Again it really helps us out. So Judge Brown, Justice Brown, the one who was nominated and approved by President Joe

Biden, she's the newest member of the court and Justice Katanji, she gave an interview

with CBS Evening News on a variety of topics. Now she railed against the immunity decision that the Supreme Court gave to former President

Donald Trump and that was, you know, one part of the interview

But then the interviewer was anchor Nora O'Donnell, she asked her, look, this might come before

the Supreme Court this election. Are you guys prepared to rule on it

Now her reaction to it surprised even me and I think it makes a lot of people wonder how

her blistering dissent in that landmark immunity case. She granted CBS News her first TV interview since joining the nation's highest court ahead

of the publication of her memoir, Lovely One. Here's what she said about what worries her about the decision in Trump versus United States

In your dissent, you wrote that the court declared for the first time in history that

the most powerful official in the United States can, under circumstances yet to be fully determined

become a law unto himself. It sounds like a warning. Well, I mean, that was my view of what the court determined

You were concerned about broad immunity. I was concerned about a system that appeared to provide immunity for one individual under

one set of circumstances when we have a criminal justice system that had ordinarily treated

everyone the same. Are you prepared that this election could end up before the Supreme Court

As prepared as anyone can be. Let me ask you, are you prepared for all of the news cycles that you're getting as a result

of this election? No. No, exactly. I mean, I think there are legal issues that arise out of the political process

And so the Supreme Court has to be prepared to respond if that should be necessary
