Woodturning - Baseball Ball Egg

In this week’s woodturning video, I will be taking a baseball ball on the spin a turn it into a giant dragon egg. Using my favourite Australian mallee burl wood for the base I used some resin to secure the wood onto the base. Then it was time to mix up some deep pour epoxy resin with a slight blue tint. After one week of curing in the pressure pot it was time to shape this in my woodturning lathe. To achieve a flawless finish, we meticulously sand the mug to a smooth 4000 grit and finished with several layers of clear gloss lacquer for premium look.
