Defeating Depression Through Gratitude - By Using a Gratitude Journal: It seems that everyday we find more people that are suffering from depression, sadness, a loss of hope, or just a general sense of being overwhelmed by the pressure and stress of life.
There are many coping mechanisms available, however many of them are very destructive, and in some cases, deadly. By utilizing the principles of gratitude, and in particular a gratitude journal, one is able to fend off the negative forces that seem to take over our lives at times.
By writing in a gratitude journal, an individual reframes and refocuses their life onto everything they have versus what they don't have. The result is a better outlook, attitude, and most importantly, a very healthy coping mechanism to manage life's ups and downs.
