hey guys it's Gale with everything Nash
0:03
on the Country Music Cruise with a
0:04
fantabulous way hay thanks for joining
0:06
us I'm glad to be here how are you I'm
0:09
good I'm glad you're here you looking
0:10
good well thank you and so are you oh
0:13
yeah I'm looking great you're looking
0:15
fantastic um why do you want to do the
0:18
cruise um I enjoy it I I really here
0:23
lately I've been um really thinking
0:27
about my life and things a lot and one
0:31
of the few things one of the very few
0:33
things in this life that I actually
0:35
enjoy is making people happy and the
0:39
rest of it the traveling the everything
0:43
is tough and uh especially now that I've
0:46
got you know all the stuff going on at
0:47
home it's tougher but I sincerely love
0:53
watching somebody's smile if I bring
0:55
back a memory of when we were all
0:58
younger and were hit songs on the radio
1:01
that we enjoyed and if they liked one of
1:04
my songs that brings back a memory to
1:06
them I get a kick out of that and I
1:08
sincerely love it so that's why I do it
1:12
and there are a lot of people from our
1:15
demo that um were there when these songs
1:19
came out and they were current on the
1:20
radio and that's why I do it and I don't
1:23
think people who haven't been on the
1:24
cruise realize how like artists are so
1:26
accessible like you hang out with them
1:28
you're where they are yeah I just had
1:30
dinner with some folks that I had no
1:32
idea who they were but but uh they knew
1:34
the old stuff and and came by and had a
1:37
good visit so and that's why you're
1:38
coming back next year yes I'll come back
1:40
as long as they have me all right well
1:42
we love having you I want to talk about
1:43
your music too old country still rocks
1:45
yeah talk about it that is an album I
1:49
could have made four of with ease it was
1:52
so very difficult to find songs that
1:55
it's it's an album of covers by the way
1:57
the title track old country still rocks
2:00
is a song that I wrote and it was just
2:03
me and and songs that I loved mentioning
2:06
artists that were influential to me and
2:08
stuff that I loved and um it still means
2:12
a lot to people like I said and and
2:15
younger folks this last two years I get
2:18
ahead of myself forgive me but
2:21
especially the last two years we've seen
2:23
a
2:24
huge um influx of younger people and um
2:29
kind of Rejuvenation of the 90s era when
2:32
I was having hits and these kids were
2:34
riding around in their Pop's truck
2:36
listening to my records and their old
2:38
man was going I dig this guy and um I
2:41
remember that exact feeling riding
2:43
around in my dad's truck listening to
2:44
Merl Haggard Willie neelson that's how I
2:46
became Die Hard fans of theirs so the
2:49
same things happened except I'm the old
2:51
guy now and they we remember your stuff
2:53
listening in our dad's truck and um so
2:56
these kids are coming to the shows and
2:58
there's a huge Resurgence of 90s sound
3:01
and I'm tickled to death I'm still
3:03
around and getting to enjoy it that's
3:05
you answered my follow-up question how
3:06
you feel about so many artists citing
3:09
you and other 90s artists as the
3:10
inspiration for the music that's coming
3:12
out it it really means a lot to me
3:14
because there there Comes A Time there
3:16
there's like a lull or was a bit of a
3:19
lull in between you know you're coming
3:21
off finally you know your stuff is not
3:23
played as much on the radio and then um
3:27
now that it's starting to get played
3:28
again and um well recently I saw a kid
3:34
named zap Zack top yeah so and he was
3:38
singing one of my songs on a u a Tik Tok
3:42
video and he and Dirks Bentley were
3:44
doing one of my Tunes in concert wow and
3:47
I thought man that I wish I could tell
3:50
them how much that means to me because
3:53
it really does it brought a tear to my
3:55
eye somebody actually thought thought
3:58
about me in that way you know hear your
4:00
name a lot when I talk to newer artists
4:02
about inspiration it it means I wish I
4:05
could tell them how much it means to me
4:06
because I don't think they have any idea
4:08
okay well I'll tell them next time I
4:09
talk please do uh we have to talk about
4:11
one more thing this week you are
4:12
celebrating an anniversary on the cruise
4:15
yes six years and I believe she liked me
4:18
for about six months of that six years
4:21
so we've got that going for okay I'm
4:23
kidding those are just jokes but yeah we
4:25
got married right before the cruise uh
4:28
January 25th th six years ago oh wow so
4:32
the 25th will be six years and we we
4:35
celebrate it every year on the cruise
4:36
well happy anniversary to you thank you
4:39
anything else we need to talk about
4:40
coming up this year um just a lot we're
4:43
we're busy and touring you're like you
4:45
have coner dates out playing all over
4:47
the United States as soon as I get home
4:49
I take off to North Carolina then jump
4:51
on a plane to
4:53
Arizona and all points in between and um
4:57
starting to work on a new Rec
5:00
um I've got enough Tunes
5:03
written uh to do a new project and I'm
5:06
I'm really torn between doing an actual
5:08
greatest hits album or doing all new
5:11
Tunes because I really I'm weird about
5:14
visiting the past I always kind of want
5:16
to look forward as far as music goes
5:18
because I still have one dream that I
5:20
have not realized in my life and that's
5:23
to have another artist record a song
5:25
that I wrote and have a hit on it oh and
5:28
that is my one that I did not get to
5:30
realize yet yes and so that's what I'm
5:32
striving for so I continue to write
5:35
songs and make records and hopefully
5:37
somebody will hear something that turns
5:39
them on and record it I hope next year
5:41
we're talking about how that happened we
5:42
spoke it and it happened this year that
5:45
would make the whole journey complete
5:47
for me all right well next year I'm
5:49
holding us to it all right wait H guys
