Once one of the biggest stars on YouTube, Caspar Lee left the platform in 2019 to co-found multiple companies, including influencer.com, MVE Management, and Proper Living.
Now, the 30 year old entrepreneur is teaming up with Google to launch a new AI tool designed to change the way we work.
But here's the twist… In the spirit of his prankster roots, I’ve used AI to generate some of my interview questions. Will Caspar be able to tell the difference between AI and a journalist?

hi my name is Casp hi my name is Casp hi
0:02
my name is Casp and as you may or may
0:03
not know me and my roommate Joe like to
0:05
prank each other you might remember Casp
0:08
from his days as one of YouTube's
0:09
biggest pranksters thing I've ever seen
0:15
like holy he skyrocketed to fame back in
0:19
the 2010s captivating Millions with his
0:22
videos and building a massive following
0:24
along the way he left YouTube in 2019
0:27
but Casper's Journey didn't stop there
0:30
he's now a successful entrepreneur using
0:32
his experience as a Creator to co-found
0:35
influencer.com along with two other
0:37
companies MV management and proper
0:39
living now he's teaming up with Google
0:42
to launch a new AI tool designed to
0:44
streamline the way people work and I'm
0:46
about to sit down with him to find out
0:48
all about it but I thought why not make
0:51
things a little bit more interesting so
0:53
in the spirit of Casper's pranking days
0:55
I've used AI to generate some of my
0:57
questions let's see if he can tell the
0:59
difference between Ai and a journalist
1:02
I'm doing an interview for a
1:06
newspaper in that case my advice is all
1:09
about being interesting and engaging are
1:11
you scared that I might say something
1:13
wrong about you and make you sound
1:16
bad I'm an AI language model so I don't
1:19
experience emotions like fear but I do
1:21
understand that you want to represent me
1:22
accurately I'm always like I like you I
1:25
like you a lot all right sorry so you've
1:27
been a content creator since the very
1:28
early days of YouTube
1:30
how have you found the transition from
1:32
being a content creator into now
1:34
managing your own businesses and being a
1:36
founder and what do you think is key to
1:38
staying relevant it was really hard in
1:40
the beginning cuz I I kind of felt um
1:44
like I shouldn't be in certain rooms
1:46
because I was a YouTuber and you know
1:49
that's one thing and I understood how to
1:51
like hold a camera and talk to one and
1:53
edit videos but I didn't really
1:56
understand what like a p&l was what's
1:58
the difference between net and gross
2:00
profit like how do you build a business
2:02
being an entrepreneur is for everyone
2:04
and I don't know if it was that that
2:06
made me scared but it was more like when
2:07
I'm in those rooms I didn't know that I
2:09
could just be myself as a co-founder
2:11
like I don't sit there acting like I
2:13
know everything but I I'll ask questions
2:15
and sometimes actually stupid questions
2:16
can really help because sometimes really
2:18
smart people Overlook like the normal
2:20
things that us everyday people would ask
2:23
moving from your YouTube startom those
2:25
days obviously it was a very different
2:26
time and into
2:28
entrepreneurship what's skills do you
2:30
think made that transition easiest to
2:32
you and what do you think was the most
2:33
valuable to you you know I didn't have
2:35
like a a normal day job and so I wasn't
2:38
even though I was like making a
2:39
transition and say it was you know it
2:41
risky cuz it could have failed I didn't
2:42
have that big Financial pressure and
2:44
also being young enough I didn't have
2:46
loads of dependence on me or you know
2:48
there wasn't all of that going on so I
2:50
think that is one thing creators are
2:52
able to do they because they kind of
2:53
work for themselves they can kind of
2:55
like dip their toes into
2:56
entrepreneurship I also think like as a
2:59
Creator you have access to an audience
3:00
so if you're building like a consumer
3:02
product you can quickly get people to
3:04
tell you what they think my next
3:06
question for you how many of these
3:08
questions that I've asked you do you
3:10
think were generated by AI probably
3:13
probably 100% but they felt like really
3:16
good question uh and that's why they
3:18
were generated by AI because AI is great
3:20
with this sort of a thing though I feel
3:22
like it kind of brings up that AI can
3:24
feel very humanik at times how do you
3:27
think we use it as a tool to sort of
3:28
help us in the workplace
3:30
it's going to make everyone a lot more
3:31
efficient and I think it means that
3:33
Services products and services are just
3:36
going to greatly improve and in like a
3:39
market like we live in that means if you
3:42
don't kind of get good at it you're not
3:44
going to be able to compete as well as
3:46
the ones who do do you think that the UK
3:48
is moving fast enough to sort of catch
3:49
up with where AI is at it's important
3:52
for the next few years um in my opinion
3:55
for them not to try and over regulate it
3:57
just yet before they know exactly what
3:58
it is because we need to allow the
4:00
Innovation we need to I think it's
4:01
really important like the West is is
4:04
still like ahead yeah I think they're
4:06
doing a good job but at the same time I
4:08
think that government don't always
4:10
understand technology like they think
4:12
they do do you notice sort of your geny
4:14
or younger employees do you notice they
4:16
have a different approach to work and as
4:17
a leader do you think that there's a
4:19
certain way to manage them they're very
4:21
very smart they have access to so much
4:23
and they have really great BS detectors
4:26
as a leader uh you can't just stand up
4:28
on stage like every few months and like
4:30
say what you want everyone to think and
4:33
have them believe you they're going to
4:34
ask questions they're going to pick
4:35
apart your argument they're going to be
4:36
a lot more um interested in what's in it
4:39
for them than I think like previous
4:41
generations and I think that's a good
4:42
thing like you have to lead with
4:43
authenticity and stop using the word
4:45
authenticity cuz it's so boring can you
4:47
come up with a better word for
4:48
authenticity please you could try
4:50
genuine or real genuine I like real even
4:53
real let's be real hi my name is Cas and
4:56
hi my name is
4:57
Cas I think in the future as well like
4:59
when it comes to uh where things are
5:02
going it's just going to get like easier
5:04
to create content but I always think
5:06
that people and humans are going to have
5:08
to be at the center of that content and
5:10
so it's just going to allow us all to do
5:11
more and like compete with the bigger
5:13
networks uh even more than we've been
5:15
able to in the last few years do you
5:17
miss the YouTube days at all or are you
5:18
happy where you are I'm really happy
5:20
with where I am I I do every now and
5:22
then like sneak in uh a Tik Tok or an
5:25
Instagram video I still want to try and
5:27
uh try and like keep that muscle active
5:30
it's fun working with creators from like
5:32
the other point of view it's fun like
5:33
being able to like objectively help
5:35
someone else it's also really great to
5:37
like learn something new and I guess I
5:39
did that for like 12 years um and now
5:41
I've been doing this for like like seven
5:43
years I think I'll keep doing this
5:45
though forever cuz it's so different
5:47
it's like every day is different it
5:48
always changes you never know I might
5:49
might make some YouTube videos again one
5:51
oh stay tuned exactly
