So if you're traveling this year, you know that things are not quite like they were in the past
0:05
There is a lot that you have to keep track of. Be very, very, very patient about when you're traveling this year
0:11
So I wanted to bring you a few of the app to smooth things out a bit
0:14
So here are the top 10 apps I recommend for travel this year
0:18
Now, the first one I want to talk to you about is Hopper. Now, this is one that I've talked about in the past that I typically use to find when is the best time to buy a flight
0:27
So for instance, if I'm looking for a flight from L.A. to Honolulu and I see that it's saying a certain price range, it'll always tell me our prices going up, going down. It also gives me the chance to set up an alert so that they can notify me when the prices change. And so this is what I've been using Hopper for. However, they recently launched a new section whereby you can look at hotel prices and have the ability to lock in a rate. You pay a small deposit and it locks in that rate. So if you're
0:57
you don't aren't ready to book right then, you can save your spot essentially and still be able to
1:03
get that same price if you book down the road. There are some certain caveats to that, but it is
1:07
something that is excellent if you're trying to think about a couple different places and you're
1:12
not really sure which one is the right one for you. That allows you to walk in rates. Because as we
1:17
know right now during COVID, with the high, high demand of everybody traveling again, prices are going
1:23
up like crazy. Anything that can give you that data to help you understand if it's a good time
1:27
to buy or not or locking in low prices is absolutely an app you need to use this year
1:32
The next one I want to talk about is reopen EU and if you haven't seen my video about travel
1:38
to the European Union this year please take a look at it up here where I talk about some of the
1:43
things you need to know if you are planning to go to Europe this year. But this is the app that is
1:47
offered by the European Tourism Authority and it gives you the most up-to-date information
1:53
about restrictions, what the COVID restrictions are, what you need to travel there, whether you
1:57
and fly there or not, what the situation is, it is absolutely a million percent vital
2:03
if you are planning to go to Europe this year. And so this website will always give you the most up information about the countries you are wanting to visit on your vacation All right the next one I want to talk about is eat with
2:15
Now, this one is new and cool and I think it's just amazing
2:19
It's not available in all destinations worldwide, but it is growing and growing and growing
2:24
It has the opportunity to have a meal with a local. So, for instance, if you're growing to, say, Italy, you have an opportunity to eat with a local Italian family
2:35
It is an excellent way to meet people, get to know the locals, experience actual authentic cuisine
2:42
I always recommend doing something like this at the beginning of your trip because when you meet
2:46
locals and get to share their experiences, they're going to give you so much amazing tips
2:51
and ideas and things that you can see and do that you're going to want to incorporate over
2:55
the rest of your vacation. So always plan something like this right at the beginning of your vacation
3:00
But this is an excellent way for you to immerse yourself more fully into the culture
3:04
of where you're going. My next recommendation is lounge buddy or priority pass
3:09
Now, as you know, if you've seen any of my videos or if you've heard any of the news lately
3:14
airports are kind of a pain in the butt right now. They are complete chaos
3:19
Even the airlines have warned, hey, guess what? Going to be chaos
3:23
And that is because of all of the ever-changing COVID restrictions, all of the customs and TSA agents trying to stay up to date
3:29
Some people have digital. Some people don't. It's a mess. And again, see that video that I linked before because it gives you
3:35
some of those things you need to know to help mitigate that chaos as much as possible
3:40
But this is one of the things that will help make that experience a little more pleasant
3:45
And what it is, is lounge buddy actually will show you what first class lounges are available
3:49
in your airport. And it also lets you know if they have a day rate. So if you get to the airport super, super early, which I highly recommend you get there
3:57
super super early, especially if you're going internationally, this will show you which first class
4:02
lounges, you can pay 35 bucks, 45, 50. Hey, it's going to be worth it if it means you get to
4:07
relax more comfortably. Usually you get free food and drinks and just have a much more pleasant
4:14
experience while you waiting in the airport for your trip If lounge buddy doesn have everything that you like you can also look at Priority Pass Now Priority Pass is actually a membership where you pay to belong and then you get
