HAVASUPAI | Visiting the most beautiful waterfalls in the world - Havasu, Mooney, and Beaver Falls
May 3, 2025
This week, we spend 4 days camping in the Havasupai Reservation. We put our names in the permit lottery last January, and to our surprise, got permits for early November!
Day 1 consists of hiking 10 miles down from the trailhead, through canyons, to reach the Havasupai campground.
Day 2, we headed down Havasu Creek and climbed down the cliff to reach Mooney Falls - very fun but very scary! Continuing downstream from there, we had to cross the cold creek 3 times, with water reaching up to our thighs. We eventually made it to Beaver Falls where we took a quick swim in the frigid water. We turned around once we reached the border with Grand Canyon National Park.
Day 3 we headed upstream from the campground to explore Havasu Falls, Little Navajo Falls, and Fifty Foot Falls. Nick playing around in Little Navajo Falls was the highlight of his day.
Day 4 involved making the long uphill climb out of the canyon back to the trailhead, which was more exhausting than we expected!
