Two rants in one week? What is this

Okay, so this is gonna be completely unedited, but I want to get this up as quickly as possible because there's a lot of people talking about it right now

But I wanted to rant to you for a little bit about this whole new YouTube Heroes thing

I think this is the worst idea YouTube has had in years, and they've made some pretty stupid decisions

I think this just opens the door for so many trolls, so many people who are easily offended by everything

by everything. You know who you are Tumblr people. To completely censor YouTube and this

is all about censorship. We've heard some kind of things over the past about people boycotting YouTube about other things, but I think this takes the cake. This makes the

biggest indication to me that YouTube doesn't care about its creators anymore. It only cares

about its advertisers. I think they're so terrified that advertisers are going to put

their content on something they might find offensive and people will like freak out at

the advertiser. I think that's the reason they're implementing this. I really don't

think they have any other concerns other than making money, which has been the case with YouTube

forever, as far as I can remember, actually. But I just think this is the most ridiculous idea

they've had. Basically, if you don't know what it is, you can read about it on the YouTube help

section, but basically you can mass flag content that you find inappropriate. I don't know exactly

how that works. I don't want to sign up for it. I don't want to give them any kind of credit that I may be interested, but basically you can, I'm assuming you can probably search for a certain

term that you find offensive go through all the videos without even watching them and flag them as inappropriate Now I don know if you know but as a content producer getting your content flagged is a huge

deal. And I think you only get three strikes. At least that might be copyright. Actually, I don't

know. I don't know too much about that. But the fact that you can so easily flag content is

terrifying as a creator. And it kind of makes me wonder, you know, was starting this new channel

the best idea or would I have been better off creating on a new platform? And it's just, I don't

know, it's just really discouraging. I kind of hope that, I kind of gave YouTube the benefit of the

doubt after the last thing about people being demonetized for their content being offensive

or inappropriate, but now they've lost that complete amount of trust that I had in them

and I know a lot of people feel the same way. So I'm really curious, like more than any of these

other rants, I want to know what you guys think. I want to hear your stories. As a creator, this is going to impact me severely. And I want to know your thoughts. I mean, is there another

platform out there other than YouTube that people who just want to get their voice out there can do

it? Because I'm all ears right now. And yeah, I'm just super pissed off about this. And I think you

should be too. And if you're not, let me know. Maybe I'm seeing this the wrong way. But I honestly

can't see any other way to see it other than YouTube is terrified of losing money from advertisers

So yeah, that's my second rant of the week. But I just had to get this out. Like I said

this isn't gonna be edited, there's not gonna be any music or anything like that, but I want to let you know, like, I'm here for you and I'm open to all of your thoughts on this, so please tell me
