How a major beer-maker became the latest cyber attack victim
Yet another cyber attack is rattling big businesses, and this time its hitting Japan’s brewing giant, Asahi. The hack has forced the company to suspend shipping and customer service in Japan, though European operations, including UK brewer fullers, remain unaffected for now. It’s the latest in a string of high profile attacks across the UK. M&S, Co-op, Jaguar Land Rover and luxury retailer Harrods have all been targeted in recent months, highlighting just how vulnerable major firms - and their supply chains - have become. Asahi, which owns Peroni, Pilsner, and Fullers’ London pride, described the incident as a ‘system failure’, and said there is no evidence of customer data being leaked.
