It is the tallest temple tower in the world and is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Another great experience is trying paan at Keshave Paan Shop. It is a delicacy made of areca nuts and betel leaves, and it must be chewed and then spat out, as swallowing it can cause serious issues. The Durga Mandir Temple is also a great place to visit, built in honor of the goddess who protected a king’s daughter when she fell in love with an exiled prince. A boat ride on the Ganges River is also a must when visiting Varanasi, as it will give visitors a new perspective of the city and its religious significance. Finally, be sure to eat puri kachori, a street food made with chickpeas, curry, and vegetables that has an amazing flavor.
