How are AI and ChatGPT taking over entry level jobs?

If you’re just finishing university or looking for a way into professional services, the Big Four might not be the safe bet they used to be. Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC have all scaled back graduate and junior hiring in a big way over the past two years, and a big part of that comes down to AI. KPMG made the biggest cut, shrinking its grad intake by over 30 per cent last year, Deloitte’s scheme is nearly down a fifth, while EY and PwC aren’t far behind. Additionally, we’re now seeing fewer apprenticeships, fewer internships and fewer grad roles - across the board, down by more than 30 per cent since ChatGPT hit the scene at the end of 2022.
