Hi, it's the Brooker That Gratitude Guy. The start of a new year, 2014. Just a
0:05
couple days ago we started off with the new year and I happened to drive by a gym yesterday and it was just packed with people and somebody sarcastically
0:13
said to me later, hey check back in a month we'll see how it looks. I thought well that's the thing sometimes about New Year's resolutions, people don't
0:19
always follow through. They have the best intentions and I know that just because
0:23
it didn't work yesterday doesn't mean it can't work today or tomorrow. So a great
0:27
way to start but one of the things that I've noticed a great way to stay solid
0:31
to stay consistent on your New Year's resolutions or new efforts or inputs or
0:35
whatever you want to call it is a gratitude journal. It's a great way to track your progress. Every single day you're writing in this gratitude journal
0:43
six to seven minutes you can easily add I walked two or three miles, I drank two
0:48
liters of water, I had this kind of food, I started this new exercise program. You
0:51
can record your weight right alongside your daily number. It's a great way to
0:55
keep track of it. Another thing I've noticed too if you can get an accountability partner, somebody who's a workout partner, personal trainer
1:02
somebody that gets out there with you every single day, makes such a difference. It's such a great way to build momentum. I said on a recent video we could all go
1:10
walk a mile or most of us could but you couldn't walk 365 miles at the end of
1:14
the year and say hey we're good for the year. But if you just do a mile or two every single day you'll develop tremendous momentum. That's what a
1:21
gratitude journal does as well. So think about that if you've got one great if
1:25
not you can get one at thebrooker.com. Get a spiral notebook, whatever it is
1:29
but use that six or seven minutes to be grateful and then add in those pieces
1:33
that are part of that New Year's resolution and really make some ways to
1:36
turn over new leaves in your life and get really healthy mentally, physically
1:40
financially, emotionally, whatever it might be. Use the gratitude journal. It makes a huge huge difference. That's it for today. Have a grateful day. We'll see
1:48
you tomorrow