4:26
access to Priority Pass lounges all over the world. And you can look at both of these apps to see
4:32
which one will meet the needs of the location that you're going to be in, both where you're leaving
4:37
from and also where you're going and any airports that you're going to be traveling through if you have a long
4:41
layover, you'll want to check that airport as well. My next app that I find super help
4:46
is Packpoint. Now, Packpoint is an excellent app for helping make sure you remember everything
4:52
that you need to pack. What you do is you actually put in your location that you're going and some of the
4:56
things you're going to be doing. And they help to jog your memory and make a note of everything you
5:02
need to pack so you don't forget a thing. And on that note, be sure when you are traveling this year
5:07
on your packing list, add printed everything. And by that I mean bring a printed copy of your
5:14
hotel reservation, your airline ticket, your vaccine, your, you have to be tested, your test
5:20
anything you possibly can bring that printed copy because sometimes those scanners aren't
5:25
working and sometimes those TSA and customs agents won't accept digital. They want to see the hard
5:30
copy. So make sure you add that to your packing list. The next one is Sky Guru. Now this one's a little
5:36
rudimentary, but if you haven't been flying for a while or you get a little nervous flying
5:40
this one is excellent. It is actually created by airline pilots and helps get you a behind
5:46
the scenes look at what it is you're going to experience in your flight. When to expect turbulence
5:51
when the turbulence is going to end, what it is that the flight is going through. For anybody
5:56
who's a nervous traveler or just would like to have that information, it is an excellent
6:00
excellent tool to have at your disposal and might make that flight a little less fear-inducing
6:05
I guess you should say. The next one is time shifter. Now, this one is highly recommended by
6:10
just about any type of travel group you've ever heard of. It is amazing if you are going to be changing time zones and have to worry about jet lag
6:19
What it does is it helps you start planning for that new time change and helps you understand
6:25
okay, eat now, sleep now. You should do this You should not do this to help you begin adjusting to the jet lag early And so it doesn hit you as hard It also works in coming home as well
6:36
It helps make those little, little tiny things that you could do that will make the jet lag
6:41
far less devastating, I guess is the right word to say. So if you're going to be going any other time zones, this one you absolutely should have
6:48
The next one is Trippett. Now, Trippett is amazing for being able to keep a digital itinerary of everything that you're doing
6:55
And it is something highly recommended to be able to have all of your plans accessible from one place
7:00
And there's nothing really else to say about it. It's just a great place to keep yourself organized, especially this year during COVID
7:06
Organization is really the number one thing you need to be on top of and have and be able to do
7:11
because of all of the rules changing constantly in and out. It's a great idea to have something that keeps you more organized
7:18
All right, my next one is Google Maps. Now, Google Maps is amazing just for navigating wherever it is that you're going
7:23
because not only does it give you the most up-to-date map information, but also public transit
7:29
The other cool thing is if you don't have Wi-Fi or you were worried about using too much data
7:34
you can actually download the map of where you're going for offline use
7:38
So for me, I downloaded the map of Tokyo, so that way I had access to it
7:42
even if I didn't have Wi-Fi or didn't want to use my data. And the last one I recommend if you're going internationally is Google Translate
7:50
Now, a lot of you already know about this one, but this one's excellent. for if you need to know another language. Not only will it help you know, oh, this is how you say
7:57
blah, blah, blah in that language, but also it has a camera feature where you point it at some
8:03
writing and it'll translate it for you right on your phone. So it's really great when you're in
8:07
foreign airports and you need to be able to read the signs. Also, they have the feature where you
8:12
can speak and then you hold it up to somebody who's speaking another language and it translates
8:16
it for them and then they speak and it translates it for you. It is a great tool to have
8:20
So those are the top 10 apps that I recommend for travel this year. If you found that helpful at all, if you could give us a thumbs up, I'd certainly appreciate it
8:27
And if we can help with your vacation at all, please be sure to hit us up on our website, which is linked below
