Apr 16, 2023
Once upon a time, there lived a wealthy merchant who was famous for his wealth and arrogance. He believed that he was the wisest and the most intelligent person in the world. One day, he decided to test the intelligence of all the wise men in the kingdom. He called all the wise men and asked them a question, "Who is the biggest fool in the world?" The wise men pondered for a while and came up with different answers. Some said that the biggest fool was the person who did not have any education, while others said that the biggest fool was the person who did not have any wealth. However, the merchant was not satisfied with any of their answers. He thought that he was the wisest person in the world, and he wanted the wise men to acknowledge his wisdom. Finally, one old man stepped forward and said, "The biggest fool in the world is the person who thinks he knows everything." The merchant was taken aback by the old man's answer. He realized that he had been arrogant and foolish in thinking that he knew everything. He humbled himself and asked the old man to forgive him. From that day on, the merchant learned to listen to others and respect their opinions. He realized that true wisdom comes from acknowledging that one does not know everything. The moral of the story is that arrogance and pride can make a person foolish. True wisdom comes from humility and the willingness to listen to others. https://diversionedge.com/category/story/
