
