Okay, Ben Fuller and my friends, you are
0:02
amazing. Let's just start there.
0:04
I'm not I'm not I wish you knew the me
0:07
before of Jesus, but
0:08
Well, that's kind of what I wanted to
0:09
talk about, which is going to lead me
0:10
into this little duet you have. That's
0:12
not a big deal. It's not It's no big
0:14
deal. But you have been very open about
0:16
who you were before and who you are now.
0:18
Why is it so important to you to tell
0:20
people that?
0:22
I think it really it's just it's the
0:24
blood of the lamb and the word of our
0:25
testimony. It's Jesus and what he can do
0:28
and how he can transform a life. I I
0:30
just meet so many people that are like,
0:32
"Well, you don't know what what I've
0:34
done. You don't know how bad I've been.
0:36
You don't know how far I've gone." And
0:38
it's like, man, you obviously don't know
0:40
the Jesus that I know because he'll go
0:42
to to any length to bring you back home.
0:45
So, I I just think it's important people
0:48
people think that they're that their bad
0:50
is the worst, right? And so it's like
0:52
you you you've done way worse than
0:55
anybody. And that is such a tool the
0:58
devil uses to hinder you from
1:00
surrendering to Jesus. And I've just
1:02
been meeting people that are so
1:05
terrified of like, well, he won't love
1:07
me because I've done this or he won't
1:09
take me back cuz I've done X or he
1:11
won't. And it's like, no, that's a lie.
1:13
He will and he loves you. So come on
1:15
home. The veil's already been torn. And
1:17
if I don't tell my story anymore,
1:19
then then the enemy's got a hold on me
1:22
and and all of a sudden the power of my
1:24
testimony is is gone, right? And I and I
1:26
forget who I am in Christ.
1:28
I love that.
1:28
And so I'm excited to tell my story
1:30
every night. Um and to tell it with a
1:33
fresh wind and a fresh fire cuz I know
1:36
somebody needs to hear it.
1:37
So we've been talking a lot to artists
1:39
tonight about how country music and
1:40
Christian music are kind of having a
1:42
moment together right now. You have a
1:43
song out with Carrie Underwood. It's not
1:46
a big deal. Who say that?
1:47
She was my first interview ever in 2005.
1:50
You're kidding me.
1:51
2005. So tell me how that song came to
1:53
be cuz it's Carrie Underwood.
1:54
Yeah, it's Carrie Underwood. Um, really
1:56
long story. I wrote it three and a half
1:57
uh years ago and I met this incredible
2:02
guy at a ministry event in Paduka,
2:04
Kentucky. His name was Bud. Bud and I
2:07
really hit it off. He said, "Hey man,
2:09
you'd love my brother. You got to meet
2:11
my brother." And so he set up this
2:14
breakfast date between his brother and I
2:16
and his brother ends up being Mike
2:18
Fiser. Well, I had no idea. He said
2:20
before I walked in, he said, "I just
2:22
have to tell you that uh by the way, my
2:24
brother's married to Carrie Underwood."
2:26
And I was like, "Oh, I guess I'll have
2:28
the eggs and um some white toast,
2:30
please." So, I didn't have any idea what
2:32
was happening. I'm like, "This is
2:33
crazy." And probably a year and a half
2:37
of breakfast and fellowship, Mike is
2:39
such a man of God. And I'm so grateful
2:42
for his his disciplehip and his love um
2:45
towards me. And he shared that song with
2:48
Carrie when it came time for the album.
2:50
And Carrie said, "I I want to sing on
2:52
it." And so next thing you know, we
2:55
ended up in the studio together and we
2:57
were praising the Lord.
2:58
Yeah. She's serious about her faith.
3:00
She is very serious about her faith. And
3:02
I feel like she's being called into even
3:05
more of that. So I'm excited to see in
3:07
the future. She loves singing about
3:09
Jesus and praising her Lord and she's
3:11
raising her boys up in Jesus and it's
3:13
it's really special to be a part of. So
3:16
I couldn't make that up though. I
3:17
couldn't ask her, "Hey, Miss Underwood,
3:19
would you sing a bit?" I couldn't. But
3:21
but that's what God can do. And so let
3:23
that be an encouragement, you know, to
3:25
the people waiting on doing something
3:27
big or having an incredible
3:29
collaboration happen. It's like, yeah,
3:31
God already knows.
3:32
Yeah. And you guys sound great together.
3:34
Thank you. I'm excited.
