It Smells Better Than It Taste — a quiet coffee newsletter where I share what I’m learning about coffee, curiosity, and daily rituals, this channel is an extension of that space: https://www.itsmellsbetterthanittaste.com/ It's co-ferment time — and I went in with zero expectations. In this video I'm tasting two co-fermented coffees back to back: a carbonic honey green apple and a peach co-ferment, both from the same producer, roasted a month ago and ready to rock. I brewed each one using two different methods, checked the roast degree on both, and gave you my most honest, unscripted first impressions from the first sniff to the last sip. Here's what surprised me most: these coffees deliver exactly what they promise. What you smell — dry, ground, wet — is exactly what you taste. That kind of honesty is rare, even if the flavor is bold and one-dimensional. I didn't expect to get behind co-fermented coffee, but here we are. Carbonic honey green apple: light roast, blood orange intensity, punchy and fruit-forward Peach co-ferment: deep peach aroma, fruit punch flavor, slight sweetness as it cools Both brewed using the Kefec filter and V60 with two different pour methods Honest take: incredibly flavorful, but not an everyday drinker — more of a weekend treat Real talk on co-fermented coffee's place in specialty coffee and why the base bean matters Have you ever tried a co-fermented coffee? What did you think — daily drinker or special occasion only? Drop it in the comments below, I want to know.
